I think we’ll sign 6-8. But like I say as for starting 11 I’m anticipating 1st game no more than 2 or 3.l new players. It will be fun seeing exactly what happens.
This might be an unpopular opinion but I think it's a case of less is more for a number of reasons.
The way we play and have everyone so dialled in I believe despite it being a huge step up we will make it. Don't forget Plymouth finished above us last year and yet in the higher division we were a million times better than them. A lot of that is to do with the tactical nous of KMc and the players to carry it out.
Don't forget back when we went up as the play-off winners we only had 1 new signing that was a regular in the Hermanator. We finished 5th. The jump in quality was huge back then also but we had a great bunch of players all knowing the system, parallels to this time around also.
Look at Leverkusen. Player for player they don't have the best squad in Germany but team ethos and tactics mean they do have the best team. Football at the moment feels very innovative from a tactical standpoint and we have the man at the absolute forefront of that.
I am not naive enough to think we don't need any signings and we really could do with Hutchinson because he knows exactly how this team works and there will be others but I'd be surprised if there is more than 2 or maybe 3 new faces in the starting 11 come kick of in our first game.
(There are all kinds of stuff on YT right now but this is a smart man that explains exactly how we have done it and McKenna's style and is a great watch if you have a spare 15 mins)
Probably Everton away also for the same reasons....plus a realistic chance of a result there.
Incidentally will priority for tickets roll over from this season for home games and away games been to this season affecting the ability to get tickets next.....
Until fixtures are released if anyone was wondering. Got a hunch will be Man Utd at home. What isn’t in doubt is it will be covered by Sky and won’t be a Saturday 3pm KO.
It's just completely relative to a individuals financial situation though. There would be a cut off point for everyone ranging from £100 to £1M+
I hated the idea of us not going up that in the last 5 or 6 games, including Leeds games I have been insuring against us doing so. Each to their own. For the record I'm much much happier the bets were losing.
I have been beyond nervous last few weeks. However in my option it feels we are home and hosed. There is not a better team to be playing than Huddersfield.
I couldn’t care less if Norwich make it. And I dislike them as much as the next person. If we are up that’s all that matters and part of me would love to put an end to this stupid 15 years in front of the world in the best league in the world.
Yes. Of sheer importance yes. The 2015 play-off game was a pair of games to get us to a final where we'd then be 50/50. This game to me feels like a ticket to the premier league if we do not lose given what would be to come on Saturday.
There is no need whatsoever. This is not a normal league game. Huddersfield would be happy to have some home in with them. If you can get a ticket with them I say go for it
With the exception of Rotherham if you could hand pick the 2 teams to be playing I’d say Coventry and Huddersfield are those. Huddersfield for obvious reasons and Coventry clearly just want the season done. Yesterday vs Blackburn 31 shots vs 6 and now Kitching not playing. Now is the time to remain as optimistic and positive as ever.
I know there are a few permutations but it staggers me how some people are reading the situation.
If Leeds lose and that is a big if then a draw vs Hull is absolutely no better than a lose vs Hull. We’d still need to beat Coventry.
It is a clear 2 horse race so if Leeds win vs QPR and we win vs Hull that’s no different to us both losing. Therefore if we both lose our next game we are much more likely to finish 2nd than the likelihood right now. In fact some might say both losing is better than both winning if it means more chance Norwich are caught. Leeds also have the easier game so matching their result is huge whether that’s both winning or both losing.
The math is quite simple but some choose not to look at that way.
So were Middlesborough. Form is counting for nothing. I just hope Leeds don't get any more blatantly wrong decisions in their favour as I couldn't stomach watching a repeat of Monday.
Seems mental how a lino missing such a clear offside is the difference to us knowing just one away win would be enough and probably having to now win them both (I'm assuming Huddersfield will be a formality)
