I remember the Churchman’s cigarette factory on that site. I think the factory was so close to the stand that there wasn’t even public access around the back of the stand . So fortunate to have all this space around the stadium to develop it and keep the character. If houses had been built in the past, we would be facing the prospect of a characterless out of town bowl like Brighton. No atmosphere, no pubs, no food, no fan engagement. Bus in, bus out. Horrendous! |

I think if he never had an injury he would have started almost every match since signing. He is often on the bench only because he is coming back from an injury and I think the physios are rightly very careful with him. |

Great effort from all the players. Just another moment of stupidity ruined the afternoon. Do players sometimes forget they are on a yellow?! It would have been nice to see what would have happened with 11 v 11. Obviously really short of players but the four centre half’s did ok! We just massively miss having players like Szmodics, Burns, Omari, Cajuste, Phillips. In fact 3-0 would have been an acceptable score if we had 11 men so I think they deserved the 10 minute standing ovation at the end ( I don’t think they expected it though!) |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We're in a Difficult Spot in Terms of Availability at 16:10:27
We have plenty of defenders. And is Godfrey still around? Hopefully Morsy, Cajuste and Taylor are OK. Looks like Chaplin is back? Encisco is fit? Hirst up front with Clarke on one wing. Have to play Johnson on the other - he is better there than in defence, though not quite Prem standard. Taylor will have to come on for Enciso/ Chaplin. Luongo on for Cajuste, Delap on for Hirst. Certainly need a couple of the academy players on the bench but I dont see them coming on. Perhaps one of them to come on for Clarke to do a defensive job and hold on to our 1-0 lead for the last few minutes ! |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Newcastle Midfield One of the Best in the World at 15:17:04
Horrible negative rubbish on here. Every player has given everything this season. You cant ask for more than that. There have been many competative and enjoyable games. Morsy has done well this season. Many assumed he wouldnt cope at all with the prem. They were wrong. Loved seeing him go past Declan Rice last week! And 'grinch', I think Morsy will go, probably to the Saudi league and earn a fortune for a couple of seasons. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Ups and Downs on Way to Becoming Sustainable Premier League Club at 15:08:01
Are some supporters suggesting Morsy hasnt really tried this season?! Have you actually watched him? You claim to have a season ticket. Try facing the pitch? Morsy managed to keep Taylor, Luongo and often Philips out of the team. He has competed very well in almost every match and been an outstanding leader. I think he has showed that he is a premier league player and could have been playing at this level before. Our shortcomings are mainly in the lack of fit wingers, dodgy goalkeeping and some poor defending. A few of our defenders were expected to be a little better perhaps and have shown that they are perhaps just good championship players. No one can question the effort of this squad surely? |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers - Match Report at 17:57:11
Unfortunate that the team cannot maintain dominance after taking the lead. Let’s make this clear, McKenna does everything he can to persuade the team to keep attacking and get the second goal. Perhaps PL opposition are just too good ? All players have given everything this season. Perhaps the exception would be Philogene who has been not quite even non-league level. The plus is that no team will pay us the 22 million he is ‘worth’ and perhaps he will turn back into the ‘English Messi’ (?) when he has to rebuild his reputation in the championship. Other than him, I have no criticisms of any players. We will keep most of our squad and every chance of going straight back up if the investors stay and the management stays. That’s always a big ‘if’ though. By the way, Morsy is my player of the season. He has kept Phillips out of the team and he will make a huge pile of cash in Saudi next season. He will deserve every penny! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We're Increasingly Competitive and Still Fighting to Achieve Incredible Goals at 19:17:33
We will have an amazing squad for the championship if we have McKenna (or a manager who continues the work of McKenna) and if Ashton stays. Remember that the club improved recruitment when the new owners came in with Paul Cook in charge. If the investors stay with us we will be OK. Basically if everything stays the same the future is bright regardless of which league we are in. But hold on! We are going to beat Forrest and go on a winning streak that keeps us in the Prem. So just relax! |

There is no way of being sure that an injury has fully and permanently healed such that it can withstand professional sport. |
 | News Comment | Amorim: A Good Performance in All Aspects at 19:52:30
Sorry Ruben, worst Man U team I have ever seen apart from the one we beat 6-0 in 1980 ! And yes, I was in the Sir Alex stand opposite our away fans and thay were louder that the United fans. A young lady infront of me actually covered her ears at one point due to the volume and the Town contingent must have been 100m away from us ! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We've Managed and Played the Second Half Really Poorly at 19:47:22
He summed it up really well. I have been positive on every performance so far this season. That second 45 was the worst performance of the season where the team for the first time just didnt know hat they were doing. Sometimes something good comes from this. perhaps we can have a run of good results. The odds are against us becsause we have lost some of the players would might make a difference. The frustration is because we were handed a big opportunity and failed to get anywhere near taking it. Earlier in the season we would have grabbed it and won it 3-2. We have players, who we were hoping would turn out to be excellent premier league players, who have probably not quite hit the heights we had hoped for. They have done OK but are perhaps good championship players, nothing more. I guess the positive is that we have a very good championship squad with very few of the players earning the right to get a transfer to a premier league side if we get relegated. But still there is hope. If not, perhaps we will go down fighting with some heroic performances in the remaining games. McKenna will really show what he's made of now when the odds are stacked against us and we have, for the first time, looked a dead cert to go down. |
 | News Comment | Manchester United 3-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 21:50:52
Utterly clueless performance in the second half. We just had no idea. Philogene was awful again - Ignore the lucky goals. We failed to punish an awful team with 10 men. We came out in the second half playing lazy football as if they thought it was going to be easy. Then having conceded yet another set piece by giving away yet another unnecessary corner, we just played the ball back and forth across the pitch for the rest of the half. You could see they had no plan and no idea what to do to break down the ten men. Philogene and Tuanzebe were pure comedy just playing it back and forth between each other. Philogene would do a few of those pointless jerky things, give it back to Tuanzebe who would gave it straight back for more comedy stationary step overs. The Utd defenders could have brought a teapot on and poured each other a cuppa. Any other team would have murdered Man U tonight. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Have to Go to Old Trafford With Humility But Also Confidence at 22:22:24
Such a lot of negativity. It’s really sad. We are in the a premier league and many on here are miserable. Give your tickets to proper supporters and go and support whatever team that happens to be winning all the time. I am still laughing at the idiot who picked a team without Morsy in it! The away supporters are the proper supporters who have outsung every home crowd this season. Ok, apart from Liverpool perhaps. I am sitting with Man U supporters because they are not filling their stadium this year for some reason. I will have to stop myself shouting every time we score! |
