On your very last point, I don't believe that there is anything wrong with the technology of VAR. It is clearly the users of the technology that make it painful in English football. I think that it is the interpretation of the rules around VARs use, and the standard of refereeing decisions together with the time typically taken over those decisions that make it really unpalatable, not the technology itself. I would advocate that PGMOL overhaul the way they use VAR. Make it simple. Abolish the need to interpret whether the ref clearly made an obvious error of judgement. Simply use the technology to inform the ref what they can see (that he maybe missed), and overrule him if needed. Abolish the pitch side screen. Oh, and if VAR refs are unable in ca. 30 seconds to reach a decision, the on-pitch decision stands. |

That was one of the funniest things on a football pitch for a long time. Omari is a talented lad, but he obviously isn't a practiced DE and was letting in a draught, so one of our wall (Johnson?) turned round, picked him up and plonked him down closer to the wall. Like you'd do with an actual DE, if it was too far from the door. |

This Fred started with a mistake, so it might as well finish with a pisstake. |

The Leif-like draught excluder in German is Bahnschranke, which means railway crossing barrier. Not many people know that. |

You have to play your in-form players, and Broadhead is performing when others are not, regardless of what he cost us. |

Never seen an opposition player with glasses. |

The same thoughts have crossed my mind more than once this season. KMc always seemed to introduce new players slowly in the past two seasons, especially if they hadn't had a pre-season with us. The various components of how we play need to be learned and a clear understanding between players built up, which takes time. I guess there are many possible reasons for the differing approach this season, not least the jump in skills, but plainly the level of physicality/athleticism. Last night, Palace were a great example, together with the likes of Fulham, Villa, Everton this season. A typical EPL player has the technical skills etc, but also a greater athleticism. I think the purchases of Delap, O'Shea, Johnson and Cajuste fall into this category of player. We have some snappy little players, like Chappers and Morsy, but although they are/have been favourite players, I wouldn't exactly label them as athletic. Also, all managers tend to pick "their players" (players they brought in) and those that cost more, as a priority. That is normal. I would not go as far to say that Burgess should play over Greaves, or indeed in the other direction, that we need a Morsy replacement in January. KMc knows his onions, is diligent and hard working. If anyone can sort us out, he can. The nagging in the back of my mind is are we truly up to speed on recruitment? We are very UK focused, with only Cajuste being brought in from abroad. I understand the argument that it is easier to integrate English speakers with experience of the game here, but are we missing out on better quality players and greater value for money in foreign leagues? January will be interesting. |

..............errr, I don't think so. The OP is criticising forum posters/ITFC fans for "constantly blaming officials". I, like others, appreciate that there are other reasons for us dropping points, but I also consider it to be completely fair to call out the officials on Saturday. It wasn't just a "mistake" by the ref, it was mistakes plural by the ref and the VAR ref. I simply wanted to discover what the OP thought about the actual decisions that people are unhappy with. Is that ok with you? |

IPSWICHFANITFC, do you think it was a penalty? If not, do you think it should have been reviewed pitch side by the ref? |

After Gallagher finally answered the question, stating that it wasn't a penalty and then opining that it was a collision, Stephen Warnock should have slowly removed his glasses, offered them to Gallagher with the words, "I think you might need these more than me!" |
