Today's game
at 14:11 19 Jul 2025

Linz don't appear to be streaming the game.

TownTV have "Match Passes" at GBP4.99 or EUR5.98, but they don't seem to have got their act together yet on subscriptions for the forthcoming season.

Huge position of strength on Omari ...
at 13:08 16 Jul 2025

There's an awful lot of conjecture in many of these posts....and negativism. If you haven't already learnt, as a club, we are managed professionally compared to the Evans era ballsup.

Regardless of whether Omari or his agent want out or not, we don't want or need to sell. He signed a long contract.

£35m was supposedly the release clause, which Brentford were prepared to meet. However, we can now name our price and negotiate from a position of strength. If Brentford sell Mbeumo for £55m+, and see Omari as the immediate replacement, we should be looking to push them for as much of that fee as we can.

Glad the PL have admitted we were hard done by with VAR last season
at 11:13 2 Jul 2025

I think most people just want a fair game, not a game biased towards a bigger club or a partisan crowd. If that means referees acting like robots, I'd be all for it. The big clubs have given themselves enough advantages in the game, without refs assisting them too.

Also, VAR. The technology is great, but the use of it by refs, especially in England, is terrible. I wish people involved in football would stop criticising VAR in it's entirety, when it is the rules, their interpretation, and the standard of on-field and VAR refereeing that is clearly at fault.

If a modern day version of Erica Roe was to make an appearance, that would make three.

You are the ref

I think there is room on this forum to discuss both refereeing decisions and our own team's failings. I am not sure what "adjusted" is implying, and I appreciate that on-field refs have a tough job, but there have been so many instances this season where the reffing has clearly been poor, we shouldn't turn a blind eye to it because we have also played badly.

Start of the season retrospective
at 07:45 27 Apr 2025

On your very last point, I don't believe that there is anything wrong with the technology of VAR. It is clearly the users of the technology that make it painful in English football.

I think that it is the interpretation of the rules around VARs use, and the standard of refereeing decisions together with the time typically taken over those decisions that make it really unpalatable, not the technology itself.

I would advocate that PGMOL overhaul the way they use VAR. Make it simple. Abolish the need to interpret whether the ref clearly made an obvious error of judgement. Simply use the technology to inform the ref what they can see (that he maybe missed), and overrule him if needed. Abolish the pitch side screen. Oh, and if VAR refs are unable in ca. 30 seconds to reach a decision, the on-pitch decision stands.

Davis = Draught Excluder???
at 17:55 15 Feb 2025

That was one of the funniest things on a football pitch for a long time. Omari is a talented lad, but he obviously isn't a practiced DE and was letting in a draught, so one of our wall (Johnson?) turned round, picked him up and plonked him down closer to the wall. Like you'd do with an actual DE, if it was too far from the door.

The Leif-like draught excluder in German is Bahnschranke, which means railway crossing barrier.

Not many people know that.

You have to play your in-form players, and Broadhead is performing when others are not, regardless of what he cost us.
