Chances are, away end will be roughly two-thirds of Cobbold Upper, so that's 100 or so enforced moves. From side-view central to fringes of other stands. Quick guide to those having to move: Cobbold lower - exposed to the elements West Upper - partly restricted view (you can't see the near touchline from most seats) + lots & lots of stairs South Lower - Cobbold end a bit raucous, tunnel end pretty quiet South Upper - very, very cold when the wind is from the north North Upper - for people who wish their aging legs allowed them to stand North Lower - standing |

Otherwise, A1 / M18 / M62 / A63. If the A1 is behaving itself, it can be quicker than the more direct Lincoln route. |

I had a work colleague who played hockey at a decent level, and made sure always to wear a mouth-guard. Unfortunately it proved ineffective. Leading to a year of living off soup, waiting for her teeth to reset. Yuk. |
| Forum Reply | Evertons financial situation 😲 at 12:21 19 Apr 2024
Per The Athletic a few days ago, they have borrowed from various sources, some a bit opaque, and a chunk of their 500m debt attracts 10% interest. So, Everton's annual interest bill is several times higher than Tottenham's (mostly borrowed around 1%), with the main difference being that Everton's stadium is unfinished and ot completely financed thus far. |

They didn't pay anything for Dele - the deal was based on appearances, and didn't get triggered as he made fewer than 10! |

Popping over to watch Fortuna Düsseldorf v FC Fürth. Had to be done! Their season is uncannily similar to ours, right down to the risk of a play-off v Cologne, the teutonic Norwich. |
| Forum Reply | How many points needed for top 2? at 16:24 15 Apr 2024
And Southampton still have to play away at Leicester & Leeds. Once / If Southampton even draw one game, 2 wins puts us above them. If Leeds draw 1 game, 2 wins puts us above them. Leicester need to lose 2 out of 4 for 2 wins to put us above them. But even that isn't inconceivable. For us to need 3 wins, chances are one of Leeds and Southampton needs to win every game. I do not expect that... |

If we win our next 2, we will seal promotion at Cov. |

We have won more European games since we were relegated from the Premier League than they have won in Europe in their entire history. |

Their collapse started earlier this season. If they go up in 1st or 2nd, they'll need to turn 4pts from 6 games into (probably) at least 14pts from their last 7... |
| Forum Reply | Financial results from last year at 20:43 25 Mar 2024
Excellent analysis. We are operating within a financial plan agreed between owners & club management. This year's accounts will be fascinating. Presumably non-playing staff costs will increase but not by much. Player wages will be higher as planned (much, much higher if we go up again, as there must be huge promotion bonuses payable - was that also an element if our relative high wages last season?). But commercial revenues will be way up, tv/ media maybe 10m up... |
| Forum Reply | How much does a football stand cost? at 13:59 25 Mar 2024
Pretty sure Fulham's cost was high because of a few factors we don't have: 1 Building right back to the river - space and engineering issues 2 Central London costs incl / esp wages Ashton has said repeatedly ours will be a single-tier, to maximise space beneath. That promises decent concourses, but also big dining space. There are a number of clubs who have nice squarish rooms that seat 300 - 500 for dinner (examples, Plymouth, Crewe, Bristol City). If we did this, we'd pick up a lot of local big-dinner trade non-matchdays. There would still be room for private dining facilities, either with or without pitch view (I can't think of any modern single tier stands with exec boxes, but can imagine it could be done with outside seating). I'd love there to be a decent restaurant open 7 days a week, like maybe the MPW at Stadium MK. It'll be interesting to see what ITFC might do with the joins to N and S stands. I imagine there may be an attempt to align then at roof level, but there is potentially a massive gap between E and S stands (perfect space for a brewery, like at Spurs...). It would be ideal to shift the pitch maybe 2m east, as currently most seats in West Upper can't see the touchline. Also, widen the pitch a wee bit. I am not convinced we would move boardroom / directors box across. Logistically it makes little sense. There are very few west-facing directors boxes (thinks, Shrewsbury & Fleetwood), as you get blinded by the sun or soaked by the rain. |

I'm not sure the kind of people offended by the continuation of the tradition of recolourising / redesigning the St George's flag would take all that well to a German taking charge. Worth it for the bantz, surely? |
