Leadbitter's Boro Move Confirmed
at 18:39:15

Genuinely don't believe the move was about greed....i suspect he'll be on less now than he was with us....3 years rather than the 2 i suspect we offered...... and lets be honest i don't suppose he felt particularly loved here.
Overall a huge underperformer for what he cost us and i think that him moving on suited us as much as it did him.

Clegg Delighted to Make Early Signings
at 16:06:20

Tractored:

On what basis are you assuming that nobody else wanted them? Presumably Baggies fans are saying the about GMac and Pompey fans about Norris?

We got them on a free but I'm sure other clubs would have made offers sooner or later.

Town Topic: The Day We Won the UEFA Cup
at 10:55:56

Tops even Wembley in 78 and 2000 for me....the culmination of the single greatest season in our history. The best we have ever had and ever will have in my view.

I was 16 years old and went with my mate David Darbyshire from Felixstowe. At 7 in the morning Ipswich station was a sea of blue and white and the noise was incredible.

I remember a big bowl of a stadium and a warm spring evening with everyone in such high spirits. I think the fact that we were 3-0 up took away a lot of tension and then scoring after 2 minutes just topped it off.

Fabulous, fabulous memories.......

Whymark's stunning volley in the same game as Mariner against WBA in 1976....he played a 1:2 with Warky and rifled it in from 25 yards.....

Gates scored some crackers in the early eighties too.......

Walters Off to Stoke City
at 15:40:20

He will need to up his game by at least 20% from the best we saw 2 years ago to make any kind of impact on the Premier League.History will not rate him as any kind major contributor to ITFC.

Speculation on Keane\'s Future Grows

I have a feeling this one is going to run and run and..........

I'm guessing this is just media speculation but let's hope it's resolved one way or the other asap.

Keane Speculation Starts Again
at 10:53:33

I am bemused by the continuing faith that people still seem to be prepared to put in Keane. By any measure, his performance has been at best poor and in my view unacceptable. This idea that giving him another season just doesn't stack up: there is nothing in the last 6 months which indicate that giving him another season will achieve anything. This idea that they are his players has some truth but if they are not good enough it doesn't matter who's players they are. Whether it's Keane in charge or someone else we need at lest 5 new players in the summer to compete next season anyway.
I accept that changing now in the precarious position we are is not in our interests and I think that we just about have enough to scrape clear.
I don't think Evans can afford (either financially or egotistically) to have Keane in charge next season.
