McKenna Contract Confirmation Now Expected Wednesday
at 14:30:04

Fifeblue the person who told me is good friends with a former player who still works for the club. Perhaps I should have said ‘uncertain authority’, ie I don’t *know* that it originated from the ex player, but from the conversation I had, I got the impression it most likely did. If it turns out to be wrong, then I highly doubt it did come from the ex player, but rather someone less well connected

McKenna Contract Confirmation Now Expected Wednesday
at 08:52:23

I have it on pretty good authority that the delay is not so much to do with legal issues/ red tape etc., but more to do with a PR stunt, they’re going to be announcing it to a crowd at the Suffolk show today. It sounds plausible to me, and the person who told me isn’t the type to make things up. Still doesn’t necessarily mean it’s correct, mind

Top man. I noticed on BBC he also appeared to bemoan the ridiculous 15 minutes injury time. Refreshingly honest from a man who’s team was pushing hard for an equaliser

i know a few brewers in Suffolk. I also thought of the idea to ask for a brew to be made along these lines with a cut of profits going to the charity. I'll speak to some of them this week at Ipswich Beer Festival

Be interested to know how this stops away fans from ‘bigger' clubs (ie those likely to fill the away end) buying a membership so as they can get a ticket for their game in amongst town fans

Town to Wear Blackout Kit Against Derby
at 15:30:01

Would like a ‘not fussed either way' option on the poll.

It'd be a break in traditional to wear it at home for sure, but it's certainly a very nice shirt, and has been a massive commercial hit. Maybe it would be nice to parade it in front of the attending thousands and the many more on sky rather than a midweek away game with a thousand or so in attendance. As long as we win I don't really mind what colours we wear. Except yellow and green obviously.

Wishing the poor bloke well, hope whatever it is he makes a swift full recovery.

In reference to the post about Celina and Covid, I believe he had pericarditis after contracting Covid, and nothing to do with the vaccine. I suspect there are some very rare instances of vaccines causing palpitations, but no doubt heart problems are much more of a short and long term issue of Covid than they are from any vaccine

How gutting for the girls. It might be officially expunged, but they and the fans must remember it fondly. Hopefully when we're all back up and running again they can come back stronger than ever.

What's the Stay Away Fans' Excuse Now? An Open Letter to Certain Town Fans
at 14:05:27

My reason is pretty simple. I decided a few years ago that attending football was an expensive luxury I could live without. I may go back to the odd game here or there but I doubt I'll get a season ticket again any time soon. Last game I went to was the Rotherham 0-1 debacle the season before last. My attitude wouldn't change if we were flying high in the premier league or if we were in a league one relegation scrap. It's largely football's fault I feel like this rather than ITFC

You're paying for the event/entertainment. Oktoberfest is about more than just having a beer. If it's not your thing you don't have to go. I'm sure there are plenty of people who are planning to go in any case (people at my work are talking about it) and will gladly take up the offer of a free beer with it.

All-Change for Town at Palace
at 14:58:40

Absolutely the right thing to do. The squad is decimated with injuries and illnesses. Can't afford anyone else missing out. I can't believe anyone realistically thought that any other decision would have been made, perhaps with the exception of 1 or 2 First team players in the side. Let's hope they rise to the occasion. Doubtless Palace will have a young team out too.

Massive 'thumbs up' to ITFC for this. The club seem to be making strides to get it right off the pitch at last. Hopefully a few more signings and we can do something similar on the pitch this coming season as well.
