Breitenreiter: Changes But We Have to Remain Professional
at 18:10:07

My Huddersfield colleague says that Breitenreiter is a decent manager and tactician but apparently some players doesn't really like him for being too straight talking and blunt. There is already talk of an exodus, it will be interesting to see which players will leave in the summer. Underestimate them at your peril.

Evans Departs Pompey

It would be nice of the club called him back for the promotion celebrations (if we do go up!) - as a player this season and last, he deserves to be part of it.

McKenna: We Didn't Hit Our Usual Levels
at 23:30:27

Why all the doom and gloom bobble, because it was the sc*m. The game every Town fan has been waiting for, why we were even singing “Norwich City, we’re coming for you” at Posh, Barnsley etc last season? Why were we taunting them Merry Christmas at Watford in Dec? Yet we see no passion, no desire and a garbage performance today and being an embarrassment in the budgie backyard.

If today doesn’t hurt, if watching the aimless sideways and backwards passing without any attacking intent just now doesn’t make you feel sick I don’t know what will. Yes, McK and the team have done wonders over the past 2 years but that doesn’t excuse them for a shambolic derby performance. Let me give you a real life example: I may be the employee of the year but if I fk my firm’s biggest client up do you think my CEO will give me a free pass based on past performance? Or would I be disciplined or even fired?

Morsy: Our Biggest Strength Has Been How We Bounce Back
at 21:20:13

Players seem nonchalant - I wonder if Woolfy and Clarke have told the squad how fans view the derby. From the "Norwich City, we are coming for you chants" in the promotion run-in last season to the "Merry Christmas Norwich sc*m" at Watford away. Yet the team manages to c0ck up both derby matches spectacularly - especially today.

Talk less, DO MORE.

McKenna: We Didn't Hit Our Usual Levels

ImAbeliever - Passion, desire, game management and the will to win doesn't require a multi-million Prem squad. I was full of praise of the boys when we lost 3-4 to Leeds at home. Even the the 2-1 injury time debacle at Cardiff could be forgiven. But today, playing our arch-enemies we chose to play possibly the worst game of the season bar Maidstone. We had SEVENTY minutes to take the game to them but failed to. I don't even need to check out WOTB and PinkUn to know what an embarrassment we were today.

McKenna: We Didn't Hit Our Usual Levels

Well said ArnieM sometimes our stubbornness/inflexibility/inability to have a Plan B shows - while many people talk abut "trusting the process" and "McKenna ball" bringing us from the depths of League One to the top of the Championship we are still vulnerable to performance like this when we fail to adapt to the opposition tactics. I would even have put Jackson and AAH together up front for the last 15 minutes and give it a go rather than continue with the tippy-tappy backwards and sidewards passing when even Stevie Wonder can see the budgies were packing their box with 7, 8 men. We also always try to walk the ball into the net today, so many times players should have taken a shot outside the box but did not and chose to pass backwards ffs.

Top teams know how to nullify out threat - we may grind out wins against relegation fodder and mid-table sides but Southampton aside we have failed to beat any other team (D4 L4) in the top 6. I hope we do manage automatic because from past performance if we sink into the play-offs we would probably not even make it to Wembley.

McKenna: We Didn't Hit Our Usual Levels

No excuses, players were invisible today. I wonder if the players know the significance of the derby. We had the whole fooking second half to change things around and yet more negative back passes with no sense of urgency. Chaplin - invisible throughout the whole match might as well not have played. Probably goosed after his sprint on Monday but he better remember he's a Town player first then a Pompey fan. Broadhead invisible. Moore why play him if unfit? Taylor invisible. Luongo AWOL. Harness might as well play for the skum the amount of free kicks he gave them. 5 games to go with massive improvement needed. Our performances v Blackburn and Saints were not good either - we just had the rub of the green we hadn't today. Leeds may have lost to Cov but look at how they attacked the Cov goal all the way to the end while we were passing the ball around like a training match and giving silly free kicks to the S*um in the 90th minute. Not going to sugarcoat it I am pi$$ed now, wake the fk up

McKenna: We Didn’t Defend a Couple of Moments Well Enough

Very diplomatic from McK but even Stevie Wonder can tell that we were pants today. 1. Zero game management 2. Shocking defence 3. No attacking threat

Cardiff City 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 14:55:04

Piss poor game management, why sit back and let Cardiff have all the ball after scoring? We have not played like this for ages - too many players going through the motions today thinking they will turn up and win. How many shots on target did we have before Moore's opener and after? Players get a taste of their own medicine this time.

Morsy: You Feel Like You've Let the Fans Down

Desire and application of the players? Broadhead was invisible today. Taylor might as well not have played and Axel I wondered how he managed to feature in the Champions League when the amateurs from the sixth tier can do better. Pathetic.

Town Targeting Wimbledon Striker Al-Hamadi
at 15:55:12

blues1 Well the reality is that we are competing with them now for the remaining 18 games left this season. It is perfectly fine if Al-Hamadi is signed with a long-term development intent but its very unlikely he will have the ability to fire us to the Prem this season. What we need is 1, preferably 2 strikers with Championship or even Prem experience and nous that can 'plug and play' in our starting XI NOW. Even Vardy, as mentioned by many above took 2 full seasons with Leicester to step up. It is an unfair competition, FFP and parachute payments - but as a realist we need much better just to remain second for the rest of the season. Fingers crossed still

Town Targeting Wimbledon Striker Al-Hamadi

Shades of Ahadme and Camara all over again. Underwhelming at best, it’s a tall order for a League 2 striker to make the step up to top end Championship with immediate effect. We need an experienced player with Prem or at least Championship experience - look at the attacking options available with the clubs we have to slug out with for automatics. Leeds have Bamford and Piroe with a slew of attacking 10s, Southampton has Che Adams, A Armstrong and Fraser, and even the scum have Sargent and Rowe. We have done well so far depending on goals from our 10s but can it last the remainder of the season? It is going to be a tall order.

Town Targeting Owls Winger Johnson
at 18:25:15

blues1 besides the elbow on Burns remember his dive and penalty that basically cheated Derby of a place in the POs last season? I am sure there are other cases that I haven't seen, ask the Sheff Wed fans. And apparently he had a falling out with their previous manager Xisco who removed him from the squad list. If he's on a nominal fee I am not saying anything but £1 million + is just ridiculous

Strange signing. I'd rather have Greg Leigh back than Johnson, a cheat and a thug. I wonder what Burns will say to him if he joins. And can he score goals?

Huddersfield Town 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:35:15

A game that looked more like a classic League One encounter with one of the bottom half teams like Cheltenham or Lincoln. Fair play to Darren Moore though, he did what he could with the Terrier's players. He didn't set up like that vs us with Sheff Wed didn't he?
