Perhaps Keane's thought process was to not have anyone tied to the club when we "got" promoted at the end of his 2 years so that it would be easy to make wholesale changes to the playing staff and get in Premier League quality players without having a load of Championship players hanging around. Good idea in theory, but he didn't take into account that players may not want to play for him or play to their full ability if there was no contract at the end of the 2 year Keane reign and they'd be disposed off if we got promoted. Daft really, but I suppose Keane was the type of player to give 100% in every match no matter what, perhaps he didn't realise most other players aren't like him! |

Perhaps we don't actually want to keep them,perhaps PJ's just said what he's said to the players to motivate them up to the end of the season. Then let them go elsewhere, freeing up wages to bring in his own choice of player. Personally, Norris gives us a good goalscoring threat from midfield so I'd like him to stay but I'm sure there are better (and cheaper and more long term and more consistent) defenders out there than McAuley and Delaney, and PJ probably knows that. Will be interesting to see what happens. |

The last time I saw that kind of goal from a centre back was the great Manuel Thetis I think against West Brom - 2 attempts at an overhead kick. |

I would be quite happy with Tonge in on loan, good on the ball and attack minded with a good pass to unlock the defences - a good version of Tommy Miller really! |

Well at least he identifies the problems, I've got confidence in him to do that at least. Lets hope he can get the players to change things and have fewer games where they're "not at their best". That'll be the true sign of a good manager, but he does have the potential to get there. |
