Regardless of talent, a player who doesn’t want to be at a club drags everyone down, no matter what spin is put on it. Hopefully, we can kick on from here both in performances and in the transfer market. |

Football is brutal & I understand Broady on this. Players make certain decisions and we can argue all we like if we believe it is right or not but I believe, given what we know, that at least he approached it the correct way.
He's a Welsh lad, will be playing close to were he was born & raised on a bigger contract so good luck to him. He contributed immensely during the League 1 & Championship campaign and given he wanted to go, both parties have done well out of it. |

Loved Broadhead and wish him well but can't get sentimental in Football (these days). £10m in the circumstances is good business.
IMO writing was on the wall for Borady when MA announced on talksport in June, that they (clearly KMcK and he had spoken) learnt during the PL season we needed a different type of player, more physical with attributes to the current squad. AAH and JC also come to mind given their performances when in Town shirt. |

Given the turnover of players, ones still to go and some still to come in this lineup will not be the one in 6-8 weeks time. It’s going to take until late Sept imo to get really motoring. It’s not how you start it’s how you finish.
Two big pluses from the game are we stole a point, which good teams find a way even when they are poor and given the timing and what happened it must have really pi88ed off Goodman. |

Re Cajuste - pro’s these days are general fit, but match fitness needs to be honed in pre-season. This is a done in a variety of ways but the main ones are small sided intense sessions with little/no space, full sided training games in house & pre season friendliest against outside opposition. Likely Cajuste has little of the first two and none of the second. Personally, imo he will not be ready for a full game until mid September at the earliest. |

Given what we saw 2nd half Saturday and how important the 9 position is to Town with work rate with and without the ball, I believe that one of Delap/Broja will start and the other off the bench from around 60mins as a replacement. Likely the same with Morsy, Phillips, Luongo and Cajuste (2 will start and the others a bench option from 60mins). We cover so much ground in the KMcK system that in certain positions it's more optimum to have a like for like replacement. |

First off I trust Ashton and the board to manage this correctly whatever the outcome. The biggest problem is not the immediate one of if he stays or not it is player recruitment and rentention. Players want to play for McKenna and any deals that were being targetted are now likely to be stalled, in addition players that were likely happy are now discusiing what if scenarios with their agents. Should McKenna go then how quick can we get a replacement in? All in all this is not the headache Ashton and team need at the moment and not a good preparation for our PL foray.
I feel really sorry for Mrs Ashton as she is not likely to get a holiday for some time |

It's so easy to knock something than to create something yourself. For those that are saying it is a bad idea then don't attend, go to the fanzone, pub or whatever - for those that want it then enjoy. There will be some of you who moan and then take part in it and those of you are the worst ones!
It is unlikely to add additional pressure to the team and this would not go ahead if MA and KMcK didn't think it was a good idea.

Had time to process on the way back.
The big issue for me is the trend of being poor/weak for the first 20-25mins. This has now become a bad habit and points to something being wrong in the prep and this needs to be addressed. KM stated that this was irrelevant earlier in the season and a blip but the pattern is clear to see both home and away.
Stop this and we can push on again. |
