One thing I've always found more than a coincidence is that Ruiz and Caceres are at the same club. Did we stumble on Caceres looking at Ruiz (or vice versa)? |

I still don’t think it was a red. Stupid yes - but it was just a slightly clumsy tackle from a forward closing down a defender |

Fair point - something I hadn't considered in my initial post. For whatever reason (probably like most at the moment in terms of playing out of position) Taylor just has not worked this season and looks a real weakness. Humphreys has always struck me as a very tidy footballer. |

...what a huge week for Ipswich Town! The essentials... A striker - Sindre Walle Egeli or William Osula (although unlikely given Newcastle's situation) A creative midfielder - clearly the club would love Hackney The likely... Woolfy out and Sebastian Caceres in Barbrook loaned out What else would we like to see happen? |

There is something seriously lacking from our play. We seem ok defensively - but still make very poor decisions and errors. Midfield...Matusiwa looks solid. Jens will make a difference...but Taylor is way off. What worries me the most is our attack. It''s just not there. Hirst is far too slow and absolutely not the answer to this formation. He's fine to come on for 20 minutes at the end. Jaden will get better. Jack Clarke is no where near. SS - I'm not sure his position in this formation suits him - again he's too slow. I don't know anything about Akpom - I don't know where his best position is or where he'll even play. McAteer - he seems a bizarre signing, which is backed up by what I saw of him today. Very early days of course. Ogbene - he seems quite direct, maybe a better version of Kayden Jackson. For me, we look better when Ashley Young plays. He needs to start ahead of Johnson. We're crying out for another good midfielder and we desperately need a striker. |

I noticed yesterday that after the game where Kieran was shaking hands with players he gave Flynn a hug. After the game Flynn was also interviewed and spoke nicely about the club. He wasn't asked about his future or anything - but a couple of times spoke in the short term for Southampton. |

I thought Philogene was good today! Clarke was better on the right than he has been on the left…but I suspect we’ll see a new right winger that will move Clarke to the bench. |

After just watching Sheffield United get similarly outplayed by Birmingham…I’d definitely take Hamer given any opportunity. He’s Morsey Mark II |

Thanks for this. Interesting last sentence "I don’t want to go into too much detail on it at the moment, I’m just really pleased he’s here and he’s with us". What with McKenna's lack of real insight yesterday and Edwards saying this...makes you wonder if there's more legs to his transfer. Who knows! |

That was a very average first half. England were really poor. It’s interesting because England look better coached…but Italy have better players. Let’s see what the second half brings |

I have nothing against women playing football (or any sport). I think the negativity from men towards women's football in particular is largely down to how forced it feels from the media. They put such a spin on it that the reality is somewhat disappointing. I get that they need to big up the game a bit to try and get people interested...but I think they go too far and it has a negative impact. Even when watching the games the commentary is massively hyped - and that's where some mocking comes in. |

On Kudus: He only scored five goals in the most recent campaign, down from 14 the year before, and was often ineffective in the system preferred by head coach Graham Potter, who took charge in January and favours wing-backs over wingers. Kudus was often utilised up front by Potter and seldom featured wide on the right, arguably his best position, but one in which West Ham already have captain Jarrod Bowen. |

Interesting! I guess the tone of grey is the crucial bit. It's definitely different. |

I'll ask the question.... Clearly the home kit is blue...but anyone in the know have any more details on the kits? |

Has been completely underwhelming since his loan move to West Ham in January. Seemingly not fancied at Brighton. McKenna's a fan. Will he be out of league for next season? Personally, after seeing Osula against us at Newcastle - I'd love to see him here next season. |
 | Forum Thread | Osula at 18:37 26 Apr 2025
I heard a rumour today at St James that Newcastle would send Osula to us on loan if they get Delap. Based on his brief time on the pitch today, I’d take that (if we’re going to lose Delap). |

Why did Cunha do it? |
