Watching live it’s one of those where it looks offside in real time and it’s a split second. Without VAR I think there is every chance the linesman flag goes up pre VAR with that one
Compare Lambert's comments after Nolan's tackle at Lincoln as well. Jackson's, although bad, had no intent or malice in it. Nolan's only thought was to stop the player and bring him down. Nolan was basically applauded by Lambert after the match
As the season is obviously finishing tonight I'd recommend watching some documentaries to learn more. I've been going through the all or nothing series on amazon prime and it gives a great insight to the sport as a whole. The first season follows the Arizona Cardinals when they were coached by Bruce Ariens (coach of Bucs tonight).
Another great documentary is last chance u on netflix, about American football but at community college and players trying to make their way to a top college and then the NFL. I watched it about 2 and a half years ago and then brought Madden off the back of it and have loved it ever since. Gives you a great Sunday evening September to January with 3 games shown on Sky back to back to back
Having gone back and watched the ‘highlights’ Of the match last night we probably still would have lost with the quality of the refereeing. Knudsen would have made a huge difference against Morrison though that can’t be disputed
It should also be remembered that the new year’s day game against Millwall was lost when Morrison came on at half time, stuck himself on Kenlock and bullied him aerially and physically. With Knudsen in the team that day we could have avoided our collapse and potentially won a game which would have put us back with a fighting chance of survival and potential to bring in better loan players as well
That's exactly why its important we can get at least 1 of Dozzell or Bishop in a midfield 3 if we are going to play this way. The only two players who at a flick of a switch can change the tempo or break the lines
I'm back in Loughborough for an alumni event on the 5th May. Any idea what the drinking policy is at the stadium? I believe you have mentioned you work there before? Might be a good little piss up before the night out
I do wonder if we might be close as no announcement tonight on the caretaker even though ME has known since the weekend. Maybe just waiting to see a little bit longer?
Taking your examples, any sane person would be reasonably in their tone and manner if wanting to swap an incorrect item they brought or if they wanted to have their food cooked differently. If this happened the business would then refund/replace the items to the customers satisfaction. If that person started to be aggressive and abusive with swear words I'm sure the business wouldn't hesitate to kick them out and ban them. Is this what we should do we every fan that has been abusive towards MM?
Out of interest, do you believe the song about MM's football should have been sung yesterday at 0-0 in a derby match?
3 in the middle of the Park to match them up and stop Maddison hopefully. Also Garner and Waghorn to Be battering rams up top. Gives Knudsen licence to get forward and score again
When the BBC had the derby the season after they came back from league 1 I remember Jake Humphrey doing a very good intro explaining what makes it so intense and a great rivalry. Shame we went on to lose 4-1 that day
Or a chance to go back to 4-4-2, be more solid and harder to break down and look to repeat the good performance at Preston. Depends how you look at it really
It is fair to say there is a majority of different views on this board at the moment. I thought it would be interesting to see how we would all line up currently and then if every player was fit.
Current side
Bart Chambers Taylor Berra Knudsen Ward Diagouraga Skuse Lawrence Moore Pitman
Bart Chambers Webster Smith Kenlock Bishop Skuse Ward Williams Lawrence Pitman
Subs Gerken Taylor Diagouraga Dozzell Rowe/Huws Sears Mcgoldrick
For me 5 changes to what is our best line up with everyone fit with 3 in the defence. No players we signed in January would be starting for me with no injuries. I feel most people would be the same and shows the lack of backing Mick has had from ME this window
I could understand the Murphy sale to a bigger club and as a last pay day for him.
I can understand why Evans would be reluctant on spending over the odds with the fees being paid in the championship right now.
I can't understand how losing your captain on deadline day is ever a good thing. Not even losing him to a premier league side or promotion chasing side. It's a team below us! There is no logic behind this decision at all. First time I'm seriously concerned by Evans' actions
It could be argued that he has learnt and that is why he is selling him with 6 months left instead of keeping him until the end of the season. Although it is madness to be selling your captain on deadline day to a team that is below you in the table.
If Chambers goes I could see it having a serious effect on the squad and actually losing 2 on the bounce which could lead to 3 or 4. First time I've even considered the thought of a relegation battle
'Mick has never been out of work for too long and maybe he is guilty of not choosing wisely when it came to Ipswich – but he’s the type of personality who loves a battle.'
This section I don't get. At the time MM probably could have taken a job with a team higher up the table but after turning us around his stock was even higher. Up until around March last year he was doing a very good job and he contradicts the point he is trying to make
Another game that season was our last away game versus Burnley. We needed to win to keep playoff hopes alive and I think they had just been promoted the weekend before or beat us to confirm promotion.
EDIT: It seems you may have put this match in the wrong season. The 12/13 game wasn't on sky as it was the game where Mings started his first game and also Marriot played
Beating Coventry away with a late own goal where the defender passed it back but the other side of where the keeper was. I think Bowditch chasing the defender done so 03/04 or 04/05
Also a recent on this day was us losing 2-1 to Cardiff at home under Jewell. I think this may have been Saturday evening and we conceded two goals from corners in injury time. I'm sure it was when Campbell scored with his hand possibly and after half time people had seen the replays and started the chant 'Dj Campbell he scores with his hand' which then changed to when he wants.
Edit: Don't think I've seen the home match against Newcastle when we renamed the north stand mentioned?
And was the Preston match when Nugent picked up Sito by the shirt after he was fouled right infront of the lino and only got a yellow?
