 | News Comment | Chelsea Trigger £30m Delap Release Clause at 19:11:47
Good point Carberry but with fans it's not about ability it's all about popularity we all know Delap is a better player than Hirst that's why there is so much interest in him Hirst is never going to stay fit for long spells so we have to sign another quality striker. |
 | News Comment | Town Keen to Loan Chelsea Striker Guiu at 18:52:03
History indicates that Hirst is unlikely to stay fit for long spells. These early rumours rarely turn out into any thing concrete. Some people are under the impression that Hirst is going to be our number one striker but i don't see that the Chelsea striker is very young we would require some experience as well i think. Kiefer Moore was very impressive for Sheffield United in the play off final his lay off for the Sunderland winner was class never really impressed me not enough goals and no pace. |
 | News Comment | Chaplin: The Club is in a Much Better Place Than it Was a Year Ago at 10:04:04
It's very hard during a difficult season to keep everyone happy you have to be careful not to make decisions that's going to upset team spirit. It's obvious McKenna is very popular with the players and the reaction after the West Ham game the fans apart from a few numpties on here are right behind the manager. It's vital we keep hold of the present coaching team. If we do have to replace them i hope it's not with one of the big name flops Gerrard, Rooney, Dyche etc Lampard's done ok at Coventry but he's already turned us down saying we are not big enough for him. It's important if we do have to bring someone else in he's got no baggage. There are up and coming coaches out there Keiran McKenna who's he never heard of him i rest my case. |
 | News Comment | Phillips: McKenna Made Me Believe in Myself Again at 09:39:14
The reason players didn't perform at their best was because they were not allowed to at a level that was above them unless you think the Premier league is no different to any other league some do on here. Phillips was very unfortunate but he didn't perform at West Ham either that makes me think he brought his injuries problems with him. Anyone who signs him should put him through a rigorous fitness test otherwise it could be a expensive mistake. |
 | News Comment | Town Bookies' Early Favourites For Championship Title at 21:50:24
I think Leicester have probably got the strongest squad at the moment although they could start the season with a points deficit. We didn't manage to register a single win against either Leicester or Southampton but i don't think it's got any bearing on next season's outcome. Birmingham could be a surprise package and like us they now have wealthy owners but i think playing hard games week in week out could be a telling factor. We will have to freshen the squad as some of the present players might find the motivation of another promotion push a bit much. Having said all this it's way too early to start making predictions until we know the make up of our squad. |
 | News Comment | Potter: I Felt Our Physicality Would Cause Ipswich Problems at 12:10:34
Spot on assessment by Potter people who disagree with him have probably never been near a football let alone got coaching badges. Players in the Premier league are stronger fitter faster and if can't see this you are not watching the game for example Sam Morsy very good player was an absolute animal in the championship but even he has struggled with the physicality of the Premier league. Omari Hutchinson's pace frightened championship defenders not in the Premier league. I think people who have been in the game see the game much differently fans just see it as eleven against eleven and can't really spot differences in class. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-3 West Ham United - Match Report at 21:15:15
If the players are not good enough and it's obvious they are not dosent make a difference what formation you play they are not capable of carrying it out. It was obvious after the final whistle today the support for Keiran McKenna is overwhelming not the slightest evidence of any booing at all. Although West Ham were poor today the gulf in class was there to see faster physically stronger in almost every department and more clinical in their finishing no tactics can change that. Clarke looked good when he came on when the pace had dropped. Broadhead showed some nice touches and would be a good Premier league player if he was much bigger physically. Morsy was looking good until he gifted West Ham a goal. Don't know about you but i am glad this Sky circus is over it stinks. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: My Favourite Midfielder I've Played With at 11:50:18
Morsy actually ended the season quite well and can still play a big role in the championship but we need to add a couple of young promising midfielders preferably from abroad where you get more value for your money not overpriced championship players i think we've learned our lessons. |
 | News Comment | Moyes: We're Among Clubs to Have Spoken to Delap at 11:39:22
Everton would be the ideal next step in his development. What he has achieved so far at such a young age is impressive but he is still developing and it is easy to over play youngsters who can then suffer burn out he would definitely get game time at Everton and David Moyes is a very underrated and experienced manager who would know how to bring him along and not over play him. |
 | News Comment | Forest Eyeing Davis at 19:54:10
Downes has proved in his time at Southampton that he still lacks maturity signing him would not be good for team morale. I can see the signing of Cresswell happening but in my opinion it's a bit of a backward step. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: I'm Confident We Can Challenge Next Season at 19:21:02
I have been saying for months our player recruitment should be world wide and Mick Mills commented on this on local radio (great minds). To make progress we need to make at least four good signings that are physically and technically capable of stepping up to the Premier league. If we stick to the same squad we will end up where we are now. I don't think i could stand another embarrassing season like we've just had and ive supported the team since 1963 . |
