You cannot buy a 20 goal a season striker. You can buy a striker that's potentially a 20 goal a season striker there's no guarantees. Piggott was a 20 goal a season striker potentially but didn't do it. Players don't just get given a run in the team they have to impress and earn it.
We got rid of two strikers who were woefully inconsistent hardly won a ball in the air and couldn't hold the ball up. I think most people who have played the game would have spotted that in two thirds of the pitch we were pretty good but in the last third we were poor and relied alot on Wes Burns.
Really like Macaulay like a lot of fans but i don't think sentiment shouldn't come into it. Would we be clamouring to sign him if he hadn't got any Ipswich connections. People say he offers something different but don't explain what. McKenna seems to be sticking by Piggott which is bit of a surprise. I think we need to splash the cash on another striker if we are going to get automatic promotion but with Piggott still at the club this is not going to happen i feel.
I think the fee is about right although all clubs ask more than what they really want and normally accept a bid somewhere near it. Peterborough might be a good move for him they seem to have a habit of producing good strikers.
Lots of sour grapes comments on here about his attitude. His attitude was obviously good at Swansea other wise he would not have got the move to Palace. The value of players is governed by the selling club we are not going to get big money for players playing in league one.
Like a lot of our over hyped and over rated youngsters National league standard soon to be joined by Dobra. Hope they all do well and get back into the EFL.
I think Rakeem Harper will have to up his game considerably to have a future at the club with McKenna strengthening the squad even more which tends to suggest that he has not. With the amount of signings we are making it's obvious McKenna was not happy with the squad last season and was not particularly bothered by not getting promoted and was just using it to have a good look at the players.
Total Richard Cranium we need players that are completely focused on the job ahead. Mind you if he'd had shown the same attitude as he did when he came on as substitute in his last game things could have been different.
I think Ndaba will be the surprise package this season he was outstanding for Salford last season and looks to have put on some extra muscle. Might have to wait his chance though but i think he might jump ahead of Cameron Burgess in the pecking order. With McKenna looking to add two more to the squad it's looking a very strong squad.
Anyone who's played the game will know like McKenna said these games very little. If we had beaten Daganham girl piper's some fans on here would be getting carried away. I thought the players modelled the kit very well. Joking aside i can see this squad with the extra physicality in the team winning promotion if we can stay clear of injuries. The important thing is we've four players in before the season has started and hopefully there will be no bedding in period.
I think we are well covered for in defensive midfielders. Celina would be the ideal signing six goals and six assists the most creative player at the club not bad for someone who is supposedly not very consistent.
I will judge the team when we come up against Millwall and West Ham who we have found it difficult to score against in past friendlies. Anyone who's played the game will know this was no test for the team.
Got better the more he played but with Evans now getting fit perhaps we don't require him. Or maybe McKenna was not happy with his attitude off the pitch. I think there are other areas that need strengthening more importantly.
