I am interested to read these articles, so please keep posting them, TWTD. I saw Maisie Barker play many times. She was part of the promotion squad and even featured in an Ed Sheeran YouTube video. I wish her all the best at Oxford.
Huge credit to Ed for his support for the club, and for steering us away from a gambling sponsor. The amount of betting advertising puts me off modern football, and I am glad Ipswich are not a big part of that (although we still have betting ads on the LED boards).
I think Halo will look smart on the shirt. I wonder if they have it all to themselves, or whether there will be a sleeve sponsor too. I think it looks less premium when there is also an advert on the sleeve, although understand why the clubs wants to maximise income.
Huge credit to Felixstowe and Walton Utd. Thank you to them and all the volunteers who made the matches possible. The ground had a great community feel and I really enjoyed going there, especially after a walk near the beach and lunch in town.
I had wondered if we would opt for Portman Road for WSL2 matches and continue cup games at the Martello ground, but sadly not to be.
I have enjoyed going to most of the matches at Felixstowe over recent years, as it is always a nice day out with a lunch and a walk along the promenade. The north of Colchester does not have the same appeal and it feels wrong to play in Essex, so sadly I will not renew my season ticket. I will go to any matches played at Portman Road, where we perhaps could have staged the 11 WSL2 matches a season.
There is an established fan base in Felixstowe, including adults, children and a few dogs! I wonder how many willl travel to Colchester and what the attendances will be like.
The Women's Championship matches were all on YouTube last season, so I guess the WSL2 games will be too.
My thanks to Burgess for his performances at Ipswich, which surpassed expectations. He looked just as good as Greaves in my opinion, a player who reportedly cost 20 times more. It is sad to see him leave for free, opting for a team which finished 11th last season rather than being part of our next promotion campaign. He will be missed.
I am glad the deal is done early so we can plan. £9m-odd profit in a season is not bad at all, hopefully with a sell on of 20% of any future profit Chelsea make if they sell him.
It may be better Delap doesn't play international football for a while as it may trigger another payment to Man City as part of the reported £15m rising to £20m deal.
We are been unfortunate with so many injuries and illnesses this season, that certainly has not helped us. I am so glad we can draw a line under a disappointing season which has highlighted the huge gap between the Championship and Premier League. I look forward to getting back to winning football once again. We certainly have players who can light up the Championship when fit.
It is not only us. Leicester and Southampton go back down too. Last season all three promoted clubs went down. The problem is with the Premier League and the financial set up in favour of the big clubs, which is about to get worse with the Club World Cup. We have come a long way since League One and ai expect we will challenge for promotion next season.
I just hope the £30m includes a sell on clause so if Man Utd sell him for £60m say later on that we get a share of that profit (as Man City reportedly will of ours).
VAR is dreadful and takes away the enjoyment of the moment. We knew that a year ago when Wolves proposed scrapping it, but all other Premier League clubs voted to keep it! We should hold the vote again and consult the fans. The game is supposed to be for us.
What a comeback! That team spirit will be hugely important next season, and is one reason I am confident of promotion. I know there will be some high profile departures, but many very good players will return from injury and we will make new signings too.
