League One Season Start Decision Delay
at 18:12:45

Surely in the circumstances we need to scrap the 2020/21 EFL Cup and EFL Trophy?

O'Neill: Lambert a Part of the Club's Plans Going Forward
at 20:11:03

It is abysmal to finish 11th in League One, below even Gillingham. How can the manager survive falling so short of the club's objectives, especially after failing to keep us in the Championship last season.

EFL Statement Rules Out Extended Play-Offs
at 16:22:20

Good. It would have been painful if the play-offs were extended to 10th place and after the weighted points-per-games average we STILL missed out! I would prefer all leagues to be ended now on the points-per-game games basis, confirming Norwich's relegation and leaving Ipswich to reflect on what we do regarding the abysmal state of our results under Lambert.

Finish it now on an average points basis. Why do we want to continue our misery? We are usually complaining about too many matches anyway.

Dobra on Target as U23s Draw at Cardiff
at 19:37:28

I found it very odd how, after coming on at Blackpool and doing so well, that Dobra was not used at all in the Fleetwood match. We invest so much in the youth academy, yet our side is one of the older sides in League One.

Lambert: Lads Gave Me Everything
at 18:44:04

I would be proud of them if they got promoted. I am not proud after yet another defeat in League One where we barely threatened them. The club needs to raise its standards and stop accepting this.

Lambert: Marcus Will Do What He Wants to Do, I Don’t Sit and Worry
at 15:00:34

I don't think Lambert can moan too much about lack of resources. He was allowed to sign England's top goalscorer James Norwood, Ireland International Alan Judge, £500k Kane Vincent-Young, Will Keane who we all thought we couldn't afford. The wages of those guys can't come cheap. Are you telling me that the likes of Fleetwood, whose attendances often don't hit 3,000, have a budget anywhere near ours?!

I do agree that over time Evans' lack of investment has made us uncompetitive at Championship level, but I see no excuse for our terrible League One form.

Lambert Hopeful on Skuse and Huws
at 10:51:07

At least those two have a chance of winning the ball in the air in midfield. Our lack of aerial ability in defence and attack is really standing out now, take how Fleetwood's number 6 won everything on Tuesday night.

Lambert: That Was a Sore One
at 19:35:02

Pretty much every same is a sore one, and has been for months. The season is a sore one. Last season was a sore one. How on earth had Lambert earned a 5 year contract?!

Lambert: Home Games Make or Break
at 18:32:15

It is make or break. Let's get behind the team and hope for 'make'. If it is 'break' then it is hard to see positive reasons why the manager should continue given it would be a big failure not to go up. I am just looking at Lambert's record since he left Norwich eight years ago. He left Villa 18th in the Premier League. He left Blackburn 15th in the Championship. He left Wolves 15th in the Championship. He joined Stoke and failed to keep them in the Premier League. He joined Ipswich and failed to keep us in the Championship. Ipswich are not playing well and are outside the play-offs. It is hard to see the positives at the moment.

Lambert Still Targeting Top Two
at 12:46:44

Absolutely right, Lambert's objective has to be promotion. I hope it is a condition of his contract. A second season in League One would be a failure. Finishing behind teams with budgets far smaller than ours would be a failure. I hope we succeed.

Skuse: Talks On Future Under Way

Skuse has been a good servant to the club, but funds will be so limited in our second season in League One. What are we going to change to turn us into a promotion winning side?

Lambert: We Dominated the Game But We've Got to Be More Ruthless
at 07:23:01

Enough chances to win 2 or 3 games?! Amazing comment considering our blatent lack of creativity. Our wing backs would probably be happier at centre back. None of our midfield three are attacking midfielders.

Lambert: We Should Have Been a Couple Up After Excellent First Half
at 18:26:19

“The pressure’s off to that extent."

Just a reminder that we are Ipswich Town Football Club, with one of the biggest squads and wage budgets in this league, if not the biggest. To be outside the play-off places means we are failing and need a big improvement. The pressure is on. If Lambert cannot get the best out of this squad he needs to bring in coaches to help him to do, and fast.

Dobra on Target But Red-Carded as U23s Draw at Colchester

I'd like to see him brought off the bench for 20 minutes here and there, let him use his pace against tired defenders (and little time to get sent off!)

Lambert: We Lost to the Better Team
at 18:37:09

That's twice in a week we have been well beaten by a better team. We are in League One! When you look at our squad and wage bill these performances are embarrassing. It makes me wonder whether the management and coaching staff are failing to get the best from the players, or whether the players are not good enough. Either way, losing at home to a third tier side like that today was a new low.

I think it if we stick to the same team and formation for the rest of the season we will win the majority of the matches. Hopefully our bad spell is behind us now and we can march onto promotion.
