How shocking not to tell the players and fans until AFTER they narrowly lost out on winning the league on the final day. They could have won the league and been celebrating promotion, as our women's team did Sunday, only to find out it was all for nothing.
Perhaps we could look at one or two of their star players as they will surely want to leave now.
Yes, a huge cost for fans and bad for the environment too for all those people to travel the length of the country when the match could have been help up north.
Wembley should be special. It should only be for finals and England internationals.
I think things will get more static, with those teams staying mid table in the Premier League for years. The top five will stay the same with their extra Champions' League money, plus the Club World Cup money that Chelsea and Man City will get. The promoted teams will be relegated every season. It could get rather boring.
The parachute money skews the Championship title race too, with the same teams going up. At least we are one of those clubs now, and that is why last season's promotion was so huge. The play-offs mean clubs without parachute money have a chance of promotion too, albeit next to no chance of staying up when they get there.
The only solution is fairer distribution of the wealth to make it more competitive. If they don't, I wonder whether interest in the Premier League will dry up, and along with it the TV subscriptions. Who wants to watch a league with no relegation scrap, and where the big clubs always qualify for the Champions' League even if they finish fifth?
The Championship is much more interesting this season, and at least the play-offs give other teams besides those with parachute money something to play for.
Agreed, it is very dull and not worth paying TV subscriptions to watch. With a quarter of the Premier League qualifying for the Champions' League, that is rather boring too as the big money clubs can easily qualify.
I agree, and it will get worse as competitions are being changed and set up so the big teams play each other all the time, such as the Nations' League and Club World Cup. There is saturation coverage on TV for those willing to pay for the subscriptions and watch the advertising.
We already have this as fans are left to watch the pitch-side advertising boards while the VAR teams ponder their decisions.
I refuse to do a second cheer when VAR confirms a goal I have already celebrated. The system needs to make instant decisions or be scrapped in my opinion.
Leicester finished ahead of us last season and have years of Premier League cash behind them. If we finish ahead of them it will be progress on last season, and a small positive to end the season with.
Do I recall mention of a sell-on clause too? Villa reportedly bought Philogene back from Hull for £13m when we bid £18m for that reason. Why we then reportedly paid £22m a few months later I am not sure, hopefully the fee was really lower!
