Makin- Europe still possible.

We also had two home games at Easter, Villa on the Saturday when we hit the post and Schmeichal made two blinding saves.
Chelsea Easter Monday when Marcus Bent had his penalty saved.
Both games finished 0-0.

Paid for this afternoon’s footy
How much is Evans to blame?
at 20:59 29 Oct 2020
I’ve read every comment, and all points have been covered with reasoned arguments, but the biggest failing for me which hasn’t been mentioned, and this is by no means a slight on him, as the football and enjoyment was probably the best in the last 20 years... but Joe Royle really should have got us promoted in 2005, not via the playoffs either, but as champions.
Those two home defeats in a week to Watford and QPR really cost us and wiped out our lead at the top, even then we had a chance with a win at Leeds later on.
The Kuqi injury was unlucky as well, and he should have been replaced with a Rob Hulse type, not Scowie.
If we’d have gone up that season then maybe none of the Evans era may have happened....

Absolutely spot on.... I also felt Scowcroft was the wrong signing and we should have got Hulse from Crewe on loan.
Conceding in injury time just after going in front was criminal at Reading, and then those two home defeats in a week against Watford and QPR was the icing.
Loved that season for excitement and nothing has really been close since.
And yes, if we’d have won promotion that season it’s very unlikely Marcus Evans would have come in.... love hindsight
When you look at the squad Jim Magilton had

The big mistake with that squad was not pushing the boat out and signing Gio on a season long loan the following season.
He’d have torn the league up like Taraabt did for QPR.

I think the issue is the position we were in, top of the table with games in hand, to where we find ourselves now after such a poor run.
If we’d have just won another 5 of those 4 wins in 20 we’d still be top and in a good place for the run in.
We/Lambert has royally screwed this up.

I was going to post the other day.... The football gods have conspired against us for
1. Bryan Gunn’s air kick
2. Megsons last minute bullet header OG.
3. Haynes last minute handball winner
I’m sure there are others against the scum

Another ex scum manager.... as if we haven’t suffered enough already

If he’s half as good as Dalian he’ll be alright, just hope he is left to play free and easy
Jackson, Norwood, Keane, Sears
at 15:41 3 Mar 2020
Norwood and Jackson for me, if it wasn’t for Norwood’s injury I think we would be top two now, they were playing well as a partnership and gaining an understanding prior to that injury.... oh and squad rotation, and messing around with the keepers
