I've always thought this regarding having more tax bands. To increase tax or not increase is always such a big political point and fundamental to any party mainfesto. But why are taxation levels always mentioned rather than the tax bands. The massive jump between standard and higher rates doesn't make much sense to me. It would bring in more revenue and be a better scale of afordability to all. I guess because its something that would never get voted in... [Post edited 25 Apr 14:26]

Football isn't for you. I've said this a few times but this dumb post really reinforces it. I sincerely hope no member of our playing squad reads it. How can any side be Premiershsip ready (that is a recently relegated parachute club). Just think about it? But perhaps actually find something else to do on a Saturday. |

you'd be wrong then. Quite a few tickets from the last 3 games have been sold via the resale platform. Not huge numbers but then the number of season ticket holders giving up their ticket won't be huge at the moment either. The staff member i spoke to said ticket office are quite happy with how its worked. I have used it for one game i couldn't make and it was so easy to do. My ticket sold almost immediately. |
| Forum Reply | Do we want a Southampton win tomorrow now then? at 12:11 23 Apr 2024
No, because a draw puts Leicester 3 points ahead of us which is not good because of their GD. It means they have to drop points in both the last two games which is unlikely. A draw is not a good result, we need southampton to win i think, people are too concerned with Southampton. Sotuthampton and Leeds can't both win on the last day [Post edited 23 Apr 12:13]

indeed....thats what gives me hope over those last two games, they look fallibale at the back. Anyway...we can still win our last 3, going to be tough but we've had the prep for it so why not? think it's advantage we'll know exactly what we need to do! |

You make a very good point. Ladapa scored two fantastic goals v Cardiff literally after the window closed. No one was harping on about the striker issue then You're not going to get a quality striker to sit on the bench behind Hirst and we also can't over expend ourself finacially so don't understand those knocking the club for not bringing in astriker at that point. It was Ladapo who subsequently dropped off a cliff for whatever reason. ANd something has happened. Maybe he wasn't good enough but he became a shadow of the player he was, for whatever reason, look he can't even get a look in at Charlton now which shows something is up. |
| Forum Thread | I thought Leeds would win last night but i'm encouraged.... at 10:54 23 Apr 2024
I expected Leeds to win last night against a team with nothing to play for (realistically) and because of how open Boro looked against us. We really could and should have scored a fair few against them and I expected Leeds attacking line up to be too strong. Now whilst I of course hoped Boro could get something i'm not deflated at all, in fact i'm quite optimistic. Leeds struggled to get over the line in that game. To concede 3 and be hanging on shows they are fallible, they are not clicking as they did a few months ago. QPR may be a weaker side than boro, but they still need something and will see a point as huge. I can fully see them battling for a draw. I'm more hopeful that QPR can get that than i was with Boro. Then saints the last day, saints will probably be playing for nothing, but they have some cracking attacking players and again i expect them to cause Leeds problems. Can see a high scoring game go either way. I think we will get a draw v Hull but have faith in the boys to win the last two. Which just means we need Leeds to fail to win one of their last two. I'm optimistic of that happening. [Post edited 23 Apr 10:55]

| Forum Reply | Will you be disappointed… at 09:00 23 Apr 2024
That is the fear. That one of the most memorable seasons ever could be forever tarnished by a memory of them ending it for us and themselves potentially getting promoted at our expense. Can you imagine, we'll never hear the end of it from them until the day we hit our graves. The possibility is far too great for my liking. Not sayng it's going to happen and i'm still confident if we do play them but I'd rather not have the possibility of it happening at all. [Post edited 23 Apr 9:02]

No. We can't expect to get promoted by other teams not winning anymore. We've benefits more than we could have hoped by other esults in the last few weeks to be honest. It's in our own hands, thats all we can ask for. I was slightly defalted after each of our last 3 games but not bcause of what others do its out of our control. I mean we've got to earn promotion not expect it to be given to us. And i'm still confident we can and additionally. i still think there will be a dropped point or two elsewhere but that said we need to go out and do what we need to do. |

I thought with your job you we're someone who would have some intelligence and not believe this kind of nonsense. You do know cloud seeding can't deliver that volume of rainfall. The two are not related. No one is denying they cloud seed, they do and its effective in arid climates, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the extreme weather event that occured. |

Am i the only person who think Leeds will win. They are clearly going to have a response. Its last chance saloon for them and Boro season over now. They way Boro will play will suit Leeds too....very open as they were against us, so far cry from blackburn and trying to steal a goal on the break. Hope they have an off day and Boro turn up but i can't see it. |
| Forum Reply | Hudderfield tickets at 16:09 18 Apr 2024
They did do a ballot and it was a pretty good system. As a student at the time (1998-2001) who couldn't afford a ST and lived some distance away it made attending a handful games a possibility that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. I think i got to go to 3 or 4 via the ballot as remember going to games v Leeds, West Ham, Spurs and Torpedo Moscow! I think they should so something similar. Keep 1,000- 2,000 tickets for a ballot as it allows fans with no recent history or points total the chance to go. Students are a prim example. For instance someone could have been away for the last 3 years and not really had the chance to go to games. It seems unfair that they'd have little chance of getting a ticket for future seasons based on current priority criteria. As they could be the next generation of ST holders as once i became a fulll time employed i bought a ST. Today's youngsters may even find that difficult to do until capcity is increased if the team's success continues. |
| Forum Reply | If every team wins their remaining games and Southampton win the head to heads at 13:32 18 Apr 2024
I’m reasonably confident 2 wins and 95 points will get us promotion. It would need to be near perfect results elsewhere in the remaining games in terms of the other clubs getting wins for it not to be. I’m also fairly confident we’ll win our last home game. So if we can get a minimum of 1 win from the two away games I think we do it. |

Fecking hell. 12 months on are we still going on about this and deliberately trying to be provocative. Only just a few days away from one of the biggest week's in Town's recent history Not just aimed at you Steve but the thread and comments in general. Just seems a bit unecessary to me. |

Boro were lucky to be still in the game when they got those two chances. Had it been 3-1 to Town at that point, and it really should have been i don't think anyone would have said it was't deserved. We ran out of gas not surprisnly and both the late chances for Boro came as we tried to push forward a bit more to make something happen. We had an amaing amount of oppoertubies: Chaplin from the corner Chaplin from the cutback Sarminteo hitting post Burgess header, it skimmed off him but he should have buried it, it was a real chance Omari x 3 plus the goal we scored And that's not even counting the couple of chances that only just went over the bar that were decent chances in that they weren't speculative. We played superbly well and I really don't get the notion we huffed and puffed. Maybe for a bit of the 2nd half but for 60 mins we were superb. That first half was exceelent against a good side in form. |
