I love Ipswich!

It's only a game, lets try win the next one, or the one after that. We've won more than we've lost so it's not too bad.

Can I moan now? We are mentally weak, as Dollers said, we have a losing mentality in big games, playing well means nothing if you don't score.

You are spot on. I didn't go yesterday despite having a ST, not because I couldn't but because I knew what was coming after the Rotherham game and 200 mile round trip is too much to watch an ailing team in L1.

A lot of people at the club should be made to sit down and read these messages and how it makes people feel, not because of one or two bad results or being bad losers but because of 15 years of a downward spiral and the club slowly dying a death and leaving people without any hope or joy from football. I'm not sure football is cyclical anymore, i don't see the club ever being competitive at top end championship level again anymore. We are a Rotherham type club now with a history, although granted we are not even as good as Rotherham currently which says it all.

the West Hams playoff games still haunt me to this day, especially after being so well placed after the two first legs of each tie

I think someone has already made the point to you that Rotherham played pretty much as they did at PR.....so we haven't learnt too much. How many times do we have to play Rotherham and get taught a lesson to learn something??

Or maybe Lambert just isn't a very good tactican?

Last time I felt good at winning a pressure game i think was beating WIgan 2-1 under Royle in 05/06 when we should have gone up automatically but then screwed up finished third and lost to west ham in playoffs who were about 12 points behind us

if we'd played like Rotherham...what had a game plan!? But we didn't and got a 1-0 thumping.

Are you not worried that we have not beaten a side in the top 9 this season?

you're totally blinkered. Rotherham are ok but you make it sound like we've just played Manchester City or something. We were woeful this evening, in fact 'woeful' is being kind

Darth.... so then how do you explain the below record, (credit to Chrisd for the stats as posted on another thread):

We've played the current Top 10, 11 times this season in the league so far and our record is:

Played - 11
Won - 1 (Burton Albion away)
Drawn - 7
Lost - 3 (Rotherham twice and Portsmouth away)

Points total of 10 from a possible 33. For a side that has aspirations of getting promoted that's woeful.

yep, completely agree. I think we might scrape the playoffs but only because of some favourable fixtures at home remaining....but i think we have zero chance of winning them.

Lambert has shown nothing this season, i really can't count many games we've dominated....nearly two thirds way through season in LEAGUE 1 and we are struggling in most games to exert any authority....i think that lies with Lambert more than the owner or the playing staff!

All of this just reiterates to me that Lambert is not a very good manger or tactician. I'm very disappointed we'be given him a 5 year contract, i'm totally unconvinced by him. Most managers with this squad could beat the likes of accrington and Tranmere

Still haven’t beat any team sitting in the top 8....8
at 21:46 28 Jan 2020

Top 9 actually.
That's pretty telling and even if we end up getting a playoff place what chance have we got if we can't beat the better sides.
Top 2...not a chance

Lambert still doesn't have a clue regarding tactics and this team as far as i'm concerned

big troubles lie ahead. We've beaten accrington and tranmere recently but i don't think the bad form from pre xmas has quite gone, we've not beaten a side in the top 10 of the table. That's pretty telling and even if we end up getting a playoff place what chance have we got if we can beat the better sides.

How badly have we been ripped off by Millwall then?
at 08:25 28 Jan 2020

The amount of bed wetting over this transfer is ridiculous. I love how so many who have absolutely no idea about the dealings of transfers feel they can advise what the club should have done. How do you know that this was not the best or only deal possible. His wages are huge for a club in our position.
This is a player that was dreadful for us in our last season and didn’t help our cause in a relegation season.
The issue here is not so much that the club have screwed up a dealing it’s the fact we were relegated. Sometimes transfers don’t happen when a multi million pound bit is made, such as for Dids and Bart, but unfortunately it does not mean you will be able to seek a similar deal 12 months down the line. It’s life. Moving Bart on to Millwall leaves us in a better position financially than him not moving on. Yes we all want more money for the club but sometimes you just have to look at the situation. L1 clubs don’t tend to get overly large fees and certainly not for a GK who clubs know we need to get off our books

Starmer politicising a family member in hospital. Very cheap.

I actually think Hampstead_blue might be ill and needs some help of some kind, perhaps because of what he has been through (PTSD?). Continuing to peddle these not very pleasant views is not going to help him one bit and I'm another one that has added him to the ignore list.

The guy completely lost the plot through the election and seems to be on the same path unfortunately.
