This is what happens when one of the top posters on the board with usually detailed analysis and logic, shows their bias. This completely ignores the 200 or so seats gained by the Lib Dems and Greens. |

I interpreted your point as net consumption rather than just consumption alone - because assumed you were making a sensible point given that noone has suggested they shouldn't use any services at all as that would be ridiculous and infantile. That does exist already, if they meet certain criteria (skills etc), but if you go much further than that you're *almost* in open borders territory. Idealistically, I agree with you. Sadly doing either as an isolated country is just madness. |

There are tens of thousands of these "mythical creatures" every year. To suggest they don't exist is a bit nonsensical. Imagine a world where the toxicity of the debate is cut down - and the government could actively go out and try and increase highly skilled migration. Fleeing war - yes we should definitely do our bit - which we do. Fleeing persecution - yes we should definitely do our bit - which we do Just want a better life - assuming people don't come here for a worse life, then no as that applies to every potential migrant. That should not be enough on its own. [Post edited 3 May 9:24]

Good to know. A couple of the ones I've seen close look like it might have been an excuse for the mods to get out of it. Glad to hear you and Phil are still glutton for punishment. Will you need to know our ages? |

Talk about being fancy. In my primary school they just called it playtime. |

He's not said that though, has he. Lowhouse has rightly pointed out the relatively higher support for Reform UK within the working class compared to other classes. If people say voting Reform = racist, then on that logic the working class are more likely to be racist too. In fairness, you have correctly pointed out that the majority of working-class voters still support other major parties. Reassuringly, you're right. Neither of your points is necessarily contradictory with each other - but only one of you is being an abusive, sanctimonious troll, and it's not Lowhouse. |

Seen quite a few forums shut down as a result of the OSA - how much of this is over-caution? Interested to know how it impacts TWTD - especially given the burden of the risk assessments that all online forums are required to complete. Well meaning legislation, but too broad a brush? |

in a parallel universe - Libby sees this response, we agree we just have a different opinion on how to deal with the issue and move along. |

You won't see this - but it's pretty pathetic to be having constant pops at a poster you've put on ignore. What a spineless and cowardly way to have an argument. Embarrassing. |

All I did was downvote a post - to be called a massive whopper, nasty etc. I then replied with a detailed explanation of what my downvote meant. There's been empathy in each of my responses on this - but it doesn't seem to suit a certain narrative to even acknowledge that. |

Again, completely sympathise with this. But your last line is the one I find troubling - it's the same people who are currently voting (or would like to vote) for Reform that we do need to constructively engage with rather than take the easy option of calling them horrible names. |

Even 4% is a significant step forward when you think about the sheer volume involved. 10% would be very good news. Individuals have a role to play, but technological advancements like this are what we need on a massive scale. |

If I knew the answer to that - I'd have better things to do than be on here! You’re right that a lot of people aren’t swayed by evidence anymore, but they’re definitely not swayed by being abused, talked down to or morally condemned either. Would you agree on that as a starting point? |

Yep, that level of debate will make the future better for everyone. I'm not offended on behalf of others. I'm offended on behalf of myself and the future I'll have to live in because people's minds won't be changed by approaches like yours. |

You could at least bother to engage with the detailed justification... |

One of the challenges with the ignore system - is that when you throw an accusation out there - and then ignore immediately - they don't see the response which I think is perfectly reasonable. And I only know that because I've just tried to PM Libero and found out he's ignored me. |
