Judging by Mick's comments, if anyone played on Saturday, they won't be in the side. I feel that's only different for Downes, Nydam and Rowe as they only made cameo appearances. Gerken as captain, then for me Woolfenden will 100% start after his 45 minutes against Luton. All of our full backs played, leaving Webber and Fowler to take up these positions, whilst Chris Smith will have to come in too, since he's the only other CB not involved with the Under 23's today. Rowe and Celina confirmed starters and I'd imagine as it's such a young side that he'll play a routine 4-4-2. McDonnell and Nydam get the nod in CM for me, although Downes could replace either of these. Up front, I'm not sure which of the striker he will play. I'd assume Patterson will as he's got international experience, and Morris scores for fun in the youth levels, meaning the others drop to the bench.

Given the current injury list, and the idea that Mick won't change a winning system, I think the back 6 picks itself. Bart should always be the first name on the team sheet. Whilst I think we'd be better off playing Spence at RWB with Iorfa at CB, the back 5 remains as it was on Saturday for me, there's no point in changing it. Skuse is so vital to our side, despite all the abuse he gets, I really rate him. Does the simple things that keep us ticking over and ensure we aren't easily hit on the counter attack. Then, to add some attacking prowess and creativity, I'd have Grant Ward, who is fit again after his calf injury, just in front of him in an inverted triangle midfield. Alongside him, the nimble Tristan Nydam who is the likely candidate to start, given Downes has played in all of the games so far and probably needs a break. Garner is the obvious choice up top, but I think he works best with Sears. Someone with tireless running to get on the end of his headed flick ons , something that should hopefully flourish into a partnership like Freddie had with Murphy a couple of years ago. The subs pick themselves for me. Leaves options to change the system and add style, hopefully we see more of Celina, McGoldrick, Waghorn and McDonnell too.

With current players fit, probably our strongest XI and bench. I'd go 4-1-3-2, Skuse holding in front of the defence. Ward in the #10, Rowe and Celina on the wings. Sears further forward to make use of Joe Garner's knock ons from goal kicks.
