 | News Comment | Chaplin's Portsmouth Loan Return Confirmed at 22:06:17
Feels a bit of a shoddy way to treat a player of his pedigree and loyalty, not to mention skill. We’re looking badly misaligned in the championship and Chaplin was probably one of our best chances to address that. I hope I’m wrong |
 | News Comment | Town to Sign Norwich Midfielder Nunez at 23:24:58
He's got his work cut out to win over Town fans. Andy Marshall did his best, but wasn't the greatest 'keeper tbh. Didn't go much better for John Deehan. I still remember hearing people shouting, in their best Suffolk accent: JOHN DEEHAN IS A HAS BEEYUN! |
 | News Comment | McAteer: Familiar Faces Will Help Me Integrate at 12:56:48
Sometimes, a change of scene and club can work wonders. We know KMcK has an excellent track record of developing players, too. We’re in for a tough old season and it’s time for everyone to stop the carping and get right behind the team! |
 | News Comment | Birmingham City 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:28:04
From the Sky footage, it looked like Chaplin was the one Town player who did appeal for the handball for the penalty. That, and kicking the ball into the home fans probably kicked it off. But Birmingham’s no. 4 should have been sent off for clattering into Chaplin after the penalty went in. Not a great performance, but a point away from home is never to be sniffed at. |
 | News Comment | Besiktas Targeting Cajuste at 17:51:14
Nice change to see a £10m price tag and know we could afford that. I expect his wages might be tricky on top |
 | News Comment | Tuanzebe Linked With Trabzonspor at 12:09:40
I don't claim to be an expert, but it seems to me to be pretty obvious why a player, whose contract is running out, would choose to move, rather than stay, despite being offered a new contract: money Simply by moving clubs, the player can maintain, or improve their annual pay, while gaining a signing-on fee from the new club. So, in simple financial terms, a player may be much better off doing that, than staying on their existing contract. And it's much harder for the parent club to compete with a club, which is saving millions of pounds through not paying a transfer fee and is thereby able to pay a hefty signing on fee to the player. I have no idea if that is what happened with recent departures, but it seems to me to be the best move for the player and their familiies, given how short their careers are at best, which may be cut short at any moment by injury. |
 | News Comment | Delap Chelsea Move Edging Closer at 15:12:13
It's a real shame we're losing him, would have loved to see him tear it up in the Championship. But at 22, with a World Cup around the corner and the chance to play in an established Premier League side that is not in freefall (Man U - not us!), the Chelsea move makes a lot of sense. Will follow his season with interest and, no matter what, will still regard him in a way as one of our own. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Cajuste is a Player We Like a Lot at 17:49:42
If we do decide to go for him, that would be an incredible statement of intent. Our biggest problem will be competing with a premier league side, particularly the newly promoted ones who will have noticed his capabilities. We can but hope and in Kieran we trust! |
 | News Comment | McKenna Commits Future to Town at 14:41:42
Excellent news! I'm the most positive I've ever been about an impending relegation, and I've seen a few! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We've Managed and Played the Second Half Really Poorly at 00:09:38
Such a frustrating result - it’s getting hard to see where the points will come from now. And is it just me or did we look complete shattered in the second half, as though we had zero energy to take the ball forward? I don’t think it’s rocket science and I do trust McKenna all the way. But we so badly need to start winning some games now. |
 | News Comment | Aston Villa 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:22:23
So impressive - Delap with an outstanding goal and Palmer making some unbelievable saves. A shame about the red card as that undoubtedly ruined our overall game plan. But what grit, what determination to bring it home. COYB! |
 | News Comment | Hurzeler: Never a Red Card at 09:54:55
I can’t say what I’d like to in response to him, at least not on this platform. The number of blatant decisions against us this season is ridiculous. It would be illustrative to compile clips of these, hopefully to say we stayed up despite the officials’ best efforts. |
 | News Comment | Cunha Banned For Two Games and Fined For Town Melee at 12:38:47
There would be nothing to prevent a criminal allegation for common assault being made. True, the punishment would be likely to be nominal, but he will have a criminal record to his name and fines to pay. In addition, a civil claim for material damage could also be brought. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: A Devastated Dressing Room at 09:34:33
Devastating result but, hand on heart, I’m so proud of my team. Back-to-back promotions made this season a huge ask and we’ve got a squad playing out of their skin against established Premier League teams. It’s going to come good, keep the faith and trust the process. |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 0-1 Crystal Palace - Match Report at 23:43:26
Broadhead showed some promise, Al Hamadi was at least going for it and Greaves was one stumble away from a great game. Worrying that a bang average Palace side contained us without breaking a sweat. This was always going to be a very tough season, it’s going to get worse before any chance of an improvement I’m afraid. |
