McKenna: A Good, Solid Team Performance
at 08:17:39

It was very interesting that when Hutchinson went down on the 15th minute he appeared to get minimal treatment. He also received a very warm pat from KM on the sidelines. From that moment the game changed incredibly. Tactical masterpiece, and I for one would love to know whether that was set for 15 minutes, was discussed as being something to try if we started poorly (it has been a theme lately) or if Hutchinson thought it was required. Either way it appeared to be a mini time out and worked a treat. BRILLIANT.

The away support sounded fantastic on TV huge congratulations to them as well.

We are still in this fantastic season and I am going to enjoy it whatever happens from here on. It has been too long not to just celebrate this success.

How sad, what an absolute legend. How much pleasure he gave so many of us. What a team and what a striker.❤

Colchester Owner Cowling Hits Out at Mindless Thugs
at 11:43:50

I found that to be a really humble statement from a club official who was obviously not only embarrassed on this occasion, but also appeared shocked and appalled that something like this could happen in a football stadium.

Regardless of the club you support or the background you have I struggle to understand why causing damage to infrastructure or other people, is a way to celebrate or commiserate.

Not sure I have the intellect or expertise to understand it or blame it on anything, I would just prefer this, and other populist tribalism in society, did not happen.

Notts County 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 12:48:46

I wouldnt profess to be an expert, but in my opinion Skuse and Jackson were the stand out performers. Skuse in particular was reading the game very well and did not look out of place when dropping in to the right back position. His passing was noticeably better than any of the other Town representatives. I was also impressed with Rowe when he came on, again linking well on the right with Skuse. In the second half Dobra showed some real flashes of skill.

I also thought that both Guthrie and Wilson would represent useful short term punts as defensive options, say a 6 month contract. This would offer them an incentive to earn a longer deal at limited risk to the club, obviously if they really shine we could end up with them moving to bigger clubs, but we dont have much cover now so maybe it would be a pragmatic solution.

Great to see so many travelling, admittedly being local I cant claim that credit on this occasion.

Hurst: No Ill Effects for Dozzell But Kenlock Still Out
at 14:31:09

Really:
'' I had a conversation with someone here, they said it would almost be good if you played the youth team [who are currently top of their league]. The youth team wouldn't win a game of football ''

Only reason I can see for that rationale would be to silence critics/fans which would be unfortunate for those playing in that game.

Perhaps a more pragmatic approach would be to win a game with a team he picks?

Hurst: Solid Return From Jonas
at 08:47:30

Agree Suffolkboy. I am looking forward to the new season and really excited about a new approach on the pitch, but struggling to understand the approach to the media of the new manager. That said it could be a very shrewd way of managing fans, players and the press if he has, as I suspect, totally different conversations with the players in private. Lets see how it shakes up, on and off the pitch.

Academy Starlet Knight Set for Manchester City
at 09:07:39

Under 16 years old and being 'bought' for £1m. I hope he remains ok as a kid because that must be incredible pressure at such a young age.
Not sure I could have maintained my sanity at that age (not sure I did and I wasn't worth a rabbit and a conker to Newmarket Upper School first XI :)

Burley Applies for Town Job
at 14:49:52

Whilst some are rightly taking the emmotion out of their judgement on this one,it doesnt look like anyone is hugely revolted by the idea, so this could be a good solution. We as fans will have to give anyone time though.

Personally I would be over the moon to see these too back and know that loads of that is nostalgia, but isnt a Kuqi appointment to some degree?

At worse the fact that George has applied raises the bar on the selection process as could you really appoint a big name untested (Lampard) or someone who has recently failed (Coleman) ahead of someone with so much proven experience?

Anyway back to my emotions, cant wait to tell the kids!!!!

Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom Linked With Blues Boss
at 16:59:18

I am led to believe that agents are often responsible for this type of ''source'' in order to drive up the leverage of their client whether that is with their curent employer i.e. increased terms or a '541T or get off the pot' approach to getting an extended contract or putting out feelers with new employers.
That said I believe in alot of unlikely things such as a saeson like '81 happening again.

McCarthy: Like Benyu, Morris Will Benefit From National League Loan
at 16:16:20

Morris did ok against Forest at Alfreton on Monday, but for me the outstanding performer was Nydam. Lightniing and aggressive when at left back and did not look out of place when switched to middle of the park for the last 15 minutes.
Some of the locals commented on Dozzell as a class act, but I think that was more about his press as I did not think he had the best game I have seen him play.

Bart: No Thoughts of Moving On
at 08:57:55

I think that this is a very professional, workman like attitude and reflects the honesty Bart, feels Mick has shown to him.

It is a bit confusing though that some of the comments on the message board over recent months regarding the managers ''blind faith'' in certain players are made by posters who are also desperate to get Bart back in the team. Given Gerkens recent form I wonder where the statistical evidence in terms of league position etc is that supports this view. Or is it just 'blind faith' or scapegoating? Either way lucky none of us are the manager eh?

McCarthy: Build on Huddersfield Draw
at 14:11:53

Flatey/BergholtBru you are both spot on. Some of the comments have gone beyond instant gratification and are now nearing on destructive. IF the players do read these boards then I am sure that these negative posts will just promote a more nervous performance. Whilst we are all customers and entitled to comment it is the players and manager more so, who will have their career negatively affected by their performance. Whilst loud support may influence a performance in a positive manner why on earth would booing or moaning make a similar impact?

Korona Confirm Malarczyk Joining Town

Hope it turns out well for him and us, but he has been with them for 14 years and is only 24 years old so is home sicknes a worry?
That said after seeing some of the options available at Doncaster on Tuesday I do not think we need worry about strength in depth. Emmanuel looked very assured and we have 2 nailed on left backs with 3 awesome centre backs.

Doncaster 1-4 Town AET - Match Report

Some really good performances tonight and the strength in depth is becoming apparent. Toure, Didz and Alabi stood out for me and Emmanuel looked quite assured.
Nice to see Smith taking on a leaders role in the first half.
Recognising I am only a fan and not a professional manager I thought Kenlock struggled at times and really not sure what McDonnell offered, he did not look very happy on the ball at all.
Lovely numbers of town fans their too. COYB

Town Stay Third as Bournemouth Lose
at 12:32:17

Fully agree with RaymondovicBlue.

On Tuesday night Gary Rowett, a manager of a professional football team said:

"We felt even at half-time that the home fans were sounding like they were getting a little frustrated with one or two misplaced passes and we knew that if we scored in the second half then we'd give ourselves a massive chance.''

As in all competitive situations at a high level, very small margins are the difference between sucess and failure. If managers believe that fans can make a difference, however small, and are prepared to state this then it is probably the case.

Whilst I respect the point that as fans we pay our money and so are entitled to our opinion it could also be counter productive. You may buy a brand new car and a few weeks later not be entirely happy with all aspects of it, but would you then purposefully drive it into a ditch purely because you had invested in it and you can because it is yours?

We are in a really nice position and its a lot of fun, and regardless we will all still be here next season and the one after that so we should play the limited positive part we can (I can't imagine I am the only one gutted never to have been a player/manager). Dont forget how Burley was turned upon so quickly and we haven't really excelled since then.

COME ON. SO CLOSE!!!
