I don’t think in my amateur political viewing over the decades of my own political awareness have I seen a democratically voted in party that was in such a strong and powerful position in every area fall apart so rapidly.
When you think back to those halcyon days of COVID when they were unashamedly using it as a political weapon to push their agenda to where they are now.

I have not checked but it does feel (to me at least) there always seemed to be one semi at Villa Park and one somewhere else depending on the teams.

Indeed … the uefa club/country coefficient which I think runs over 5 seasons has England waaaay out in front and shows what an outlier of a season this one is which coincidentally has a rare 3 horse race for the league title.

It’s often been mentioned that the premier leagues competitiveness (as in quantity of teams able to beat others) and full on style of play does handicap its success rate in Europe.
Given that generally until very recently and still not always the Europa and conference aren’t taken as seriously as other countries do too.
With Spain having 2 and a half clubs,Italy 1 or 2 changing each year , Germany Bayern and sometimes dortmund and France psg… it’s quite different in the EPL with up to 10 and beyond teams that can take points off each other.

United got ipswiched, sadly though by the team I dislike more than Norw*ch.
I was trying to work out who the Judas shirt was for in the 2nd half held up by the delightful Chelsea fan when they got corners .. took me a minute Mason Mount’s squad number from Chelsea if anyone else was having a blonde moment.

I'm split on how I feel if the extra spots should go to the coefficient on the previous season or the ranking (is it 5 seasons? ) I see pluses and minuses for both options.

I guess what I'm doing here is dreaming of us getting up this season and making Europe ... certainly looks more doable than the past..a silly old romantic I am,

Cheers for that....that actually sums it up perfectly.
I'm not going to even begin to try and work out how many could be in Europe (Europa and Conference included) in total theoretically....but I'll have a stab at 10 ? ...half the league.
