 | News Comment | Planning Committee Unanimously Backs Aquatics Centre at 20:11:47
Ipswich biggest problem is transportation around the town centre. The “aquatics centre” (which appears in the video to have very little spectator capacity) sounds grand but seems to lack facilities to be more than a recreational facility (and at that one that is barely usable on match days due to congestion) with perhaps some small scale swim comps. A 1-2 level car park would suffice. A 7 level carpark will simply act as a magnet for more cars into the centre of town and more congestion. An alternative would be to build a smaller carpark for the new facilities than build a much larger car park out towards London Road/A12. To really act as a draw for the town, then connect that with an overhead monorail to the football ground, then to Cardinal Park, the dock area and the US campus. Could also spur into the town centre and to the Train Station. (Of course if the Govt and IBC continue to over tax businesses there won’t be much worth coming into the town for anyway - except football). In short I fear IBC has rushed into this because they felt a need to “do something” but in so doing may have missed an opportunity to really move the needle for the Town. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: Never in Doubt That Humphreys Would Have Amazing Season at Wycombe at 07:03:03
I think a problem we gave in general next season is that whilst players were willing to be a squad player in the EPL, they may be reluctant in the Champs. You can argue that’s specially true for those who were starters in our Promo team to the PL such as Woolfie, CamB, George and maybe also Wes, Chappers. Smodz also won’t want to be a rotation player. And Jack T imo needs first team football. Much will depend on who we can retain. IF Dara and Jacob were sold then easier for Woolie and CamB to stay and vice versa. Same for Liam vis George Likewise will CW want another season as back up in a lower level? Re midfield I really hope we can tempt Jens to sign. Can then see Mass leaving and I assume KP but you never know. He may not have other choices after an injury hit season and we do need another stopper to back up Sam (or vice versa). All told a lot of questions and moving parts for KM and MA to sort out this summer - and the season still has a month to run !!! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We Were at Full Stretch Even Before Red Card at 06:07:37
It’s really boring reading the same negative know-it-all stuff on here in multiple threads almost every day. Always from same guys. Yes Leif has been caught short this season but it’s been as much a learning curve for him as anyone else. (Meantime that goal he scores v Leicester from Sam’s pass was a moment of sheer magic). Others too have under performed at times but everyone has done their best and deserves respect not brickbats. Including the manager. Finally has to be said that injuries have been unkind to us and similarly Refs and VAR in first half of the season. But as we enter the Championship next season, we’re in a vastly stronger position than when we entered it two seasons ago. |

LJ suggest need a holiday away from social media. You write some half decent stuff occasionally but three quarters is long winded tosh. By the way virginblue was being sarcastic to you (not agreeing with you) about Hirst and Ings. To linkboy13, apologies for down voting your funny message re Muric. Clicked wrong button. |

We’ve got a lot of decent younger players many of who have been out on loan getting invaluable experience of adult football. Gerard B’s return is super positive and let’s hope that after almost three years of injuries, he is back fit to stay and fight for his right to part of the first team training squad next year |
 | News Comment | McKenna: An Important Week at 06:47:06
Not related to topic but why did Phil not allow a comments section on Aro’s driving conviction? My comment would have been “Since when do idiots who drive w/o insurance whilst illegally using a mobile phone not yet a driving ban??” Incredible |
 | News Comment | Premier League Introducing Semi-Automated Offsides at 06:24:59
If we look back at this season, I feel we’ve been on the wrong end of calls as often due to Ref mistakes as by VAR. Both are imperfect. The differences seem to me to lie in the excessive time taken for VAR officials to review and of course the high cost of both the VAR Tech and march officials. On balance id happily dump VAR. That said I believe goal line and offside technology are of value providing the systems are correctly programmed. There is also value in monitoring of the ball Incidents. |

Fortunate the number 9 wasn’t adjudged to be interfering with play. Would have been a tragedy if VAR had overruled this wonderful goal which was more than just the superb finish. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We're Increasingly Competitive and Still Fighting to Achieve Incredible Goals at 02:33:52
I think we need more Ukrainian fans!! They’ve had their backs to the wall for three years against a horrible bunch of thugs and criminals but do they ever talk of giving up or fighting in future to only defend a second division, cut-down version of their country? No. We on the other hand, sitting in comfort at home wherever that is, have nothing of a life or death nature to fear - so what do some do? Spend every waking minute posting about what they’d do better than Keiran or about what players we’ll have next season in the Championship. Or moaning about Leif. If it’s not Leif at LB it’s one of the Bennies at RB, or it’s Wes, Jack, Jaden getting stick on the wings. Clearly some fans have already surrendered. I’m thankful KM and the players haven’t..! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Hutchinson Injury Significant But Not Serious at 16:37:17
@peckam I think that’s right but also I believe KMcK’s coaching is heavy on communication to the players about tactics game and generally how to interact with each other in various situations. Add the challenge of most players having to learn the ropes of PL and I can see why he may have thought that coping with other languages was a bridge too far in this first season back. |
 | News Comment | O'Shea: This League Punishes You at 06:37:16
In another article here KMcK says (I paraphrase) ‘we have to defend better against (the wingers) to stop the crosses but then also defend better against the crosses that do come in’. I think that’s right. For whatever mistakes we made to let Son in, Johnson too easily got in front of our defenders to tap in the first, and was in acres of space to side-foot home his second. These are not isolated incidents and reflect fact we are still an immature PL side as a whole playing world class attackers. So yes the guys make mistakes but they’re working hard to improve and I feel we should refrain from pointing fingers in individuals and trust in KMc to sort out what needs sorting out. Also telling was DoS comment what KMc had warned the guys to shut out the outside noise. Spot on |

Hi Chripswich Sent you a PM re our Thailand WApp group! Nice post. Aro divided opinion for sure. Not so much re his skills which most could see were not yet all we needed in the PL, but more perhaps in respect of how much time we should give him or how critical to be. Ultimately many were very critical and it seemed to further weaken Aro. Either way it feels KMcK stayed loyal to him for too long esp with CW clearly ready to go. The next question of course will now be who plays out of Palmer and Walton when the latter is fit but if KMcK stays true to form he’ll stick with Palmer if he keeps delivering. |
