| Forum Thread | Three Rounds, Three Keepers at 17:44 31 Oct 2023
Have we ever fielded three different goalkeepers in consecutive rounds of a cup competition before? |
| Forum Thread | Whatever happened to regional Supporters Clubs? at 14:35 23 Aug 2023
You live in Berkshire so join the Official ITFC Thames Valley Supporters Club, who are allocated up to 200 tickets for Reading away to sell to its members, irrespective of away points. In fact I’m sure the new web portal could automatically assign you to the appropriate one and then make contact to see whether you would like to be in the ballot. Is there a reason I’m missing as to why this would be a bad idea or wouldn’t work? |
| Forum Thread | TWTD match reports in paperback? at 19:34 1 May 2023
Would this be feasible at all perhaps interspersed with pictures from the galleries? I always used to enjoy reading them when they were published in the fanzine and it would be lovely to flick through some of the memories of this season. Snippets of pre/post match and new signing interviews could even be included. There’s so much quality writing on this site and it feels like it would be great to have a collection of it all in one place to easily revisit a memorable season. Just some Bank Holiday evening musings. I know I would buy it anyway! |
| Forum Thread | Women's team fixture clash at 12:43 21 Apr 2023
Seems a real shame there’s not an opportunity to have a beam back of the men’s game at PR and then the women’s game straight after in front of a potentially large captive (drunk and happy?) audience. I assume work starts on the pitch immediately after Exeter? Anywhere around their usual ground for a beam back? |
| Forum Thread | Joe Royle at 22:48 30 Jul 2022
Asides from the actual match today, I was really quite sad to hear on Life's a Pitch earlier that Joe Royle has never come back to visit because he is not convinced he would be welcome. I think it may even have been Phil that mentioned it? I had hoped he may have been guest of honour for the Oldham cup match last season and would still love to see him back. I have some great memories of his tenureship. I know that ultimately he didn't 'achieve' anything in the sense that we didn't go up, but I loved his sense of humour and his teams were brilliant fun to watch, at a time when things were looking doom and gloom off the pitch. |
| Forum Thread | Nice to see the linesman in tears at the end at 22:14 30 Apr 2022
I assume it was his last match before retirement. What I imagine were his family had come to the match as he was embracing them in the stand after the game and he seemed very emotional to be leaving a job he must have loved. Gave me a sense of relief that it must have been a nice match to finish on and that he didn't have to be involved in any contencious decisions that could have seen him on the receiving end of any abuse. Also one of those nice little reminders we all need every so often that the match officials really are actual people too. |

to actually care again. I mean, not at this exact moment obviously. But the shackles of apathy that have been over 10 years in the making are finally breaking off. |
| Forum Thread | What is the most 'Ipswich' thing that could happen on Tuesday? at 20:19 15 Aug 2021
After seeing Scott Fraser miss his first penalty for Ipswich having scored 9/9 last season for another team, what hilarious and totally unpredictable mishap will befall us at Cheltenham? Personally, I am going for a headed OG from Cameron 'most aerial clearances' Burgess. What say you? (yes - this is a reverse jinx thread. Let's see fate get around this one) |
