FYI London fans - bus replacements back this weekend until April
at 09:32 14 Feb 2022

Sorry to ruin your Monday. Newbury Park to Shenfield this time. Games impacted: Burton, Pompey and Plymouth.

Can't say I've missed Newbury Park, the time it takes for the bus to turn into that station can feel age.

Polite reminder to some fans
at 11:54 8 Aug 2021

Yesterday in the Britannia stand there was an chap (60ish) in front of me with his grandkids. It was quite obvious from when he arrived he was clearly unwell and proceeded to cough for the majority of the match. It resulted in a few fans in and around moving seats, obviously concerned about a certain disease ...

Even if fans are double vaccinated, please be diligent and make sure you get tested if you feel unwell to ensure you are ok to attend. I appreciate he may have followed protocols but it unfortunately created a bit of weird feeling during the game. I don't want this to come across as a moan, more of a courtesy to other fans moving forward.

Minus that, it was great to be back and see some familiar faces :)

Holland 88 - "Ipswich" Kit Question/Random fact
at 10:48 22 Jul 2021

I got this book for my birthday recently - The A to Z of Weird & Wonderful Football Shirts

Whilst reading through I discovered one of the greatest kits ever (Holland 1988) was actually a template named "Ipswich" Does anyone know why this was?

Here's an old catalogue on twitter someone posted a while back for reference. Maybe one to bring back in the future ...

London Tier 3 announcement impacting attendance tomorrow?
at 14:02 14 Dec 2020

Patiently waiting to hear about the Tier 3 announcement later. Some talk that the move could be with immediate effect.

Anyone else (supposedly) travelling up for the game tomorrow from London?

Andre Dozzell - better suited for the prem
at 11:51 1 Apr 2019

On potential I really believe he is more suited and could really shine in the Premier league opposed to the Championship or League 1 (with any club for that matter not just us).

I just feel he lacks the extra tenacity to win the ball back, hassle and do the dirty bits the lower leagues require from midfielders. It is tough to carry players like him unless other midfielders do double the work. However in the prem he would have more time on the ball and play with better players who could read his passing better and have the ability to bring him into the game more.

I wouldn't be surprised if a club like Bournemouth came calling for him in the summer.

IFollow and Sky to kill midweek away attendances?
at 16:54 20 Aug 2018

Real mixed feelings about being able to watch town online for £10 or red button on Sky Sports (if you have the package). I will always try and watch us away where I can but if not possible I will definitely use IFollow online midweek this season. BUT

I'm really Interested to see how for us and other clubs how much attendances dwindle and whether it impacts performances.

If the club can generate more revenue from Ifollow (not sure what cut they get) I wonder if away ticket prices will reduce to get fans in.

Strength in Depth !
at 19:24 8 Aug 2018

I for one am very pleased to see some transfer activity at Portman Road. It has certainly been a while for this much of a squad overhaul. It is clear many fans (including myself) don't know much about some of the new signings but we have to trust Paul Hurst and his judgement. It is indeed a new era and something fans must be patient for. As was the case with Micks signings, some may work out, others may not, but we can't be too quick to judge players in this system..

I am particularly intrigued to see who Hurst chooses as his best X1 - I don't think he will know for a few months. If indeed we do get Windass, having him and Nolan fight for that 10 role real will be interesting as both posses something we haven't had for a while. And I really hope Bishop when fit can challenge too. But it does make me wonder how will Hurst keep some of these names happy across the midfield and front line if they are out team or maybe 18.

I think we will see quite of few the youngsters go out on loan who some thought might be involved this season. However I believe players like Nydam, Morris, Cotter need to play more competitive football rather than the U23s or the odd appearance. Having heard Alan Lee talk about some of the younger fringe players recently he does feel some need to play more regular and competitive football before making the jump up. Even if its National league, or Lg 1 it can only help.

We do require 1 more Defender (more so than Windass in my eyes) but one thing for sure it really is going to fascinating how this season turns out and who in the new system ...

I Follow Help (New to TWTD!)
at 08:48 31 Jul 2018

First post so apologies if this has been asked before ...

I'm a season ticket holder who has recently moved to London and wanted to know if paying for I Follow was the only way to access away match commentary. Relying on the internet for streams (owning no radio - I hear radio Suffolk DAB connection is poor anyway) I found they all cut off just before kick off when I tried to listen for the last few away games of last season.

Any help much appreciated!
