There were about £35m of additional fees involved on top of that initial fee plus 400k a week or whatever he's on. |
 | Forum Reply | Cajuste and Matisuwa were outstanding last night. at 12:34 13 Sep 2025
Matusiwa was fantastic because he was covering more than his fair share in the midfield. Cajuste doesn't look up to speed with the Championship yet. He's good when he's got the ball at his feet and plenty of space allowing him to beat players and find passes, but he needs to do a lot more of the hard work and teams are in to him as soon as the ball comes to him and he's not quite been able to get past that yet. Nunez I appreciate was coming in to a game that we'd already won, but he looked very sharp and if I had to pick a team for next week it would be Matusiwa and Nunez. |
 | Forum Reply | Far right politico Charlie Kirk just shot in the neck in Utah at 07:05 11 Sep 2025
I would imagine that the overall point is that, although someone being killed is never ok and it is very upsetting having seen it, Charlie Kirk is a pro-gun lobbyist who is quoted as saying its rational to have some gun related deaths each year to protect their right to own guns without there being any regulation. One of the typical lines from those gun lovers effectively deciding they're OK with lots of innocent people dying as long as its not them and they get to keep their guns. Obviously there's a lot of outpouring of emotion of the murder and news coverage everywhere, which isnt reciprocated for literally innocent children being starved to death or blown to bits on an absolutely massive scale. Personally, I believe everyone should be angry and outraged by the latter but I think a lot of people just look at it as numbers. The reality is that what happened to Charlie Kirk happens multiple times every day in Gaza. |
 | Forum Reply | Joe Fairs on Blue Monday makes a very good point on the transfer window at 22:58 1 Sep 2025
Maybe on paper.... but we've all watched the majority of our 'Championship All Stars' struggle for the last 12 months in both divisions. In that time the players who got us to the Premier League weren't given a fair crack, and when they were given game time, they stood out as strong points not weaknesses. - Broadhead was better than Clarke and Philogene. - Burgess was better than Greaves - Chaplin, for me, still linked the play better than anyone else in the 10. - Morsy kept Phillips out the team. - Woolfenden looked like he could play at the level. I won't say as an individual he was better than O'Shea but the partnership with Burgess was a hell of a lot better than our current pairing. - Ben Johnson brought in as competition for Tuanzabe and he ended up being nowhere near the level. - Hladky vs Muric doesn't even need elaboration. I would love to be wrong, everything clicks and we suddenly run away with the league with all these players playing to their potential. But it just feels like this is a group of strangers chucked together, playing out of their favoured positions, with very low confidence and with a loser mentality. I think a few of them are guilty of going missing when times get tough too. That's something which can't be levelled at a single one of the promotion winning squads. They all showed up for eachother. |

Well seemingly he's taken his ruthlessness out on the fantastic professionals who drove the standards rather than the expensive flops who lack fight and self belief. |

Tried pushing him out then realised we'd bought a dud to replace him and still wouldn't guarantee him games or an acceptable contract. Whatever you want to describe it as, we fùcked him about and he left. |
 | Forum Reply | Who is in control of the game with VAR? at 15:54 31 Aug 2025
I think once he goes to the screen, if he's brave enough to stick to his decision, fans, players and media would celebrate/ accept that decision. The fact they don't think they can go against the VAR shows a real lack of awareness from the PGMOL again. They just don't get it. |

And a few seasons ago Burnley had Muric. Think Palmer is plenty good enough in the traditional aspects of a goalkeeper but he isn't great with the ball at his feet. Chaplin was on from goal kicks all day yesterday with nobody around him but he doesn't have the vision or ability to find him. In all honesty Hladky's ability with his feet was a key reason for us splitting defences open 2 years ago and he's just another to add to the list of players we've replaced with other players who aren't as good / don't suit how we play. |
 | Forum Reply | Woolfenden - McK BBC Interview at 19:26 30 Aug 2025
How this has got down votes is beyond me. O'Shea stands out individually as the better player but as a partnership they are absolutely woeful. Big hole in the middle between them and neither covers the other. I've never been Woolfendens biggest fan but he has proven himself consistently at every level we've played. He should be absolutely baffled that Greaves, in particular keeps getting picked ahead of him each week. It's obviously why Burgess left too. |

Surely, this should be reported! Seeing the video, it's his chest, not his face, but that is an absolutely appalling stamp! |

Yes in 24 attempts. Also apparently was best not as a main striker at Blackburn, more of a 2nd striker / Jon Walters role IIRC. |
 | Forum Reply | For those complaining of our slowness this transfer window at 22:04 26 Aug 2025
This is the biggest point re. window performance, we now need to produce a number of high quality signings because we've lost these players. If we still had Morsy, Broadhead, Omari and Burgess, our squad would look a lot healthier. And because we've lost those players, even if we do get in the signings we need, they take a long time to integrate in to the system and style. This is why some have been pişşed off. The 'waiting for the right player until the last minute' argument is fine if we were in a position of strength and needed to just top up the quality in a couple of positions, but we've weakened ourselves and then we're also playing catch up because the new players haven't had chance to play games together. We might be looking at November until everything starts to click, by which point we'll be off the pace. |

You're right, it's definitely not overnight, its been 12 months of systematically ripping up the team, spirit and mentality that brought us success. I don't think McKenna actually appreciates how special that group of players was. We've replaced them with players who may be much better technically and individually but they're lightweight and bottlers who don't have a winning mentality and certainly don't know what they're doing collectively. | Forum Reply | Morsy was the driving force at 17:42 23 Aug 2025
There's not many midfielders who have the ability to take the ball and drive past people to start attacks. Absolutely baffling we didn't think he was crucial to what we do this season. Massive massive hole in the middle, and Matusiwa looks to be a very good footballer but not the kind of player to drive us forward. [Post edited 23 Aug 17:42]

Philogene offside, Clarke making the pass anyway, 1v1 misses the goal altogether anyway. Both of them lightweight, lack creativity, lack bravery, lack pace. £40m pişşed up the wall imo. |
