Luton are down

League 1 is about his level. Terrible shout for a signing. The lad Alli looks far better if you're wanting a player from Luton.

Hirst > Delap
at 20:06 3 May 2025

Hirst has 5 goal and 2 assists in 664 minutes of football apparently. That's some going.

I love George Hirst personally, I think he is the perfect player for us in the way he plays that role. Delap will be a superstar but Hirst is comfortably good enough to be a decent premier league striker. Going in to next season, Hirst would be the top of my list of players to keep hold of.

Rudoni looks very good today

I know a number of people liked him at Wimbledon, fair play, I didn't think he particularly stood out. If Cov don't go up, he'd be very near the top of my recruitment list.

So we're just swapping them round?

When did you first feel like we would get relegated?
at 00:25 27 Apr 2025

Same game I did think hold on, Everton are terrible and we couldn't lay a glove on them. However, this was another game where terrible officiating robbed us and if we'd have been given the blatant penalty it could have been a different game.

The squad
at 22:39 23 Apr 2025

Delap is our best player yes... but not the most difficult to replace when we have a ready made replacement in Hirst. We know Delap is going, so for me, the most important player for us to keep this summer is Hirst. There aren't very many strikers out there of their profiles, and we would really struggle if we lost them both.

Just hope other clubs don't start to realise how good Hirst is

Between now and the end of the season. He's good enough for this level and if we can keep him fit next season he'll be phenomenal.

Manchester City points deduction
at 19:30 10 Apr 2025

Well in a usual scenario you could do because the offence happened in that season and the points penalty should be applied in the same season. The difficulty with this is it's offences over numerous seasons. So whatever season it's applied, other clubs have a legal challenge. There are numerous teams already geared up for claims once a decision is given.

Would you take Erling Haaland in our team? We'd never get the ball in to the box for him to score because he wouldn't hold the ball or link the play.

Manchester City points deduction

Does it not open the door for a club such as us to take legal action due to loss of earnings as the hearing has been carried out this season? There will be lots and lots of subsequent claims regardless imo.

Some people are clearly oblivious to how good Delap is. He is a £70m+ striker we're losing at a ridiculous price.

If we stayed up this season and we were offered a straight swap with any of the other strikers in the league, I'd swap him for Isak, and the list stops there.

Delap reported 40m clause...
at 20:51 7 Apr 2025

Well worst case scenario as listed above we make £12m.

If, at the point you're agreeing the deal, the best case scenario is that you can make £12m profit even if he scores 30 goals and gets an England call up, and the worst case scenario is he is a complete dud and you take a £10m hit on him, I would say it's not exactly good business.

Delap reported 40m clause...
at 18:12 7 Apr 2025

Yes, because we're leaving ourselves at least £30m short of what we should be getting. With the profit we make, we can't even buy a Jaden Philogene.
No idea where this £40m has resurfaced from again though? I can see some Man Utd rubbish saying he's their top target and that City have a £40m buy back clause. If City don't activate said clause then surely there is no obligation for us to accept such a low figure from elsewhere.

With the 20% sell on fee, based on it being on profit we'd get £36m and if it's for the entire sale we'd get £32m. Absolutely terrible business.

I can't think that would be true, but who knows.

I really hope we have got it right with Philogene

I think Clarke has shown a lot more in his appearances than Philogene. Of the 2 I expect Clarke to be the most effective next season, I hope we don't cut our losses with him.

Joao Gomes

One of the best players to play at PR this season imo. Phenomenal player.

We played the 4th worst team in the league today and as individuals they are so many levels above the teams we've played against in the championship. I just can't see how any of the promoted teams can stay up these days.

I think they're OK in moderation, just not every week. First game, last games, top of the table clash to win the league in March.

What "quality"? I'm not convinced he's an upgrade on Donacien tbh, he's certainly worse defensively and doesn't offer much going forward.

Some of them may have been even better, some of them may have never made it. There are plenty of extremely talented footballers in the last 20 years who had ability but did not have the pace, power or physicality to make it.

I haven't delved too much in to the case but know the expert in the field, who literally wrote the paper which the conviction was based upon, said there was no evidence of murder and the expert witness had misinterpreted the paper.

I do remember thinking at the time, the same day she was found guilty, there was a pre-made documentary ready to go, almost immediately, describing her as a monster, and I found that a bit strange / concerning.

She may well be guilty Im not sure, but either way, she has got to be one of the most psychologically damaged people on the planet.
