But then you wouldn't get what we had in May 2024, which was worth everything. |

I'm still a bit nervous about striker, LB and Matusiwa cover – fairly inconceivable that at some point we won't have an issue in at least one of these areas. But by January the picture should be somewhat clearer. |

To be fair KM has plenty of friends in the game and it's probably just an innocent invite from someone, not that uncommon. You don't publicly show up in someone's directors' box when you're negotiating to take a job, particularly when you're already in one. I'm sure it does none of the parties any harm to keep an open line, and in reality that is how things work, but can't see much threat here. |

Of course. Somewhat predictably we seem to have gone on a journey from "Hirst has had a pretty quiet start to the season" to "Hirst has been poor/awful/shocking/atrocious". |

Unfortunately there are more than enough poorly educated people in this country who get all their "news" from Facebook groups to make sure Farage gets in – and that the country is destroyed forever, because we won't have a fair election again after that. |
 | Forum Reply | Double standards? at 12:51 5 Sep 2025
Yep – Farage will never be asked about it by a major broadcaster and most of the public will remain unaware that their messiah is a hugely wealthy, billionaire-backed confidence trickster who can't stop laughing at them. |

Yes. Those hounding asylum seekers would be infinitely better off diverting their energy somewhere else. |

Quite a few people stated confidently that they wouldn't be able to do this but with some of the deals they have it was never really in doubt. Let's hope we and others can fend them off. |
 | Forum Reply | I'm gonna say this at 22:18 1 Sep 2025
Had you heard of Egeli or seen him play either? Plenty of smart people outside ITFC have and will tell you it's a hugely exciting deal. Totally understand the overriding sentiment. There's a lot for this new team to prove, and for the management now as well, and they need to do it pretty quickly. Couple of good wins in the next few games and things will look a lot brighter; new memories and fan-player relationships will be forged. Who had Chaplin down as an all-time Ipswich hero a month into 2021-22? Certainly not you or me. |

Yes, this one upsets me. It felt to me that he still had a big role to play. Probably along with Morsy and Burns, the heartbeat of everything we have achieved since the takeover. We will never see an Ipswich team like it again. Only thing for it now, though, is to move on and hope a very talented team for the level can discover the spirit and backbone it is going to need. There is a large extent to which what worked then cannot be expected to work now – it's a very different context. But it's definitely one hell of a high wire act and let's hope the current bunch get themselves in the groove quickly. |

We do. Let's see if we have the right players to do that with. In some cases the signs are good; in others the jury is very much out. McKenna needs to somehow get this all together and forge a new identity very quickly indeed. |
