Yep, this has looked like the pivotal one ever since last Saturday and my view hasn't changed. If Leeds win at a tough venue it feels like a reset for them and you'd have to put them in the box seat; drop any points tonight and our chances look crazily good. It's huge. |

Yes true, and I forgot to add the caveat that they need to actually make the POs. Still don’t want to take that risk tho! |

In football terms yes, although if they get to the final it means the play-off final gets moved back a week and *if* we have to settle for that I have a very awkward conversation in store domestically about missing a wedding (not mine at least) in Berlin. So, errr, come on Man U. (Edit - *could* mean it gets moved back obvs) [Post edited 21 Apr 14:58]

Yep, to be honest absolutely any points dropped by them would be great and give us a golden chance. |
| Forum Thread | Probably easiest to let Leicester go now at 14:53 20 Apr 2024
They're clearly going to squeak it (though we're the ones who get all the luck apparently ... ) and reap some heavy consequences next season that will presumably send them back down in worse shape. Our battle is with Leeds, maybe with Saints, and Monday night at Boro is the really big one for me. |

Think Leicester will win, West Brom are half asleep and also without Thomas-Asante who is a really important presence in attack. Saints have momentum and expect them to win too. Holding hope out for Boro-Leeds really – anything dropped by Leeds there is genuinely enormous for us and I think it's possible. |

Leeds at Boro is absolutely pivotal for me. If they don't win there, I really think it is wide open for us. [Post edited 17 Apr 11:19]

It would give us a second life at Coventry tho if we slipped up at Hull ... I think it'd verge on being decisive. |

The more I think about it (and let's be honest I'm not thinking about a lot else), Boro v Leeds next Monday is the pivotal fixture of the lot. If Leeds drop any points there then both my heart and head think we'll be ok. |
| Forum Reply | Do we want Saints to keep winning? at 14:32 15 Apr 2024
Yep, let's keep them keen – if they have as much as a sniff on the final day I'd back them to get a result at Leeds. |
| Forum Reply | Wes Burns at 11:22 15 Apr 2024
Burns is the one we really need back and – realistically – could get something gamechanging from in the final three games. Hirst feels like a nice-to-have if we need to go through the play-offs. |

Ali was clearly done, to be fair. And you'd always want to see if Broadhead can change a game although it didn't really work today. |
| Forum Reply | Played well today I thought at 18:56 13 Apr 2024
Yep completely agree – that was a good game and we played really well for the most part against a side that we know likes going toe to toe with the promotion contenders. Looked sharp and with a couple more players fit, as you say, we probably have the tools to make it count. I get the frustrations, and of course feel them, because it could have been a spectacularly good day – but it's still a good one and we are in a quite incredible position. Permutations for the next few weeks are dizzying, everyone has it fairly tough on paper, can't help sensing we may be in for a four-way shootout at the end. But what an absolute marvel that we're in this situation with three to play – won't hear a single complaint from me. [Post edited 13 Apr 18:57]

| Forum Thread | Hope we can make it electric in there today at 11:57 13 Apr 2024
Haven't been too many bigger games than this one at Portman Road since 2005. Maybe only Exeter and the Norwich play-off. This is the real stuff now and the occasion needs to feel that way. Hopefully any nerves or frustrations about the past week are left at the door – all of the promotion contenders are having to grind through it now and if we can make it a loud, raucous, memorable atmosphere it might just give us the edge we need. Cannot wait. |

One of those players has an injury that needs surgery and is being dragged through; the other has had a few too many minutes for club and country recently & has had a minor back strain. Incomparable I'm afraid. |
| Forum Reply | Biggest defeat whilst playing? at 16:19 11 Apr 2024
15-0 for Claydon U15s against Kesgrave Kestrels in a cup game ... I remember it because Town were also playing that lunchtime – which was rare back then – against Sheff U but I chose to play rather than go because I'd started the season well and thought we could do something. Think I touched the ball about three times. |

"Pathetic" is far, far too much as you've acknowledged. Let's not all sh7t the bed here eh? There were two teams out there and we are clearly having to drag ourselves through games at the moment. We're not the only ones. We need to be kind, otherwise any advantage we can give the team in the next few weeks simply disappears. Haven't they earned that? |
