Port Vale promotion
at 21:20 7 Apr 2023

Just looked at getting a ticket for Port Vale game and noticed the season ticket promotion.

Don't suppose there are any season ticket holders who haven't bought 2 additional that would be happy to help me out? Living down in South Essex don't know any ST holders unfortunately.

Feel free to send me a PM if you are able to help.

Thanks everyone that responded.

She's never shown any interest in football until now so caught off guard by her sudden desire to go to a match. My girlfriend suggested just taking her to a Southend game (being local) but I know I've likely only got one shot to get her hooked and as far as I'm concerned if walking out and seeing a packed out PR doesn't do it, nothing will.

Restricted view tickets
at 12:39 24 Mar 2023

Does anyone know if the tickets at the back of the Cobbold or Magnus are actually restricted view and if so, how restricted they actually are?

My 6 year old daughter wants to go to her first game and the only one we can do is the Wycombe game but obviously not many tickets available together (need 3).

Never sat in the Cobbold and been about 20 years since been in the West Stand as have been SBR since then.

Any thoughts/insight would be appreciated plus anything else can do to hopefully make it as enjoyable a day for her as possible (already planning on fanzone, first time fan etc.).

I toyed with AMC before market close yesterday but held onto my PLTR for demo day.

Wrong move - After hours AMC +358% now, PLTR -8%.

Win some, lose some.

Not necessarily.

I'm holding my positions on GME & BB in a stocks and shares isa on trading212.

Obviously not sure on how/where other people are holding their positions but CGT could definitely come into play for a lot of people.

I've got a couple of shares in GME, am in with an average fill price of $110.50, stop loss set at $125 and limit sell set at $450 at the moment but keep shifting it up as it keeps growing so I won't get burnt but can also keep riding the wave. It's currently at $229 in pre hours trading and it touched $340 this morning.

It does seem like a pump and dump and there are going to be people burnt massively who buy in at the top.

It's a tough one because the message board it's on is a load of individuals, the problem the markets have is its 2m+ people. I have been following it since early last week when it was $30-$40 a share.

GME is the headline but its not the only stock that seems to have been affected by Reddit. Also look at BB, AMC, PLTR, BBBY & NOK. All have a bit of a cult following on there and all have jumped up significantly in the past few weeks. AMC for example is currently up 251% in after hours trading as we speak.

I think the most worrying thing that has become apparent over the last week is how much power the big hedge funds behind the short positions have on some media outlets. I think with GME their bluff has been called and they are set to lose billions in the next week or so when a lot of the option contracts come up for expiry as it is the end of week/month.

£40 for Norwich again and enhanced security measures...
at 09:31 14 Jan 2019

Update for any people out there without a passport or driving licence - just spoke to ticket office and doesn't have to be 'official ID' like passport or driving licence. They said either of my brothers student card or rail card are absolutely fine as long as it has an 'identifiable picture'. Assume this means anyone that has work ID with a photo will be able to use that to get in if that helps anyone.

2 tickets booked, COYB!

I have read it on the website and on the letter and it only says photographic ID. Doesn't state it has to be passport or driving licence. I'm getting my brother's ticket along with mine and he doesn't drive or have a passport as he's a student. He's planning on taking his railcard and nus card, both have his name and photo on.

Sitting down at away games
at 00:09 13 Aug 2018

At Derby away last season we were told that we had to take our allocated seats for kick off but as soon as the match started we'd be free to move. 30 seconds in and the stewards announced that everyone was free to move and that above a certain point was for people wishing to stand and below that point was for people that wished to sit. Anybody that wanted to move did so accordingly and there were no issues.

I appreciate that as a midweek game the away end wasn't particularly full which made it easier for this to be organised, however, it was a good bit of common sense and worked. It is obviously a lot more difficult to do this at games that are very busy but with some of the stadiums in this league and the fact the league seems to now be based up north can't see this been too much of an issue for the majority of games this year, we won't sell out many away games.

I generally find at most grounds in the league we are very lightly policed and as a result of this the stewards aren't too bad and are fairly tolerant as long as people don't start acting like idiots.

Choosing seats on mobile
at 09:53 4 Aug 2018

If you're using chrome on your mobile you can do it, just hit the 3 dots in top corner and tick 'desktop site' when you are on the home match tab and go from there as you would on a pc.

Can be a bit fiddly so may take a few attempts but I've done this previously with no issues.

Beautiful piece on BBC sport

I can't believe they only mentioned Orient & Millwall for Kane. I was led to believe it was his 3 appearances for them up the road that made him the player he is today....

Parking at Southend airport...
at 15:02 9 Jul 2018

As someone else said train is good option, served by its own station only 30 seconds walk from the terminal.

Looked at a house over the road from there only 2 weeks ago and no permit holder parking on Rochford side of the bridge. Mate lives 5 minutes walk away on Southend side and no parking restrictions down his road either.

Parking the Southend/A127 side of the airport probably easier as if you park Rochford side of the bridge the parking isn't brilliant and you'll have to walk the long way round to get to the back of the retail park where the terminal is as currently there's no main road access to the station.
