Granted Fred was pretty awful Saturday, his worst game thus far in a Town shirt. But I cannot remember him having a poor game before that. So over-the-top & reactionary saying that he should be dropped, Pigott 2.0 etc.
Come on! Cast your minds back to last Tuesday and he was one of the best players on the pitch. Won't do his confidence any good, got to stick with him.
Random thought, but I'm convinced we're not counting the away fans accurately. Bolton had supporters from the right hand side of the stand all the way through to the halfway line split.
I'm convinced that that number of fans used to be 1,800+. Their fans were also told they'd sold 1,600 for today and their attendance was 1,392. Where did 208 people go?!
I think it will be key to any potential success this season. Strength in depth is fantastic now, and if we have any of Harness, Aluko, Edwards, John-Jules coming off the bench (if not all four of them regularly) it'll give us a massive boost.
I'm sure we are looking at the new rule with that in mind, given we now seem to have a fair few versatile attackers in the building.
We have had their absolute pants down. I'm sure Pigott going there knocked some money off of the deal, and we get both players come the end of this season...
Harness one of their most valuable players & best attackers, whereas Pigott pretty much surplus to requirements here.
A real scam will come if we manage to sign Hirst instead of them.
One not very often spoken about and flies a little below the radar - but really good today. Obvs only pre-season vs Needham, but looked up for it, ran with the ball well, scored and got stuck in.
Looks from highlights a technical, big forward. Think the cliche is 'good feet for a big man'.
Injuries have hampered him a lot through his development though, kind of surprised we've gone down this route. Only 27 minutes for Sheffield Wednesday last season, who he joined in January.
What's the general consensus if he was to come back permanently?
Personally I like him, similar to Bakinson he grew as his loan went on. Also gives Burns the license to go forward as Thompson is back as a LB in possession on the right hand side.
That 'dropping into a back 4' when Burns pushes on, with Donacien covering at RB, is a key part of our success in defence and going forward.
Think Town fans have got a misconception based on last summer that every player we sign is only going to be good if they come from higher league opposition.
Many too hyped up by the big name signings from clubs higher up, but it's those who come in to do a solid job and are consistent performers that win you titles more than those who come in and score the occasional worldy.
People moaned when Mings and Cresswell signed for that position too. Neither of them turned out too bad.
