The gold card was started around 1998, replacing the Portman Card. The reason why the gold card started was similar today's problem, it was a crude way to benefit season holders who go to away games. The main advantage was a higher priority , but it would break even if used ie, £5 added to the team card, free ticket for a preseason home game (£10 normally), ½ price coach ticket plus. The silver card if I am correct was introduced in 2000-01 season when the capacity was only 22,000, with 18,000 season ticket holders. Silver card holders entering an organized lucky dip for the remaining 2,000 tickets per game. |
| Forum Thread | The origins of the colour Orange in the past away Kits at 23:16 5 Jun 2023
There was a big launch (in those days) of the new kit for the 1977/78 season, for both home and away kits. The Away kit being white shirt, black shirt, white socks (and the end to the Yellow and blue away kit). The orange kit made its surprised debut in the 1977/78 FA Cup at Bristol Rovers as the 2nd away kit, because of the colour clash. No marketing ploy back then. Since winning the FA Cup, there has been many seasons when orange has been the away kit or 2nd away kit. The earlier testimonial game in the 1977/78 season at Bristol Rovers, we played in white shirts. |

| Forum Reply | Applied for Pompey and Burton ballot tickets - no response from Club at all... at 12:20 11 Dec 2020
I am in a very similar situation. Received confirmation of the ballot entry for Portsmouth and Button, but no email saying if successful or not. Phoned the ticket office, who stated I was unsuccessful. Asked the reason why I had no email. Apparently there are 2 systems the club run and was told I had requested to opt out of one of these! I did not opt out. The long delay in ballot results give rise to suspicion. I have no faith or trust in the system. I want it, not only to be fair but seen it to be fair. Stating verbally, it is too easy to hide, if you have not been entered. |
| Forum Thread | Wimbledon ticket offer at 12:47 18 Jan 2020
Received my Wimbledon ticket offer in the post today. Done 9 away league games. I remember missing out for the Norwich play off by one game, as they did not include cup games. Not sure if this is still the case. Gold card holder. |
| Forum Thread | Itfcdirect.com down? at 19:19 28 Jul 2019
Is the itfcdirect.com site down for the past 2 to 3 days? If so, how do people buy tickets? Phone purchase not available and not near Ipswich to go to shop. |
