Well, the game against Barnsley was our first ever game and we're 32 and live in the north east.

However, we won't stay away and will gladly come to future games as we've already developed a love for ITFC. I find the aforementioned opinion quite disappointing, but I'm assured it isn't shared by the vast majority of fans...

Cheers @hugoagogo

I've got very broad shoulders and love a good bit of banter! Plus gallows humour is the best way to support a club! It makes the bright patches even sweeter...

Being born and bred in the NE, I can tell you that the changing rooms in Sunderland have been poisonous for around 10 years or more now...

I can't put my finger on it - not even my SAFC supporting mates can - but there's something intrinsically wrong with that club and their structure and ethos.

It's a drinking club; full of spoilt players who fancy themselves as superstars and live on their own hype and inflated egos.

It's sad really as the fans deserve better, but even they are losing faith now and numbers are dwindling.

A 42,000+ seater stadium in League One is ludicrous...

Remember him when he was up here playing for Hartlepool United - my cousin's family are from there and support the club.

He told me the guy was a snotty little git and constantly complained about being homesick.

Not exactly the best material for a manager, I'd suggest...

Thanks for all of the replies!

I am born and bred in County Durham and live and work up here too.
I picked the name Fenlander as I loved the landscape around there.

The wife and I have already pledged to retire to Suffolk when we're both old and grey...and can afford it...

Probably around another 30 years yet.

Hello all.

My wife and I honeymooned in Suffolk last week and utterly fell in love with the place. We stayed in Lavenham and visited Bury St Edmunds, Framlingham, Levington, Aldeburgh, Stowmarket and Woodbridge. We loved every single moment of the holiday and found locals to be proud, hard-grafting and very welcoming.

We're both big rugby fans, but haven't really supported a football team - even though we come from the north east of the country!

Whilst we were in Ipswich on the Tuesday night we visited Christchurch when I realised there was a game on. We decided (on impulse) to go down to Portman Road and see if we could see the game.

I've never enjoyed myself so much. The game was canny (could've been better; could've been worse) but again the people we met were incredible and the drinks afterwards with locals were cracking. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We both got ourselves a t-shirt and scarf the next day as mementos of the visit and have vowed to return a few times each season to stop in Suffolk and travel across for a game.
