| Forum Thread | Takeover talks at 23:27 26 Feb 2021
It made me chuckle when I heard that A spokesman said: “Marcus Evans reiterates that he is not actively looking to sell the club and remains fully focused on taking Ipswich Town back to the Championship” If this is Marcus Evans “Fully Focussed”, then I would hate to see what happens when he takes his foot off the gas! Anyway I still think selling to a US investor is a bad idea. I would rather a UK owner all day long. [Post edited 26 Feb 2021 23:28]

| Forum Thread | Where will we finish in the league at the end of the season? at 13:36 21 Feb 2021
I am sure you will agree that if we can go the remainder of the season unbeaten then maybe we will have a chance of making the playoffs. I predict that based on the last 19 games W6 D5 L8 (23 Pts) we will finish in 9th place, with around 60-64 pts. 19 games left and we have Hull next (beat us 3-0 this season) followed by Doncaster (beat us 4-1 this season) Let’s hope we do go on a good unbeaten run. |

| Forum Reply | Why can't some people realise Evans is the main problem? at 11:19 1 Mar 2020
Why can't you realise that we would be in a worse position without backing of Marcus Evans. This is nothing more than a rant, and just your opinion. We have some great young players coming through and just need to give them more time. Rome was not built in a day, and we made a huge mistake with last seasons signings. We needed quality and Hurst went for quantity. So far I have not been impressed with a single signing he made, but have been impressed with the signings this season. I did not believe we had the squad to win this league based on last years performances, but we are one or two players away from being a good side. |

I agree that if we are in a competition we should take it seriously for the fans. However I also agree that this particular competition is a hinderence on our season. It has become the norm nowadays that teams focussIng on their league form find the cup competitions a distraction, so field weaker teams. My fear this season with all the postponed games, cup replays, and a transfer window around the corner our season may de-rail. I hope not. |

50 years since the appointment of Sir Bobby, and what a legacy he left. There was a time when we sang Ipswich are the finest team the world has ever seen, and everyone believed it! Have you watched the Bobby Robson documentary on Netflix, so so good. I loved that Sir Alex Ferguson used to watch Ipswich train after being invited by Sir Bobby (even Bielsa would have been welcomed) Pep and Mourinho both at Barcelona during his time (amongst other greats) who were all influenced by that great man. He was my hero growing up and I miss him in football. |

We are playing the worst football I have ever seen from an Ipswich team, I am totally defeated. It would take an absolute miracle to turn this around. I can't see us winning a single game before Christmas. We have no threat up front what so ever, despite sears scoring a few it is not enough, he is not good enough, and the rest of our strike force pose no threat! |
| Forum Reply | [Blog] Where Did It All Go Wrong for Paul Hurst? at 13:13 27 Oct 2018
I wanted the guy to do well, don't get me wrong, but he was a gamble, and sometimes they pay off, and sometimes they don't. He may go somewhere else and it will work, that is the way football is sometimes. Just look at Lambert, he was amazing for Norwich and then took a leap to a bigger club, and it did not work out. I wish Paul Hurst all the best, but no statue for him at Portman road I'm afraid 😳 |
| Forum Reply | Where's Nigel Pearson these days? at 19:51 25 Oct 2018
Pearson would be my number one favourite. Very hard done by with Leicester and had put in n place all the foundations for a premier winning side, and got no credit. Please sign him up! |

I personally would not mind Lambert, he was a top top player, and a reasonable manager. i do not care that he managed Colchester and Norwich. If he does a good job who cares |
| Forum Reply | I was a big supporter of Hurst, his appointment and signings... at 19:37 25 Oct 2018
Agree with all of you. I really wanted Hurst to do well, but I have never seen Ipswich play as bad as the match against QPR, in 30 years of watching town. It was a huge ask for all his signings to click, and we should never have let those senior players go. I hope the next manager has something about him in the way of man management, or someone who can turn anything into gold! |

Me, I personally would welcome drinking on the terraces at Portman Road. At least I can then drown in my sorrows watching this dross! After 10 pints we might start to look good 😊 |

I hated the way we played under Mick, but this is much, much worse! It is not even football. |
| Forum Reply | Absolutely no sign of any forward progress whatsoever... at 17:38 20 Oct 2018
Completely agree we have made the wrong choice in manager. We need someone who knows how to get the best out of a now very ordinary squad. If we do not change things now the future of the club will be bleak. Colchester Utd next season :-( |
| Forum Reply | Hurst thoughts at 22:47 3 Oct 2018
I really wanted Hurst to do well. All I am hearing within the club is that he is completely out of his depth. In my opinion too many changes have been made, and our promising youngsters are not being given a chance. We let go all our goals threats in the team and replaced them with lower league players who do not cut it. Whatever Evans decides we should get behind our team, and let's hope we can escape a relegation battle. I have a feeling we will make a change if we lose our next two 😕 |
