 | News Comment | Al-Hamadi in Iraq Squad at 04:49:43
I wonder if Ali will be sold in the summer. Seems to have had an okay loan, but as time went on he seemed to lose his starting role. I can't see him having a large role with us going forward. |
 | News Comment | Harrop: Looking Back, I Should Never Have Joined Ipswich at 10:18:43
Poor indictment of Preston. Just left the guy stranded on his own...having to use youtube to find training regimes. Unbelievable this occurs in the modern era. As for us, not sure why some of you are critising our medical team? They did their job. It was management that signed and played him even after he failed the physical. |
 | News Comment | Hirst and Slicker in Scotland Squad at 06:27:20
I'm hoping Slicker gets international football before even playing a single match of league football (at any division). There can't be many players who could have that claim to fame. Could soon be a 23 year old (in September) international with zero professional league minutes. Come on Kieran and Mark, loan the boy out next season so he can play a game! |
 | News Comment | Delap 'Holds Manchester United Talks' at 06:23:17
We were not protected at all here, and will hardly make money from the sale. But he deserves to stay in the Premier League. The silver lining is that not many others will be in demand - Omari will go, and perhaps Leif and Dara O'Shea. But can't see any others fielding Premier League offers. So if you want to know a big reason why we're heading back down, it's that a maximum of 4 of our players are good enough for the Premier League! |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Humphreys Loan Exactly What We Wanted at 04:05:42
This is the value in loans. Game time is important. Will never understand why we didn't loan Slicker out as well. Next year, we'll have a 23 year old keeper without a single league match of experience at any level. |
 | News Comment | Slicker in Scotland Squad But Hirst Made to Wait at 07:14:08
Seems like Scotland has a dearth of keepers. Not only Gordon at age 42 in the squad but Slicker has never played a professional league match of football. Not one. Usually only the minnows have inclusions like that. It's quite frankly pretty embarrassing. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: First-Team Call Will Make Taylor Hungrier to Keep Progressing at 05:59:35
Well, 'if they are good enough' is the key phrase, and sadly for many years now they haven't been. I hope it's being corrected, but we rested on our laurels for far too long and the youth academy rotted. We as a club have to rely on a pipeline of cheap young talent in order to have long term success. Luke W is the only academy player in the first team (I can't count Harry Clarke since he left and we paid a fee to get him back). That's abysmal. |
 | News Comment | Juric: Ugly Situation Because His Attitude Wasn't Good at 10:28:18
If he wanted to be close to home with his young child, he wouldn't have picked Southampton over us in the summer. We don't know the full story - but it's clear the manager doesn't think he's putting in effort in training after being benched. |
 | News Comment | Wednesday Loan Bid For Clarke at 05:31:31
Enciso cannot play up top. Enciso is only 170cm...he'd be eaten up and spit out in the premier league as a number 9. Same with Chaplin. Broady looked totally lost at sea when he had to play the 9 in a few matches last season. So I don't think these guys are serious options there. |
 | News Comment | Bruce: Baggott Outstanding at 17:42:35
He has potential but is running out of time. And it's silly to say we should have played Baggott last season - we were promoted for goodness sake! Obviously player selection was correct, and Burgess and Woolfy were both excellent last season...but some of you lot would have replaced one of them with a guy that had only had a handful of matches in L2 and L1. WTF! |
 | News Comment | Edmundson Completes Boro Move at 11:40:12
We won the game of 'chicken' we played with Boro, but it could have gone horribly wrong for us. In total we received a guaranteed £100k more than the last bid before the recall, and maybe ten-fifty thousand more in easy top-ups. Looking forward to when we're an established Premier League team and do not have to engage in this nickle and dime type stuff. |
 | News Comment | Edmundson Recalled From Boro Loan at 04:08:54
I'm disappointed in the club for treating George in this way - for what, an extra 100k. The guy now may lose a half season of games and more importantly the long-term contract Boro were offering him. I actually hope this bites us, we are stuck with him taking a roster spot, paying his wages and lose him for nothing. |
