Book recomendation - Hitler, Stalin, Mum and Dad......

I've read that and it is excellent. Doesn't paint the allies in a good light at times.

Do the castle. If you have a day spare and want to go somewhere a bit different, get a train to Bamberg (about an hour). It is a world heritage city, absolutely beautiful and historic with probably the best bars and beer in Germany to boot. Seriously lovely city.

Is this the smoking gun that finally brings them down?
at 08:02 13 Jan 2024

Listening to Alastair Campbell on The Rest is Politics, he said that the Blair Govt tried to take the contract away from Fujitsu , but the clauses in the contract relating to this (a contract from the previous Tory Govt) was such that the cost of doing this was GREATER than the contract value. So, on grounds of being prudent with public money, they stuck with them. Damned if you do, damned if you don't!

Any word on the person who potentially had a heart attack in the Sir Alf Ramsey
at 10:52 4 Oct 2023

Yeah, it was me. I fainted, fell backwards, banged my head and got a few small fractures of my skull. Few days in hospital but at home but mainly confined to bed with headaches and dizziness. When they checked me in hospital my heart was 100%.No idea why it happened, but I had my flu and COVID jabs in the morning, which a couple of nurses thought might be relevant. Sad to miss all the games since then and unlikely to be back until the Plymouth game.

When | saw it my first thought was if an opposition player had done that we would be screaming for a red card. I actually thought he was fortunate not to be sent off,

ASLEF industrial action - overtime ban. Now you can see how much GA depend on overtime rather than recruit and train more drivers.

James O'Brien on LBC has been doing a Woke Watch for months, but his is somewhat different in that it looks at the ridiculous things said by the anti-woke brigade.

Dullest Encounter With A Footballer
at 09:45 24 Jul 2023

One morning in a hotel at Dublin airport, I was a bit late for breakfast, didn't want to keep my colleagues waiting so hurried down the stairs and was just turning into the breakfast room when a big guy came out, also in a hurry and knocked me over! I am 6'2" and about 15 stone at the time. Guy apologised profusely, and helped me to my feet. It was Jack Charlton, when he was RoI manager.

Not all journos and photographers share the vile views of their emploeres - I suspect many do not. But a job is a job. Might be better if all employees for Murdoch, Rothermere et al stuck to their principles but I guess there'd be many more queuing up to write the steaming lying pile of filth in those papers.

Don't worry. My missus came with me to the Wycombe game, first time in over 6 years. She saw what great football we play for herself. I was worried but in the end no need.

Luftwaffe and the RAF come together for the first time in history
at 11:03 15 Mar 2023

If you're interested in this period of abiation history I can recommend the Luftwaffe museum on the outskirts of Berlin. My son asked me to take him there about 20 years ago; it's an absolute pain to get to if you don't have a car but well worth it.
