 | News Comment | McKenna: It's the Setbacks That Make You Stronger at 12:40:29
To those too young to remember I would remind you that it took several years for Ramsey, Robson & Burley to put together their teams/squads that eventually brought Town the success that our friends up the A140 will never see. They also faced bumps in the road on the way so don't be too quick to condemn KMK. We've seen remarkable success and progress on and off the pitch with the club over the past couple of seasons and I believe there is more to come, we just need to be a little patient. |
 | News Comment | Ogbene New Disability Ambassador at 10:39:43
Can't help thinking if Ogbene (and others) hadn't sustained the serious injuries they had early in the season we would now be sitting pretty and safe in the knowledge we'd still be in the PL next season. Anyway, here's to a Promotion winning season this time next year!!!!! |
 | News Comment | Delap Scores But Hutchinson Sent Off as England U21s Beaten in France at 13:47:47
I am not a Davis hater, far from it but I do believe that until McKenna realizes that we need to defend first we are not going anywhere in the PL. I'm all for attractive attacking football but Town should have adapted, at least at home and gone with 3 CB with two proper full backs to stop the opposition. Davis is only doing as he is asked so you can't blame him. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: A Really Poor Result For Us, a Game That Was There For Us to Win at 21:25:44
As much as I have enjoyed the last 3 years this season has proved to be a tough watch. As many suspected we just weren't ready for the Premier League and needed another year preparing in the Championship. I also feel McKenna needs to adjust his philosophy and playing style and concentrate on being hard to beat rather than trying to win. I say this because we are now in a situation where we have to take points of teams higher in the division if we are to survive. The alternative is to accept relegation now and start preparing for a promotion push next year. |
 | News Comment | Friendlies Live On TownTV at 12:08:42
I know Town need to make money wherever they can now to increase turnover and allow them to stay ahead of the spending rules but charging to overseas fans to watch friendlies on TV is a bit much IMO. As for other friendlies I gave up paying to watch them years ago since it's just a glorified training session and I don't consider it's worth the asking price. |
 | News Comment | Downes Opts to Rejoin Saints at 21:32:15
Personally I'm disappointed but can't blame him for making what he considers the best decision for him. To those slagging him off and saying he's not good enough I would say if McKenna thought he was good enough to pursue them he is good enough and would have been an asset. |
 | News Comment | Villa Activate Philogene Matching Rights at 12:01:46
Footballers need to remember the agents work for them not the other way round. Either he wants to come to Town to learn and develop under the Master that is McKenna or he is chasing the money. If that's the case frankly he can go somewhere else. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: Players Handling Big Three-Game Week Really Well at 18:03:35
I view Coventry tonight as a must win game for the simple reason that it would make the final game vs Huddersfield must more straightforward though I'm perfectly aware that nothing is a given in this league. I'm also in agreement with those who make the observation about our defensive frailties - it's as if some players have been totally brainwashed and unable to think for themselves. Yes the "risk & reward" strategy has worked well for us this season but there are times when your goalkeeper just punts it long rather than pass to a player under pressure. I love McKennas football and the way he has managed to get this squad playing but sometimes they have to think for themselves. |
 | News Comment | FA Cup Replays Scrapped at 14:03:06
A sad day in my view and another devaluation of one of the oldest knockout competitions in the world. This will only benefit the big Premier League clubs who constantly whine on about too many games etc and having to rest players. For those saying the semis shouldn't be played at Wembley I agree with you but that will never be the case now because the FA need to use the stadium to make money an justify the massive cost of building it. |
 | News Comment | McKenna: We'll Have to See How Kieffer is Over the Next Few Days at 08:22:28
I reckon we are going to be stretched at Carrott Road - already without Burns & Hirst and Moore now possibly a doubt. Though it pains me to say it that lot up the road are firing and will be looking to derail our run in to automatic promotion so there will be an opportunity for someone in blue to become a hero. Al Hamadi could be that man. |
 | News Comment | Martin: We Were the Best Team, We Didn't Deserve to Lose at 08:17:19
Russell Martin is an ar$e and Southampton are going nowhere with him in charge. He was a bang average player and has flattered to deceive everywhere he has been as a manager. Whatever happens to Southampton this season, one thing is for certain, he won't be in charge next season. |
 | News Comment | Town Announce Season Ticket Prices at 11:33:14
I think it's pretty reasonable given what we are seeing at Portman Road under the present set up. We will probably have the cheapest tickets in the Premier League next season. |
 | Blog Comment | Let’s All Take a Deep Breath at 11:47:32
Have to say I agree with @Meadowlark - I don't do X/Twitter or Facebook so maybe I am missing something but I really haven't seen or heard anyone being critical of the manager or the team. Yes there have been occasions when we've all held our breath with the passing out from the back but even that has all but disappeared since McK explained the risk & reward strategy and why they do what they do. The only thing I have a view on is our defensive record which IMO is poor in terms of goals conceded but I wouldn't presume to second guess McK given his record with the players at his disposal and I don't doubt both he and the players don't deliberately allow the opposition to score. I was fortunate to be of age when Robson was running the show and I saw those glory years - I then suffered through the Evans/Keane/McCarthy era and I never thought I'd be lucky enough to see Town on the brink of a return to the Promised Land. Whatever happens, this season has been exciting with great football and there are many twists and turns to come. COYB |
