Another rip-roaring success fot Thatcher's privatisation bun-sale of the "family silver". I remember my old fella almost in tears over water privatisation. "She's selling off life itself", he said. He was right. Billions has been made and these water companies have got us by the short and curlies. We can hardly go somewhere else for their "product" (which they get for free as it simply falls from the sky) because their service is cr@p now can we! [Post edited 27 Mar 12:05]

Of course you are right about needing to be in government but it really pains me to see just how far the party machine is willing to stray from my political principles to get it. If the 'abandoned' policies are somehow resurrected in another guise down the line, they will inevitably have "you can't trust Labour" thrown at them won't they? |

I've said on here before, Thatcher was the most influential British politician of the 20th Century, including Churchill. Unfortunately, her influence is a malevolent cancer which has served to concentrate the wealth of the nation in an ever smaller group whilst many live off the just enough crumbs they (reluctantly) give up to ensure the systen can be maintained in their favour. As for Labour back tracking on another potentially transformational policy, quelle surprise! Starmer only interested in managing the current state of affairs with a more moderate face, not transforming a broken system for the better. |

The churn provides the excuse, the get out clause and the ultimate lack of accountability on an individual basis and, therefore, on the collective governmental psyche too. A, "We just need another term to put things in place" kind of mentality even after 14 years in power!!! |

Remember, we're all in it together. Rwanda is a safe place. Investment in Health, Education, Transport is world leading, our economy is consistently about to go on an up turn, the Brexit bonuses are to numerous to list and any problems we still have are, of course, attributable to a) forces beyond our control b) boat loads of immigrants wanting something for nothing or, if any other excuses are needed c) something the Labour Party are suggesting now or did when they were in government 14 years ago. As for Cleverley's 165K round trip, you’re just nit-picking |

Huddersfield away. Omari got into a tangle accused of diving and Burns ran right across the pitch and threw himself in there to 'protect' his young comrade. Super stuff, I loved it! |

Whatever you think of his character with the diving tendencies, he is far too good for tye Championship. Lovely carrier of the ball. |

Constant injections to mask pain. Countless ex players suffered for that from all clubs. |

How did we manage to sign him in League 1? He must really have believed completely in Cook. Under McKenna though, he is far more forward thinking too. Really inspirational leader. |

It did thanks. Had chemo again Thursday so needed a boost. Wish I could get to games but hey-ho, I'll watch from my sofa for now. |
| Forum Reply | So levelling up was just a catchphrase with little substance behind it? at 20:24 15 Mar 2024
The saddest thing of all is many in those 'red wall' communities who needed the investment to start to repair years of neglect actually believed the Johnson bull pucky. They voted him in in droves out of desperation and got what many of thought all along, platitudes and a few crumbs from the big boy's table. Nobody ever seemed to ask the bigger question either - why does the co untry need levelling up in the first place? Who has perpetuated the economic divisions within the UK? Why do we put our trust in the same institutions that cause our problems in the first place? |

Really sad news. World Party such an underrated band. Loved Private Revolution and Goodbye Jumbo albums. Especially fond of "Don’t you know, it can be beautiful.....sometimes" - the most magnficent track which can capture my melancholy when necessary. Have a little listen for yourself. Go join the World Party wherever it is Karl Wallinger and play them your tunes. "Have you ever been to Love Street? Have you tried on all the the shoes? They're for walking on the clouds with, Not for down here in the Blues" Walk in the clouds Karl - RIP. [Post edited 12 Mar 10:23]

From my perspective, BA are a group of very committed fans ( hence the 'Ultra' terminology) who's only interest is to generate more noise, a better atmosphere at PR through their singing, banners and their pre- match welcomes. They deserve nothing but praise for this. If, and it remains a big IF, any Town fan (not just members of BA) has information about violent / criminal behaviour, it is their civic duty to report it to the relevant authorities. It should never become just a BA issue to resolve, as an entire fan base we should oppose any such behaviour. I for ohe would like to thank the BA group for resurrecting an atmosphere over the last few years. Don’t let a few to$$ers destroy the great work they have done. |
