England internationals who have played for Ipswich
at 18:42 2 Jul 2025

As an aside, Eric Gates 2 caps. Ffs he was brilliant in the hole. What a waste. And Trwvor Whymark too. Jeez, Whymark would be 30 million plus now and as for Gatesy, even more. Perhaps the biggest tragedy was The Beat and his injury plagued career.

Other than the O’Shea new deal….

Not even the very limited transfer rumours have got the juices flowing as they all seem so so speculative from unproven sources. Only positive is, it's hot to liven up soon.

Lack of Transfer activity, perception and reality.

No idea of the quality of Nodge signings. They will be keen to hold on to Sargent I guess.
Think we need at least 2 midfielders to challenge for a starting spot myself, at least one striker to compete with Hirst and possibly another as I don't really see Al Hamadi even as 3rd choice but perhaps I'm wrong on that. Our loan signings this summer will be as interesting as our permanents.
For what it's worth, I reckon Hutchinson's release clause will be triggered late in the window which is a real pain in terms of a direct replacement. Maybe the club feel that Philogene is that player anyway?

Lack of Transfer activity, perception and reality.
at 12:51 29 Jun 2025

When the fixtures came out on Thursday, I suddenly became a little anxious that we had not dipped our toes into the transfer market yet. Lots of outgoings or returned loanees - Delap, Burgess, Tuanzebe, Luongo, Enciso, Phillips, Cajuste, Godfrey with only the returning loanees in the shape of Humphreys, Baggott , Clarke and Al-Hamadi to offset these. I had dismissed those who were getting a little twitchy as being too premature but all of a sudden I found myself feeling somewhat anxious. However, a quick look at the BBC transfers for June and I was back to being more settled. With the exception of Norwich, there has been very little inbound activity at Championship clubs. A few loans and undisclosed purchases here and there but nothing much. I imagine it will pick up in the next fortnight and look foward to a few juicy purchases into the bargain.

Ben Johnson and Harry Clarke - enough for the right hand side?
at 17:33 26 Jun 2025

Maybe not last season but this is the Championship. If absolutely necessary, O'Shea can play there too. I could see no replacement for Axel in the hope we have enough there and more money being spent on central midfield and centre forward. Any thoughts?

Fulham RB Tete looks to be heading to Everton…

Think Town would deal at a much lower price myself. Anything at 4 million plus and we'd bite I reckon. However, I really think he's never done enough to interest an established side like Fulham to be honest.

I like him. Skill, tenacity, engine. Hefty price tag though. Loan to buy if promoted? Yes, please.

Anyone else think Tuanzebe wants to play Centre Back? (n/t)

Just feel that he's more comfortable in the centre and that could be a sticking point. Other than that, nothing.

Relegation this season might be the best thing that's happened to us

That signing certainly added nothing that was needed to help stave off relegation and was just jot what we needed short term. As a lonv term investment? We will have to keep our fingers crossed.

Can't see Latte Lath myself
at 17:33 1 Jun 2025

Just don't see us paying anywhere near the money supposedly payed by Atlanta. I know McKenna seems to return to targets but this one is so much money and we're a Championship club right now. The Chelsea and Man City youngsters are a maybe but I'd prefer a loan with a buy clause upon promotion. Interesting to me is how many strikers we buy. Assuming Hirst stays, what happens to Al Hamadi? Is Szmodics considered a forward or is he part of a three behind the striker? Interesting times and tye next two months will be long.

Well our attacking set pieces were poor all season and defensively, 2nd half of the season was abysmal. So, hey-ho.

Withdrawl from Irish squad. Recurrence of injury after Sunday's cameo or just he's not up to playing speed yet? Hope it's the latter. He'll be very effective for us next season.
