Government Plans Could See Fans Return in December
at 16:44:55

Admire your optimism Saxonblue74 as to how quickly enough people can be vaccinated. Hope you're right for all our sakes.

I can see this causing issues with clubs that are able to generate income from paying fans (albeit limited numbers) against clubs that aren't. Can guarantee the politicians won't have thought that one through.

EFL Trophy Now Papa John's Trophy
at 18:04:30

@Europablue. Around 63m people voted for Trump in 2016. Current estimated population of USA is 328m. That makes around 19.2%. He got 46.1% of the popular vote granted (Clinton got 48.2%), but wrong to state half the American people voted Trump.

One-Match Touchline Ban and Fine For Lambert as Blues and Imps Charged By FA

Lambert probably wanted to avoid the post-match drink with Steve Evans. Sensible move.

Lambert Plays Down Chances of New Signing to Replace Norwood
at 10:30:16

tones_cones I thought the same. I liked the look of him when he came on in the Blackpool game towards the end of last season. Really rattled their defence with his running and pressing. Young and raw, but we used to blood players like that all the time

El Mizouni Rejoins Cambridge United on Loan
at 16:25:39

Much as I'd like to see talented youngsters like Idris in and around our first team I'm pleased about this. Cambridge are on fire in League 2 and they've got a young progressive coach. Idris did well there last season and was seemingly well liked by the fans so hope he can get some decent game time and impress again. As I say, I'd rather players like him and Dobra were here, but if Lambert's not going to play them then they are much better getting time at decent teams at a lower level than playing in our U23s. Go Idris!

Cornell: Who Will Be in Goal on Sunday? You'll Have to Ask the Gaffer
at 15:26:01

We need to give him a fair chance. Not a great start v Spurs, but he'd only just joined and is learning a new system with a new defence. I seem to remember Bart took a while to settle in and prove his worth. Time will tell.

O'Neill: Difficult to Plan for Pre-Season
at 14:18:20

If it's a compacted season, as seems likely, then ditching the EFL Trophy for a season seems like a sensible idea. I don't know how much clubs in Leagues 1 & 2 value it, but with low gates for most games and glory really only for the winner, it's an obvious candidate to go.

Garbutt: Players Were Always Going to Do the Right Thing
at 10:45:33

@Pecker. The conversations were going on between PL players and charities before Matt Hancock's comment and the press furore and there appears to be clear proof of that. Co-ordinating so many players across all 20 PL clubs can't have been easy and credit to Jordan Henderson for leading it.

Lambert: We Should Have Been a Couple Up After Excellent First Half
at 09:37:20

We’re 8 points behind Rotherham, effectively 9 with goal difference. We both have 14 games to go, so we’d have to gain 1.5 points on them every game until the end of the season. It isn’t going to happen. At the moment I don’t think we have the fight/nous in this division to win the play-offs. Can I see us nicking the 2nd auto spot? Sadly not.

Keane Still Confident Blues Can Win Automatic Promotion
at 12:17:18

Keane's comments (in another article) about Jackson doing some of the running for him and his comments in this about only getting a touch every 5 or 10 mins against Rotherham tell us something. This is League One son. It's a dogfight against a lot of teams. You're clearly a classy player for this level, but you need to be able to adapt your game and get stuck in when we play teams that want to disrupt our style. Rotherham and Wycombe being the top two teams in the league at present shows you what wins games.

Preston's Earl Signs on Loan
at 11:27:18

Saw a few people moaning about the possibility of this loan last week. Ok, so not a star signing, but most fans were underwhelmed by the signing of James Wilson. And he's turned out to be a pretty solid CD for this league (on a free too). Wilson was let go by Lincoln, so give Earl a chance guys. The club say they've restructured the scouting set up, so let's trust they've done their homework on this guy and get behind him.

Lambert: Hard Work is What Will End Downturn
at 14:50:43

Not a good interview on the back of Marcus Evans' comments. Surely Lambert had a chance to assess how players coped with pressure last season when we were battling relegation. Most of the players brought in this season are older players who really should be able to cope, otherwise why did we sign them when aiming for promotion?
