Interesting time for Omari
at 11:15 9 Sep 2025

i feel like he suits both.

In a counter attacking team, his speed and ability to get a team up the pitch would have been a very good weapon to have.

In a team that presses high, he's a very good presser and is a good dribbler.

Norwich tickets
at 12:31 8 Sep 2025

i think if i recall correctly Season ticket holders used to buy alot of tickets as there wasn't a restriction and it was hard to get tickets on general sale for the big games.

I might be wrong on that, so happy to be corrected.

There is no fair system that i can think of.

It will be my boys 1st derby as we couldn't get tickets in the Championship season as we didn't create log ins for us to assign tickets to when my brother used to purchase tickets and we went to 12 plus games in the league 1 promotion season. So looking forward to him seeing it for the 1st time.

Get Phil in as a Consultant on Press Conferences, is that what you are saying?

TBF, press conferences for real managers will be asked similar questions, in different ways and feel repetitive.

I know of someone who played under him in his earlier managerial career and they said his man management was very good, as did the Norwich players. Somewhere along the lines post Norwich, he seemed to either forget this or was unable to do it anymore.

He was just a chancer here tactically, anyone who had a bit of success he tried to imitate and failed, overlapping centre half’s ala Sheff utd, ball Possession, to the nth degree that was so far off what Pep was doing it was turgid and boring football.

I’ll give him the club was at its lowest point in terms of infrastructure being left to rot and running below the minimum level. That’s all I would give him though.

On the non playing side yeah, but football side whilst he would drive a hard bargain managerial appointments were muddled play style wise, he left signings until the last moment looking for bargains and Spurs had a real opportunity under Poch and they didn’t back him until it was too late.

i never been convinced he's the style of player that we needed either for the double pivot.

Pre premier league we had the most success with 2 ball winners, who could progress the ball to the technical players.

Or as we seem to be evolving to a ball winner and a ball player.

Brownhil has always looked to me to be a box to box player, of course he could have evolved into our style but not sold that he wouild have suited us.

average is being very kind. I thought he was awful at Brum and Preston, didn't see much of the Southampton game, so can't comment.

I didn’t say McKennas team was better than Burley’s team just that it was better to watch imo.

Those 15 or so months from league 1 to the promotion from the Championship was by far the most enjoyable football I have seen watching Ipswich. I was about for the Burley years and that was good but nowhere near as entertaining for me.

That might be recent bias talking but I don’t think so.

I remember after the Blackburn at home game, I said to my dad, I don’t know if it’s teams not showing us respect or we are a bloody good team, it certainly was the latter!

The best players don’t necessarily make the best team.

For me, it will be the saddest departure this summer
at 22:33 31 Aug 2025

I’ll always wonder looking back at this period if we should had made so many changes to the squad over the last 15 months. Maybe evolution rather than revolution would have been a better way to go.

Let’s face it our transfer business hasn’t been particularly successful so far for what it was designed to try and do.

How is bringing up this sort of stuff any benefit to the supporters or the club?

It's a complete non story, he's a former team mate, nothing else.

Yeah, very 1 dimensional run with the ball sideways and pass if an angle to drive at the goal isn’t there.

He doesn’t run in behind, overlap. Broadhead is a much cleverer footballer than him
And would mix it up for us.
