I missed the original post but i think the squad as it stands on August 31st need to revisit the Running Towards Adversity mentality.
We had 2 amazing years and weren’t ready to go up back-to-back, but nostalgia is heartening and dangerous in equal measure. Need to welcome the new boys in and restore the fortress. |

I was watching NBC coverage, and they pulled up a stat about “the first team to score in a new season got promoted in 6 of the last 7 seasons”, ignoring the fact that a favourite for promotion nearly always features in the season opener. |

Mine went to junk too.
I ended up getting the purple/red training top and a random club shirt, one or more of which will probably end up on classicfootballshirts.com anyway but there we go. |

I like it but I think I get what you mean.
Countdown is like a nice cup of tea.
8/10 Cats is good because it allows the panel to decide where they want easy points, and where they want to use their artistic license... Mortimer will bring something leftfield, Ayoade to give logic to something absurd, others may just play the vulgarity card.
I don't really see much 8/10 in the hybrid though. It's just playing fast and loose with the Countdown rules, plus the familiarity or Sean (RIP) and John trying to get a rise out of each other.
I dislike the Joe Wilkinson parts as they are just attempting cheap laughs, but I guess it mixes up the flow a bit to remind you it isn't just a Celebrity Countdown special. |
