Surely not! Why would he go back there now, they have a far worse squad than when he left & can't see how he would be any more successful than he was the last time. Not like they are ever gonna do much more than qualify for a tournament, maybe get to a last 16, big deal! Would lose a lot of respect for him if he did this as it would clearly be just about money.

To all the people saying "Noooo" to just about everyone who is linked, take a reality check - beggars can't be choosers folks! Look at where we are, look at the mess that is the squad left by Jewell & Keane before him....full of loanees and disgruntled young players with contracts running out after hardly being given a chance. Spot on StowTractor and Buryblue, this period of overspending was the real beginning of the slide we have yet to fully recover from. We got too big for our boots after that famous 00/01 season ("TWTD")! Those on here with memories like goldfish continue to fully blame the mediocre state of this club on PJ and RK (or Clegg).
However I'm certainly not convinced we would be an established PL club by now if those mistakes hadn't been made, as there is now more than enough time elapsed to have allowed us to make similar mistakes again & still be where we are now!!
Wonder where Finidi George is now, didn't he lie about his age at one stage? |

Keaneish, Jas is no doubt including short term loan signings in that 9 just to inflate the stats to support his tediously repetitive argument. Not that I'm saying PJ's over reliance on loan signings made in the 1st half of this season was right, it clearly wasn't and it backfired.
All in all though, another very average season (as I expected it would be given the mess he inherited) though if we can, last week's game excluded, start in the manner we have finished the last few months of this year then I'm confident we can be in or around the top 6. If we aren't then the knives will be out and justifiably so I concede. GK, CB, Midfield utility, Striker are required of course as a priority. |
