 | Forum Reply | If Sammy is out do we recall Chappers? (n/t) at 20:26 7 Sep 2025
KM is known for signing players who can operate in more than one position. How many number 10s do we need? I'm more worried that we only have one number 9. I would stick baggott on the bench as CB cover then stick him up top on 80 minutes to support or replace Hirst as required. It's no different to sending Palmer up for a last ditch corner. |

I think this is pretty close but I expect Johnson will be RB for the first hour until KM realises (again) that Johnson isn't a RB. He did OK on the left btw. He'll also realise at some point that you can't have Clarke and Johnson down the same flank as Clarke doesn't think he has to track back. I would pick Young every time but we don't know how much he needs to be looked after. |

You're right about our midfield. Offering no resistance at all, and no outlets for our defence. I think I'd rather see a back three, with the central CB sweeping in front almost as a central midfielder. Can anyone explain to me why, in anyone's tactics does Jack Clarke think he doesn't have to track back. He stood watching Jobnson trying to deal with two Saints players down their left and showed no interest in getting involved, although he was only five yards away. If we can't trust him we should move him on. I'd love to see Davis as a left winger with some defensive duties rather than the other way around. |

Last time in the Championship, we started with a shaky performance away at Sunderland but managed to steal all three points. I agree that, like last time, we were'nt ready. The signs are there that we're a couple if signings and injuries away from being a decent side. We got the ball into good wide areas and we won free-kicks in those areas, but the end product wasn't there. Both teams bi-passed our non-existant midfield in Sam's absence but everyone knows we have to fix that. My recollection of the championship was that there were four decent teams, but the overall standard was surprisingly poor. BTW well done Charlton for being the only promoted team to get a win. Has that even been mentioned.. COYB |

'Beat him on the brat with a baseball bat' 'I'm forever throwing bottles' I remember A.G.R.O. used to wind me up as a misspelling of Aggro. Nowadays, the one that winds me up is 'Champions of Europe' When the feck were we champions of Europe. It was funny at Leicester though when they sang 'Champions of England, you'll never sing that.' We started to sing our 'Champions of England in 1962' song. The younger Leicester fans could be spotted searching on their phones and I saw one kid mouth 'Oh F'ck' |

If I was Burgess and had been dropped for a much slower Greaves I'd have been peed off. O'Shea is more of a leader than Woolfie. If Woolfie went out on loan to a lesser club , he would develop those leadership skills. I've had him pegged for future captain so it'll be sad to see him go permanently. |

We've got plenty of options for different set ups. Back four, back three, back five. Another holding midfielder would be nice to give us options. We definitely need another number 9. Johnson's best game was in the win v Spurs (I think) where he played between Axel and Burns in a hybrid role with Axel managing him up and down the line. Young could bring us that leadership. |

Correct It's a joke. I've got the match for free but I still have to upload my debit card details and itfc isn't sending a verification code to my phone to verify a £0.00 payment as it should. I'm going to have to try paying the £4.99. The club must need the money. |

People inserting 'You know' between sentences. If I know, why are you telling me? 'Various, different' things. Not grammatically incorrect but annoying all the same is the unprecedented use of the word unprecedented. |

Spot on 2000 is the minimum allocation in the EFL unless your ground holds less than 20k then it's 10% subject to safety advice. I couldn't believe Sun'land only gave us 2000. That was mean. |

Gives away far too many free kicks imo, instead of holding up play and winning free kicks. |

Club World Cup, plus contracts start 1st July, financial year end 30th June for most clubs, players away on holiday. Who wants to splash the cash or add funds in last year's accounts apart from those in FFP trouble eg Villa who have just sold their women's team to avoid a breach. |

He was putting money in. Fans told him to F off. He then refused to put in any more of his own money. Fan Power. Club to be renamed Sheffield Sunday League FC. Me and my missus were almost caught up in it when their lads tried to ambush our lads after the game at Hillsborough. That almost stopped my missus wanting to go to any more games, so good riddance. |
