| Forum Reply | Which Town player has played one game for England at 06:56 19 Feb 2024
I can’t believe Ray Crawford only played twice for England. He also played for Malaya which I find bizarre. What’s even more bizarre is that Ted Phillips was never capped. |

We are still alive. I had a feeling at the start of the season that we could surprise this league. Realistically or maybe trying to play it down, I thought maybe top ten, I was hoping for play offs and of course to finish above our avian neighbours. But here we are. We are 3 points away from Sunderland’s 6th place total from last season with 14 games to go. 2 points a game would give us 94 points and if that isn’t enough to get us automatic promotion, then well done to anyone who finishes above us. |

I was at the Sheffield Wednesday game but someone mentioned yesterday that there’d been a problem with that one. Ive had long periods of commentary only, I’ve missed some kick offs and I’ve had problems whenever I’ve been overseas. I pay my subscription and I pay my £10 or €10 but the level of service is disappointing. Yesterday it took ages to work out that Swansea had equalised but that was down to poor commentary. Missing the Chaplin goal however was far more frustrating. Still, we got our three points so all’s well. |

| Forum Reply | Do we change shape to accommodate Moore and Ali?? at 12:50 9 Feb 2024
Moore and Al-Hamadi give us different options. Moore is the hold it up and let everyone join in type, Al-Hamadi suits a more high press with numbers set up. Hirst is able to adapt to both systems and I’m sure we’ll be working to get Moore playing both ways. Harry Kane never did it for England or Spurs but he seems to be managing it very well at Bayern. We’ve got some of the best coaches and analysis in the country so anything is possible. |
| Forum Reply | Kieffer Moore update at 17:25 24 Jan 2024
Two questions: 1) Is Moore worth’s the money? 2) Would he be able to cope with our training regime and fixture schedule? The answer to both is probably not. Sorry, third question, indirectly related - have we ever signed an Austrian? |
| Forum Reply | Is there a conversation to be had regarding Chaplin not starting now? at 20:04 23 Jan 2024
If you watch him you’ll see that his role has changed recently. He has become more of a box to box player. Same goes for Broadhead. It means that our formation is more fluid but at the expense of getting on the end of fewer chances. If your talking just about his finishing, then I would agree with you. But to drop one of our fittest, most forward thinking players and replace him with someone unproven over 70 - 90 minutes might not be the best move but it’s not a bad call for the cup game. |
| Forum Reply | Thoughts on what McKenna tweaked at HT? at 16:28 23 Jan 2024
I think it was all part of the game plan. We played our own version of the low block in the first half. We often had a line of 5 with a line of 4 in midfield inviting Leicester on to us. Jackson was up top trying to pick up any scraps from the out ball with Burns, Davis and Chappers trying to play catch-upon. It obviously changed at HT. We still allowed Leicester to come on to us but we were occupying the spaces in their half giving us more options. Vaz was picking passes out of fun. |

A big fee for Davis and Cressie coming the other way on loan would I imagine be acceptable to many Town fans. |
| Forum Reply | Bit short on strikers: Leicester at 07:58 20 Jan 2024
If we want Broadhead to do a no9 stint it has to be from the start or from the bench. We’ve seen a number of times now him floundering up top after he’s put in a massive shift as a 10. Jackson is doing ok and you’ve got to ask ‘where are the kids?’ Surely we’ve got more than just Buabo who is coming back from injury. |
| Forum Reply | Blackburn no longer willing to sell Gallagher at 17:38 17 Jan 2024
We’re not as desperate as some might suggest. Jackson has stepped up and surprised many of his doubters. Broadhead is familiar with leading the line but if we want him to play that role it has to be from the start, not when he’s knackered after 70 minutes. It would be nice to have a No9 but we can’t pay £millions as FFP doesn’t allow it. Maybe we need to learn to play with what we’ve got until Hirsty is back, like we have with Burgess. Another thought, what about Dane Scarlett? |

I wish too. Unfortunately, points deduction could be suspended or delayed to next season depending upon severity of offences and appeals. More likely applied this season and if you go down you go down. Some clubs have been getting away with it for years. The biggest offenders are players demanding massive wages that are not performance related and entitled supporters who think their team should be successful and call for the owners to leave the club because they won’t gamble with money they don’t have or are not allowed in spend. |

Stick Elkan Baggott up front from the bench. 6’5”, Good feet, good in the air and he’ll be back in a couple of weeks. I saw him warming up with the squad at Stoke before he flew out. He’s a big unit. |
