The Ipswich Game Will Be A Christmas Cracker - Notes for Middlesbrough
at 10:52:33

I cant believe Leadbitter is still be allowed to take corners! Truly the worst corner taker I have ever seen. It used to grind my gears that not only did Keane let him carry on taking corners but he always ran over to take them, despite ALWAYS hitting the first man!

We Are Right Back In It - Notes for Brighton
at 21:31:38

There is a certain irony when a team a whole 5 points and 1 place above us describe us as 'pants' 'not very good' and 'a poor side' especially at this stage of the season!

Bookies Stop Taking Bets on O'Neill
at 11:53:04

I think it was reasonable to at least believe there was a good chance he was going. It certainly wasn't 'media spin' as there was only ever going to be a couple of people in with a shot of the job taking into account the fact that the FAI probably weren't going to go with another Trappatoni type manager.

The Irish Times have been citing him as the man to take over the national team for a long time and I think it is fair to assume that someone at the Times will have someones ear at the FAI. Their back page last Saturday was dedicated to it.

The fact is also, for reasons I don't understand fully, national football management is a big draw for most managers and it is therefore fair and reasonable to assume that the same is for MM when it comes to Ireland.

Taking the above into account I don't understand why any of our 'negative fans' can be criticised for believing there may have been a reasonable to good chance he may be on his way.

Where Is Our 20-Goal-A-Season Man?
at 16:55:37

20 goal a season strikers are hardly 10 a penny, every team is after one. MM has brought in McGoldrick for free who has scored at every club he has been at apart from Forest and Taylor, who I think anyone who has seen can agree the boy has got bags of talent, skill and running. I recon between them those 2 will get 25 goals plus this season.

Not sure what your suggestion would be as a 20 goal a season striker who a, we can afford and b, would want to join us.

Christ we are only one game into the season lets reflect in a few months time if we are struggling for goals shall we.

Blues Weighing Up Lee Contract
at 21:30:17

JImmy86 we do have McGoldrick and Taylor who I think we can all agree are both decent strikers. Every club is after a 20 goal a season striker but there only are few about. I think we have got a better player in McGoldrick than N*rwich have just signed from Celtic and he hasnt cost us a penny. Lee will be a good back striker IMO.

Never understood why we ever let Lee leave in the first place he clearly liked playing for us and was a regular on the score sheet. Our club has made some odd decisions down the years.

McCarthy Admits Scotland Exit Error
at 09:11:40

Nice to hear at least him owning up to his error however as someone has already posted anyone he knows anything about the sort of player that Scotland is knew this was a mistake from the word go. His replacements are substandard in comparision and I really hope this mistake doesnt turn out to be critical for ITFC, if it does this would make the Jordan Rhodes incident pale into insignificance.

Reading Midfielder Tabb Linked

Would be a great addition to the squad if this happened, always rated him and Church from Reading. Surprised he hasnt featured more for them this season, as a previous poster said would add much needed creativity to the midfield.

Old Boy Stead Set to Start Against Town

I agree should never have been sold was a half decent player and certainly no worse than what we have on our books at the moment. The irony was of course he was in his best form he had ever been for us when he left.

Who Should My Son Support?
at 17:49:51

A good read.

Like you I live in London I have the same dilemma, my son is 19 months and does own a full Ipswich kit and I had the full intention of getting him into the Town however what kid from outside Ipswich wants to support a football team of a town they themselves have no connection to especially when all their mates and their family are Arsenal fans. Also do I want to inflict upon my son the truama/boredom/frustration of watching us play everyweek especially with the train journey there and back.

I love the fact he runs around the park in the summer in his Ipswich kit but when he is 4 or 5 years old im not sure he will feel the same way!

Basically I dont have an answer to your dilemma but I feel your pain!

Who Should My Son Support?

How exactly is Priskin 'Dead Weight' the guy doesnt want the ball hoffed to him and likes it at his feet. Seriosuly if we had Henry in his prime in the squad now we would be saying exactly the same thing for exactly the same reasons.

Quinn Admits Town Exit Likely

Always quite rated Quinn, defo worse players in the squad if you ask me. Still remember his across field pass to Walters feet for him to score our 3rd at QPR a couple of seasons back. Hopefully he will get a contract somewhere else in this league.
