not really going for it then. Bit disappointing as we only have 2 league games this month. Would have liked to have seen Delap, O'Shea, Cajuste start as a sign of intent.

I have a feeling McKenna won’t rest many tonight..

Think the bookies know something avout line ups. Forest win has shortened and we have drifted from just under 4/1 to 11/2. Guess we will know shortly.

What happens with relegation?
at 17:36 3 Feb 2025

Delap will be a given, think Hutch might force a move, probably Davis. Would need CM as would lose both Phillips and Cajuste to parent clubs. Suspect with new keeper coming today, Muric and or Walton (hope not) would go. Would still have a strong nucleus of a team. Al Hamadi will hopefully benefit from his loan at Stoke.

In hindsight do you think Ashton regrets not giving Hladky what he wanted? (n/t)
at 15:57 1 Feb 2025

No. VK isn't good enough. Whilst he was excellent at start of last season was very vulnerable in 2nd half especially. We forget many poor goals he conceded. Where is he now, on the bench in championship.

Muric looked very happy at the end,
at 21:09 20 Jan 2025

Not really, very poor if he was gloating. Wasn't Walton's fault. Interesting stat though, with Sanchez mistake tonight, Muric has made more that have lead to goals than any other keeper this season. Not to mention ones that didn't lead to goals

Muric will play tomorrow.

Can see it happening but it would be incredibly harsh on Walton. Conceded 2 from open play in time back in the team and has done well. Also Walton doesn't give ball away on edge of the box. The defenders in front look more settled with him behind them. Irrespective we need to back those playing.

Walton awful
at 23:34 16 Jan 2025

Muric has had chance after chance and made several mistakes. Made another Sunday, in Prem that would have been a goal. Walton needs a run and to be backed otherwise we have destroyed both keepers. 1st goal deflection beats him, without it he saves it. Poor for corner but was he still dazed, that would have been physio call. He didn't look his usual steady self though (maybe pressure of 1st time against his old team 🤷‍♂️). I hope he isn't dropped at 1st opportunity as Muric has had way more than you can count on 1 hand.

Nice that Man City have given 48 hours more prep time than us for Sunday

Know what you mean, but hopefully they will rest a few as they have a vital Champ League trip to PSG on Wednesday

PSR (FFP)....looks like Leicester getting away with it again
at 10:19 14 Jan 2025

Hoping lightning doesn't strike again. Remember last time we got relegated they went into admin like us but we're able to retain players while we had to have a fire sale. Leicester have this time stuck 2 fingers up by refusing to give information to PL and EFL. In fact looks like they have escaped punishment by getting relegated so falling between 2 leagues rules and having clever lawyers that have got them out of it.

Anyone see the Burnley highlights?
at 12:41 12 Jan 2025

but would pick Walton over BOTH. VH was excellent 1st half of season but suspect 2nd half. Excellent with ball at feet but general handling and positional sense was always prone to mistakes which in top flight would be exposed

Walton good again (n/t)
at 16:43 5 Jan 2025

Walton again solid today. Defence is far more comfortable as they know what the keeper behind them is going to do. 180 mins and only goals conceded were pens. With the 1st one I think Walton looks worse as you can see he realised he was going the wrong way and tried to change mid dive.

Burgess game time being managed, obviously with Chelsea in mind. Do have to wonder what Walton has to do to get in team. How many mistakes will Muric get away with, seems undroppable? That said let's hope for a big performance from him tonight

Is Hutchinson undroppable?
at 13:07 10 Nov 2024

Looks that way. For me been lacking strength at this level this season and loses possession too easy. Last season his trickery evaded contact but with the higher level defending this he is struggling to adjust at the moment.

New look 11

I would personally switch the keeper. From what seen pre season and yesterday would have Walton over Muric all day long. Walton has been excellent between the sticks, would have had no concerns with him starting the season.

Walton about to pull
at 14:40 17 Aug 2024

Always thought Walton was the better keeper out of him and Hladky anyway. The only area I would say VH was better was ball at feet, we won't be playing out as expansively this season so Walton will be a better fit in the prem out of the 2. VH benefitted from a great start to last season but awasnt as effective 2nd half of season as 1st half.

I have not had the time to read this forum at depth of late - so Hladký ???????
at 15:54 4 Jul 2024

To be honest his biggest strength was playing out not necessarily his glove work. 2nd half of the season more errors crept in but was too dangerous to bring Walton back as no time for him to play his way in. Several of Hladky's saves were actually from poor positioning. In the Premier I think he will be exposed. KM might be sticking with Walton as back up as a more solid all round keeper.

Your top five Ipswich goalkeepers
at 15:45 4 Jul 2024

1. Should be no doubt Paul Cooper. Despite size extremely athletic and a very solid all round keeper. Would do ok nowadays playing out from the back as was tidy with feet.
2. Richard Wright
3. Kelvin Davis
4. Bart
5. Craig Forrest

just outside
Best, Sivell, Walton, Fulop, Alexander (though we only had him briefly, was brilliant during that time)

Hladky news doesn't sound too positive
at 18:37 25 Jun 2024

I suspect this means he wants £X now that we have been promoted compared to £Y if in championship. Towns offer is somewhere between the 2 as they aren't willing to go mad with wages and Hladky is still holding out for £X. Knowing they have offer from somewhere like Celtic on the table to fall back on.

Prediction for fixture list
at 07:58 18 Jun 2024

Away 1st and last games of season. Some of the bigger guns on last 6-8 games. Always seem to do it to smaller teams. Also a spell where we have 4-5 games back to back of teams like Man C, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal
Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal all at home last day of the season. All recent seasons I can remember all the 'potential' title chasers all seem to be at home now on last game. Would be far better as a neutral if going to last day that they are away.

Do we think McK was actually serious about leaving?
at 13:56 28 May 2024

In all honesty think he was quite respectful by his silence. Nothing really came from his side (which is normally the way). Don't believe he was "seaking" a move, more dealing with approaches in a respectful manager. He works very professionally with MA and now believe behind closed doors things were much calmer. Sure there was constant comms between KM and the club. We are going to have to get used to "stories" coming out and increased speculation with things and often things being over exaggerated. Our club over last couple of years has become far more professional in its dealings.
