 | Forum Thread | Situation in Serbia at 14:13 17 Mar 2025
Hi all, I don't write or raise topics that often and the only previous time I "asked for attention" was when writing an official letter in the name of Serbian branch of Supporters club back in Marcus Evans days. But now, I feel a personal and human need to write, to try and raise awareness and attention towards the situation in Serbia. Serbia is at a breaking point, sliding into full-blown dictatorship under Aleksandar Vucic, who is copying the playbooks of Putin and Lukashenko - rigging elections, crushing opposition, controlling the media and using force against his own people. Vucic isn’t just another autocrat - he was Minister of Information in Milosevic's regime where he learned valuable lessons from Milosevic's downfall and is now using them to tighten his grip on power. Since November, hundreds of thousands of people have been in the streets, in more than 400 cities, towns and villages across Serbia - protesting against corruption and the regime’s total control over institutions and media. On March 15th more than 400.000 people gathered in Belgrade with 100.000 more from other cities - the biggest protest in the history of Serbia. Protests are lead by students and professors, they carry flowers and pin them to police officers. Against such peaceful protesters in Belgrade city center, in a long and relatively narrow street, as they held 15 minutes of silence - a symbol of dignity and nonviolent protests - Serbian government used an LRAD! Dozens of people were hurt in the issuing stampede. I was there! The Vucic regime’s response to people's nonviolent protest - was a weapon of war. In days before the protest, the Serbian government that is completely controlled by Vucic as president (which is unconstitutional in Serbian law) has illegally: - Suspended Parliament and banned all MPs from attending it. - Canceled all rail and bus transport to Belgrade from multiple cities to prevent people from gathering. - Interfered with road traffic through multiple unannounced roadworks. - Forbidden national radio journalists from working and allowed only selected TV journalists to work. - Forbidden multiple foreign journalists from entering the country. - Expanded the powers of the Belgrade police through an illicit expedited procedure. - Offended multiple international governments, including Germany, France, Romania, Croatia etc. This isn’t just about Serbia - it’s about stopping another dictator before it’s too late. Don’t look away. Try to get informed. Share what’s happening. Stand with us. Thank you. [Post edited 17 Mar 14:15]

by Delap's constant hitting and pushing people, just blatant fouls, what is his thought process? Can't imagine McK and staff are telling him to do it. Was expecting him to tone it down from preseason but just goes on running into people. |
 | Forum Thread | Most impressive opposition players in the Championship? at 12:35 5 May 2024
Everyone dreaming about signings yet? From a more reasonable perspective, here's a list of players I thought might be interesting buys for Town, either as projects or finished articles. These are based purely on my watching them play against us and in an odd match I picked up here and there over the season. No stats included or anything. So feel free to share what players left an impression on you this season. Michael Cooper - GK - good with feet and with hands, good age for a GK Jacob Greaves - CB - seems like a physically stronger version of Woolfie Ethan Laird - RB - was fantastic against us, completely dominated our left flank Milan Van Ewijk - RB - was very good in both games against us Kenneth Paal - LB - again, was very good against us, some proper legs and lungs on him Ben Sheaf - CM/DM - looks a great fit for our pivot MF Wouter Burger - CM/DM - looks classy and a good range of passing Joe Aribo - CM/DM - completely dominated and not lost a single duel in the game at PR Will Smallbone - CM/DM - I just liked how he playes Flynn Downes - CM/DM - obviously the history is there, but he does seem like a good fit for this system, no? Jobe Bellingham - AM - I think he will be an amazing player and should get him asap before he commands a 40-50m fee Jack Clarke - AM - tricky and productive, makes thinks happen, good age Callum O'Hare - AM - looks to me a bit more calm version of Chaplin (although with a weaker shot on him) Samuel Edozie - FW - very fast, very tricky, good project Tyrhys Dolan - FW - looked great against us at Ewood park, very technical and fast Jay Stansfield - FW - looks a good prospect, Idk if he's still interesting now we're in the PL Liam Delap - FW - would rather have him than Stansfield tbh Emmanuel Latte Lath - FW - I think one of the best strikers in the Championship this season, I watched most Boro games of all other teams and everything they ever did was involving him Sinclair Armstrong - FW - built like on ox, good project while on low fee? Purely based on assumption they will win the POs and get in the PL so their players would be out of a reasonable price range for us, Leeds players are not in the list. But here are a few I surely wouldn't mind in the chance they don't make it up this year: Georginio Rutter Crysencio Summerville Joël Piroe Ethan Ampadu PS No Norwich players, wouldn't shop there in any scenario. |
 | Forum Thread | Barnsley-Bolton League 1 playoffs at 19:50 3 May 2024
Trying to take my mind off Saturday and stop reading the news and threads on here for the 4th time, I decided to take a look at Barnsley v. Bolton. Boy, after 15 minutes I returned on here. The game is unwatchable. Just running and hoofing, no 3 sensible passes put together. Is it me or these two teams were one of the better ones last season in L1? Is this how far we've come? Or did they become so much worse? In the meantime? Roll on Saturday! and as soon as I posted Bolton go on and score a pretty good goal... ta [Post edited 3 May 2024 19:57]

Reading the comments, you'd say we're a pretty sh*te team. Passing from the back is awful, defense awful, goalie awful, we keep not stuffing other sh*te teams in this sh*te league, God only knows how we do score goals, we don't have what it takes when it's make or break... basically we'll be the worst promoted team ever in the history of the championship and will do so purely because Leeds and Southampton are more sh*te than us. This is how reading some of the rants feels like. Some of the comments do beggar belief. In the meantime, we play good entertaining football, exciting matches, broke how many records for the newly promoted team and keep the promotion to the PL in our own hands in what is maybe the toughest Championship season ever. Honestly weird perception from some. Counter-rant over. :) |
