Luke never let us down. Always reliable - that's what you want from a Centre Half.

Best of luck Luke at Coventry - except when you are playing the Town!

Chaplin Set For Pompey Return
at 18:17:08

Chappers is a Town legend! We will never forget his many great goals.

But he lost his goal scoring form towards the end of the 23-24 Championship season and then only scored one in the Premiership. So you have to respect this decision.

Best of luck for the future Chappers!

You carried us through to the premiership in those last key games just over a year ago. And well done for England U21s. See if you can do better than Keiron Dyer!

We won't forget his key contributions in our two promotion seasons. He got us over the line in the difficult game v Port Vale and scored several other vital goals - eg v Barnsley and Southamton. Best of luck Nathan at Wrexham - except when we play them!

Derby Linked With Skipper Morsy
at 10:21:32

Sam Morsy played well in the Premiership for the Town and was spectacular in the Championship. There is no more popular player with the fans. He is a key player for us to get promoted again in the new season. Derby would be a big step down for him. Stay with us Sam!

McKenna: Enciso Left Out as We Focused on the Lads Who Will Be Here Next Year
at 21:34:29

We have to be in a confident frame of mind for the start of next season. A well organised pre-season set of games is crucial, including all new players. We didn't really have that this season and, with very tough early fixtures, failed to get off to a good start.

No way was that a penalty. But let's give Walton a match in the next game. He was brilliant in the run-in last season, and now we are in another run-in.

Ipswich Town 4-3 Rotherham United - Match Report

Worst performance by Town at home in years. We just couldn't win the ball from every knock down. What happened to our midfield. But saved by Burns and Hutchinson. Keiron will sort it out for Saturday.

Ipswich Town 3-1 Millwall - Match Report

Great performance Town! But why on earth did the groundsman turn the sprinklers on at half time. That water added a lot to the fog and could almost have forced the game to be called off. Never again please groundsman!

Great goals but Town have conceded 8 goals in their last 3 home games, but none in the last three away games. Keiron does need to sort out the defence at home.

Ted's Greatest Game 1962 Win at Spurs
at 17:25:16

The report mentions the Spurs away match in 61-62 but Ted was great in the home match also.

I was standing behind the goal of the North Stand at the wall with my mother. It was her first ever football match. Ted hit one of his super powerful shots which just missed the Spurs goal, hit my mum on the head and bounced back into the field of play. A perfect header - but my mum never went to a match again and I'm not sure if she was ever the same again.

Mind you after the 61-62 season nothing was the same again. Thanks TED. RIP.

The Greatest Number Nines
at 18:08:10

It is not just about scoring goalsbut scoring goals to win the most vital games. Ray Crawford, together with Roger Osborne, scored the goals that won us the league and the cup. In 1981 in the last vital away game V Middlesborough we needed to win to hold on to the top spot, Mariner scored but it wasn't enough. If he had scored a hatrick that day he would have my vote for sure. I think about that game every day.
