Lots of positives for Town. Back to scoring again with three great goals. Hirst and Burns also back and played well. Lots of confidence for the next two games. We are going to do it! |

Worst performance by Town at home in years. We just couldn't win the ball from every knock down. What happened to our midfield. But saved by Burns and Hutchinson. Keiron will sort it out for Saturday. |

Great performance Town! But why on earth did the groundsman turn the sprinklers on at half time. That water added a lot to the fog and could almost have forced the game to be called off. Never again please groundsman! |
| News Comment | Ted's Greatest Game 1962 Win at Spurs at 17:25:16
The report mentions the Spurs away match in 61-62 but Ted was great in the home match also. I was standing behind the goal of the North Stand at the wall with my mother. It was her first ever football match. Ted hit one of his super powerful shots which just missed the Spurs goal, hit my mum on the head and bounced back into the field of play. A perfect header - but my mum never went to a match again and I'm not sure if she was ever the same again. Mind you after the 61-62 season nothing was the same again. Thanks TED. RIP. |
| News Comment | The Greatest Number Nines at 18:08:10
It is not just about scoring goalsbut scoring goals to win the most vital games. Ray Crawford, together with Roger Osborne, scored the goals that won us the league and the cup. In 1981 in the last vital away game V Middlesborough we needed to win to hold on to the top spot, Mariner scored but it wasn't enough. If he had scored a hatrick that day he would have my vote for sure. I think about that game every day. |

I saw all these number nines many times. Ray Crawford has to be at the top because: 1) He won the league for Town in 61-62 with many great goals and especially the two he scored to clinch the title in the last game V Aston Villa 2) He scored vital goals to get us promoted again in 67-8 under Bill McGarry including the goal in the final game V Blackburn that won us the old second division 3) He was our first England international - big breakthrough for Town I would agree with the other ratings with Paul Mariner at No. 2 behind Ray Crawford. Paul scored great goals but didn't win us the league title. Phil you got this one wrong, but I don't think you could have seen the great Ray Crawford in 61-2.. |
