Or Delap for that matter. 8 in 31 in the championship the season before we signed him… |
 | Forum Reply | So 3 right backs now. at 07:17 24 Jul 2025
I can see us playing with a genuine back three and two wingbacks this year, particularly against the stronger teams. Would make sense given we currently only really have Ogbene as an out-and-out right winger - most of our attacking options seem to be number 10s or more inverted wingers that like to cut in rather than overlap. Plus, overlapping wingbacks on both sides would make it more difficult for teams to double up on our wide attackers, and would make more space inside for our 10s to play. Back three with Leif/Townsend on the left and Young/Johnson on the right. Clarke another option but could see him or Woolfy playing right CB and underlapping like Sheffield used to do. Back three with two CMs would also seem to be more easily transferable to the prem if we go up - back four left us far too exposed with Leif pushing forward, and if he’s not pushing forward there’s no point him playing. |
 | Forum Reply | If we get £40m for Omari that is a quite brilliant bit of business from Ashton at 07:45 19 Jul 2025
It’s not only 13m though is it, we’re also recouping the 20m we spent in the first place that was already accounted for in our budgeting. This means that if the deal goes through we will have around 35m to reinvest in the team. Our weakness last year wasn’t our wingers, it was our centre mids who just weren’t good enough to cut it in the Prem. No disrespect to them, but back to back promotions meant we were out of our depth. We can afford to cash in on a winger to reinvest elsewhere. Also, we’re on a massive upward trend as a club, but we’re not big enough to turn down 40m for an unproven 22 year old. Same as Brentford aren’t a big enough club to turn down 70m for their winger. And hopefully Boro aren’t big enough to turn down 20m for Hackney. We’re climbing the food chain but we’re still not massive and we have to accept the realities of that. Town have been great at keeping their dealings secret this year which is frustrating for us, but probably great for business as a media circus always pushes prices up. It was clear from mid-season last year we were going down and they will have made plans, I’m sure they have some superb signings in the pipeline and we need to trust the process. |
 | Forum Reply | That save from behind the goal at 21:08 15 Feb 2025
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGGl_DSM8X7/ A bit clearer on this video, but yes - cross comes in, shot towards the far post from a Villa player, huge deflection back the other way off Townsend (I think?) and Palmer managed to scoop it back over his own shoulder past the post. Unbelievable save. [Post edited 15 Feb 21:08]

Yeah first one was wrong but can’t argue about the second. Utterly stupid move when you’re on a yellow…far better to concede a goal than get a red there. |

Well said. Games like this one and Liverpool are irrelevant to our season, although I wish we’d kept the score a bit more respectable today! We just need to get through the next game without any injuries or suspensions, then the second half of the season really starts. 15 games to find probably 20 points needed to stay up. If we go down, we sell Delap for a huge profit and smash the championship with our exciting young squad. |
 | Forum Reply | Our fans videoing Man City players at 19:41 19 Jan 2025
This time two years ago we lost 2-1 to Oxford in league one. Incredible how far we’ve come and I don’t think you can blame fans, particularly younger ones, for being excited about seeing world class players like Haaland and de Bruyne at Portman Road. |
 | Forum Reply | Which Vpn used to successfully stream matches at 16:23 12 Aug 2024
Another +1 for Nord, but I’ve found for football streaming I’ve had to select an “obfuscated server” to connect to. Football streaming (unlike a lot of other types of streaming) usually actively try to detect VPNs, and can often recognise a standard VPN connection because the IP address you get assigned is from a data centre. Obfuscated server option for Nord has usually done the trick when the normal options were detected. |

It’s on the YouTube highlights, doesn’t look offside to me. Chaplin was definitely onside for the cut back so the only question is whether Davies was off for the original ball over but doesn’t look like it. Glad it didn’t matter in the end… |
