Seeing as to a man they all thought Delap was a waste of space and we’d paid way too much for him, I think I know who’s having the last laugh. |

... or we don't win and you feel the need to go back to whatever you were doing in League 1 or the Championship. I know I will. |
 | Forum Reply | Davis at 16:03 22 May 2025
I think a lot of the problems on the left come from a couple of issues. Early in the season Davis was not on the same wavelength as Greaves where previously he had a pretty solid understanding with Burgess. Certainly at least a couple of goals came from Greaves being pulled out of position while Davis was up the pitch. Since Christmas and the loss of Szmodics, he's had little in the way of protection in front of him. Also, none of our current midfield have read the game and filled in for him when he burst forward as well as Luongo did previously in League 1 and the Championship. |

I remember that day well. Was walking along the dockside and heard an almighty roar come from Issacs and realised Leeds must have conceded. Sammie Szmodics scored the winner for Blackburn |

"Dockside is going to be full with them" I've been quite surprised the numbers of away fans that have been let into Issacs lately. Especially the Brentford game, the place was crawling with fans showing their colours and singing as I walked past on the way to the game. They always have bouncers on the door and I've never really noticed many away fans at all there earlier this season or previous ones. [Post edited 20 May 16:44]

 | Forum Reply | What has actually gone wrong since Xmas? at 13:38 20 May 2025
I think the biggest difference since Christmas is the loss of Szmodics. Think his presence was vastly underated. He got through an enormous amount of work on the left hand side and it was obvious whoever came on to replace him around the 70min mark left gaps that he had covered. We also greatly missed his finishing! |

"Was a weird game, the Hutchinson stick really baffled me to be honest and then the outrage because he didn't stay long enough to applaud the fans at the end?" I reckon that he had to go and sit down to rest his bruised legs given the free hand to kick him that the ref gave their full back |
 | Forum Reply | Fans who clapped Vardy’s goal & clapped him off at 10:34 19 May 2025
I thought his challenge on Omari in the first half that left him injured was a straightforward forward yellow, and would have been had that challenge been made by any of our players in previous matches. The fact that he then didn’t book him in the second half when Omari skinned him and he took him out heading towards the penalty area, making no attempt to play the ball, just beggars belief. |
 | Forum Reply | Is the Leicester game our most valuable of the season? at 11:36 6 May 2025
Why exactly would you expect us to finish higher than a team with plenty of Premier League experience, that also finished above us last year. I don’t really see our relative positions as season defining. It’s pretty obvious that there’s a vast gulf between the promoted teams and the rest of the league and for us to finish a point or so either side of Leicester doesn’t really point to much else. |
 | Forum Reply | Anyone see the Beto challenge on Greaves at 15:27 4 May 2025
Agreed it should have been a caution but I can perhaps forgive the ref more missing that in real time. What amazed me was he didn’t book the player who repeatedly pushed Hurst after the challenge that Hurst was booked for. That was a straightforward yellow, not dissimilar to the actions that saw Delap and an Everton player both cautioned in the first half. Incredible inconsistency! |
 | Forum Reply | If you needed proof that PL refs are inept. at 10:29 28 Apr 2025
The rules used to be that you could assist one level above your referee position. That still exists lower down the referring pyramid, but you can now opt to solely concentrate on either referring or assisting. Those in the PGMO groups only do one job and will have generally done so for years before promotion. |
 | Forum Reply | Joe Hart's comment about Johnson's yellow card at 15:44 27 Apr 2025
The thing that annoys me is the inconsistency. There was a foul very early in the game, I think it was on Jack Clarke breaking halfway in the Newcastle half with lots of space in front of him, where the Newcastle player knew there was danger and deliberately stopping him with no intent to play the ball. The ref gave the foul but didn’t award what should have been an obvious yellow, even if it was early doors. You know if that had happened the other way around the Town player would be in the book. Also, in case of the of the penalty he decided it wasn’t a foul, so where was the card for the massive dive the player took trying to sell the decision? He would have had to rescind it after VAR, but the fact he didn’t caution in the first instance speaks volumes. |

... that the fixture computer has both us and Norwich travelling to the North East for 3pm kick-offs Saturday. Might make for some interesting train rides or Service Station stops on the A1..... [Post edited 23 Apr 15:01]

Pretty sure if we had spent £50m you and other whiners would be accusing the club of not investing and wasting promotion. Seems many people have a real lack of realism about the gulf in standard between the Premier League and Championship. |

Looking at the pitch on Google maps the grass lines, which are usually space 6 yards apart, would suggest the pitch is about 70 yards wide |

It's the back of the mid-tier that's really bad. Twice as many stand supports as the upper tier and the view of the far side of the pitch is really restricted |
 | Forum Reply | Any hints for new driver insurance? at 20:27 29 Mar 2025
My son has taken that approach to an extreme. Passed his test before going to Uni but not driven for 5 years since. He’s just taken out his first insurance and managed to get it for £500 through Hastings. That’s for a 7 year old Fiesta. |
